Laura Angelini Makes Birthday World Event

It was the best birthday ever for Southern California based singer Laura Angelini.

The energetic musician and humanitarian flew - on her own dime - in August to Puno, Peru as a volunteer with the Los Angeles-based Angels of Charity and Music (ACM).

She returned a week later, the first week of September, a changed woman.

During that time, Angelini and the rest of the 36-member all volunteer team - including doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists and non-medical support members - coordinated the sixth annual mission trip to change the lives of more than 250 Peruvian children through free surgeries to repair cleft palates; ear microtia; nose, throat, hand and feet deformities; and, gastrointestinal maladies.

"I could easily say this was a life changing experience for me," Angelini said, after returning home to Los Angeles. "I felt such beautiful, open hearts and such gratitude."

Angels of Charity and Music is a non-profit organization made up of dedicated musicians, missionaries, doctors, nurses and other volunteers. It was founded in 2010 by Andrea Vicich, also a Southland singer, who performs under the name Andrea Andrea and sings Spanish children's music for Disney and on her own recordings.

Angelini has volunteered for fundraising activities with ACM for the past five years, but this is the first time she has flown to Peru as a member of the mission team.

Last year, since the trip is annually held around the time of Angelini's birthday, she created a Facebook event whereby friends and family donated to ACM instead of buying the singer birthday gifts.

This year, in addition to performing for ACM's annual "Help A Child Smile Again" charity event at a physician's home in Downey, Angelini put her own money where her mouth and heart are and becam e a member of the mission team. The trip was from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1.

Angelini also was able to procure donations that paid for the anesthesia for the surgical procedures for the 253 children.

"Laura's support, both financially and as a volunteer was such a blessing," Vicich said. "We (ACM) pay for all of the medical supplies, and the anesthesia would be quite expensive if we paid for it ourselves. We were really blessed with that donation."

In addition to the annual Peru mission trip, during the rest of the year, ACM provides emotional, financial, spiritual and medical help to low-income families and children of broken homes, as well as orphans and youths living in the streets in the United States and Mexico.
The Peru trip is led by ACM's Medical Director, U.S. Surgeon and Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Dr. Terry Shibuya, of Anaheim; ACM President Julian Hanberg; ACM Director Al Sousa; and, Vicich.

Procedures performed during the annual trip would likely be otherwise unattainable as the cost for similar surgeries would be upwards of $40,000, according to Vicich.

Arriving in Peru was a bit challenging for many of the mission team members, several whom, like Angelini, hadn't dealt with what Angelini called "rugged weather." Temperatures ranged in the 30- to 60-degrees; whereas, the Los Angeles area team was coming from about 80 degree temperatures.

The altitude also was a vast difference as Puno — which is known as Peru's folkloric capitol, owing to its traditional music and dance festivals — has an altitude of 12, 556 feet above sea level.

"Most of us took altitude illness meds, so it wasn't too bad," Angelini said.

Once in Puno, the team was met by children and families eager to know if they'd be selected for the life-altering medical procedures.

"Due to time and financial constraints not all the families are able to receive care and some will have to come back next year to try again," Angelini explained.

Watching the skilled physicians and medical professionals give of their time to provide medical care to the families of Peru and being part of the mission team was eye opening for Angelini.

"I was amazed at how everyone worked together so well and how grateful the children and families were," she said.

She told of the excitement exhibited by children and parents when the team first arrived.

"One little girl — she couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old — came running up to me and hugged me. It was so touching," Angelini said, adding she saw the child again before the surgery, comforted her and again after the procedure and the girl again expressed her gratitude.

"It was such a beautiful gift, to see how we were there helping children and families and they were so incredibly grateful for whatever we did," Angelini said. "I couldn't have asked for a better birthday."

Amy Kress Releases Single And Music Video Through Secret House Show Experience

After her celebrated debut album release of "Secret Music" in January of 2015, Amy Kress has returned almost a year later with new music and is now releasing "Iceland". This is her long-awaited single and music video from her sophomore album titled, "Fly" – a project whose creation served as a form of therapy and healing for Kress during cancer treatment.

The video was shot under a full moon on a warm summer night this past August where Kress invited friends and fans to her home for a "Secret House Show." Guests were led into Amy's backyard, illuminated by over 6,000 lights and were invited to relax in one of over a dozen couches moved in for the occasion.

Kress credits a friend as inspiration for the song, "When my friend booked a trip to Iceland in January for her and her boyfriend, I couldn't imagine what she was thinking but then she explained she just wanted to be curled up warm in his arms while a cold dark winter raged on outside. The reasoning behind that trip seemed so deeply romantic and Iceland was an easy song to write from there."

Watch as the night unfolds in Amy's new music video "Iceland." Watch the video on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/UFPa8akEWCM

825 Records Releases Kerchief's Debut Album "Machines And Animals"

Following a single release paired with immediate regional touring and press, radio, and TV broadcast exposure comes Kerchief's highly anticipated debut LP "Machines and Animals," available on digital outlets worldwide today.

The success of the album's lead single "Milk & Honey" started swiftly upon its release shortly after Kerchief's debut at SXSW 2015. The in-studio music video premiered on THECOOLTV Network across the United States while internet, indie, and college radio followed suit, consequently obtaining an official CMJ Chart add and a consistent rotation throughout the summer. Press from print magazines such as Music Connection and indie blogs across the web spread the news about the former Vanity Theft guitarist/singer's new venture. The support from all angles is strengthened by a pre-existing fan base accept- ing Britt Hill's new project with open arms and packing clubs from Tennessee to Chicago, everywhere around, and in between.

With ten songs tracked within seven days in Brooklyn, NY, in September of 2014, “Machines & Animals” offers tracks that expertly weave Hill’s smooth voice with the edge of her songwriting and lyrics. Guitar riffs bite into bass lines that ebb and flow with emotional vocals, taking inspiration from a personal journey. Heavy drum beats and layered guitars articulate the feelings behind stories of the pursuit of finding a purpose in life’s daily struggles, reflecting an evident influence from ‘90s alternative rock.

Producer Matty Amendola knew working with Kerchief would be a perfect fit as soon as he heard her demos. Working closely with engineer and Grammy Award winner Butch Jones, he created a sound that would bring Kerchief’s debut album to life. Shortly after, Kerchief signed an artist development and distribution agreement with Amendola's music incubator, 825 Records.

Recent reviews have also added, "Her musical influences are more urban than, say, Ani DiFranco, but she has the same strength of character" (The Blues Bunny) as well as comparisons such as "Arcade Fire- meets-PJ Harvey" (Tunes Digest) and succinct statements such as "Hill’s music reflects a long and sto- ried personal journey that hits with force and leaves the mind in a haze of personality" (Richard Lyne - Appetizer Radio).

Kerchief can be seen during the next few months around the South with a regular show schedule, but has been announced to be headlining The Cutting Room in NYC on August 29th. She'll be backed by special guests bassist Michael MacIvor (Candiria) and producer Matty Amendola on drums.

Advanced tickets are available now via Ticketfly and come with a free CD.

Singer Sued For $10M & Branded As "Too Old & Ugly" Makes A Come Back

What started out as a $75 gig to sing in a P!NK tribute band lead to Collette McLafferty (41) being sued for $10M and almost ended her career. She overcame with a new video covering P!NK's Perfect (with 20,000 views on Facebook) and her first solo album "42" being released on her 42nd birthday, 11/23. She also found a calling for both legal reform and ageism activism, calling for all women to "feel no shame."

Collette McLafferty had enjoyed a 21 year career as the lead singer of the popular east coast indie band edibleRed (signed to Select Records), a commercial singer for major brands such as Mattel and MetLife, a session singer, and a semi-finalist on America's Next Broadway Star. She and her band were featured on MTV Buzzworthy, VH1 and had much success abroad.

Collette was hired to be the lead singer in a local P!NK Tribute band that, unbeknownst to her, was in a civil war between the current band owner and his former partner, who was also a personal injury lawyer. Out of anger the former partner filed a law suit suing the current band leader and Collette for $10M. In the lawsuit he claimed that she was "too ugly" and "too out of tune" to sing in a P!NK Tribute band. The New York Post picked up the story and headlined it "Singer sued for being too old and ugly for Pink cover band". Time Magazine's website, Yahoo News and several other new sources picked up the headline. >From there Collette's world crumbled amongst the viral media sensationalism which now deemed the 41 old singer "too old" as well as "ugly and a mediocre singer", despite her career success and classical training from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

With the lawsuit still in litigation, Collette has managed to turn her nightmare into a cause to help countless people by becoming a leader in lawsuit reform through the Lawsuit Reform Alliance and introducing Collette's Law into New York State legislation. Collette's Law will help "discourage meritless and frivolous litigation" by increasing the cost liability for those initiating them. Collette's Law will help save millions in taxpayer dollars as well as save innocent bystanders from going through the emotional and economic horror of unwarranted legal action.

Through the turmoil of the last year Collette has discovered the beauty of having nearly 42 years of life experience. She has come out against ageism in the entertainment industry and dedicated her first solo album, entitled "42", (sneak peak of 1st single "Lunacy") to women who are told their talent is diminished by their age. She created the #feelnoshame campaign urging women of all ages to post pictures with their true age on social media.

In Collette's own words, "Today I am stronger, more experienced and have greater inner and outer beauty. As I turn 42, I truly Feel No Shame!"

POSSIBLE OR NOT? Can An "Indie Artist" ACTUALLY Chart On Billboard Without Being Signed To A "MAJOR"...?

Here’s one for the books! Christine Storm has an undeniably catchy tune “Shoulda Coulda Woulda” written by both Storm and Grammy nominated/Golden globe winning producer Frank Greenfield, that's hit Billboard's Mainstream Top 40 for a total of 8 weeks straight. The hit features soaring vocals from a classic rock influence with a twist of dance-infused pop, and she doesn't plan on stopping there.

Recently collaborating with Curtis Young, Storm proclaims her new sizzling electronic, dance single "Enter the Storm" an upbeat anthem that sneaks in with a growing bass line grabbing onto you refusing to let go, "...will leave my "Storm Angels" (A term Storm uses to refer to her fans) super amped and wanting more"! The short, sweet and straight to the point lyrics will have you humming, dancing and singing all throughout the day. If you haven't heard them yet, both singles are available now at all online retailers worldwide. So there you have it, indie artists TOO can top the charts and you absolutely do NOT have to be signed to a "Major". Indie artists…. if you got what it takes, ANYTHING's POSSIBLE!

Soulful Songbird Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley Still Believes With New Music Release

When Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley sings, every ear in the room listens. She has the kind of sultriness that seeps underneath every nook and cranny in the listener and grips with a firm hold. It's one of the reasons why famed director Tyler Perry has continued to cast her for over a decade now in his many productions. With her new music project, "Still Believe," on her independent label, SodaFace Records, Riley has delivered a true showstopper. "Still Believe" is a faith filled, heart drenched conviction of love persevered and Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley delivers sweet dominion with each pumping note.

Passion packed with 12 tracks, penned by Riley and her writing partner, Luke Austin, "Still Believe," reverberates with silky soul, rhythmic R&B, dreamy jazzy undertones and bluesy thunder. "Still Believe in Love," the single release, is a powerhouse declaration of defiance in the face of love gone wrong. Showcasing Riley's scintillating vocal ability, the track is a melodious stampede with righteous fervor. On "Just Can't Stop," another selection, Riley dives in deep and serves up down home, blues trodden angst amid unrequited lust. "Work in Progress" reveals the songbird rocking hard in an anthem for trust-shattered hearts.

Many remember Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley from when she first burst on to the music scene in the late '80's with her torching classic "Thanks for My Child." She has since continued to propel her career and remains a formidable force on today's musical landscape. "Still Believe" is her second independent release since her CD project "Let Me Be Me," four years ago. Her fan base has grown exponentially via her exposure in numerous Tyler Perry projects, including "Madea Gets A Job," "Tyler Perry's Madea's Class Reunion," "Why Did I Get Married?" and most recently her starring role in the Tyler Perry play and DVD project, "Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned."

One of the Brooklyn native's proudest accomplishments to date is her homegrown vehicle, "Black Velvet Mondays," a musicians' and singers' jam session and showcase at New York's legendary Village Underground venue. The Monday night event has been going strong for almost 10 years now and streams live at http://www.TheVillageUnderground.com nurturing an international audience.

"I am so thrilled to be releasing this project right now. I know my audience has been waiting for some new music from me! This project further expresses who I am as an artist and where I am as a being," offers Riley. "We included a few of NYC's most phenomenal musicians and there is a song included which is an ode to my Black Velvet Monday's weekly event and all the artists who participate, titled "Trust Your Gift."

"'Still Believe' is an absolute treasure," adds Riley. "You can press play at the beginning and just let it go. It flows and feels good and you will absolutely want to listen and repeat. I'm excited for everyone to hear this music and look forward to performing it for the world! I still believe that music should be as much about how it personally moves you while listening as it is about how it sounds! With "Still Believe" the songs go beyond your ears and straight to your heart and soul. My prayer is that "Still Believe" touches everyone as a full experience, sounding great and feeling greater!"

Vocalist/Songwriter Halie Loren Explores Transformation And Self-Realization On Soulful Release, Butterfly Blue - Available June 9 Via Justin Time Records

The butterfly has long been a powerful symbol of rebirth. The lowly caterpillar's emergence from its cocoon into a thing of beauty in flight is a vivid embodiment of transformation and self-realization. The title of Butterfly Blue, the stunning and soulful new album by vocalist Halie Loren, evokes those poetic images, but tinged with a sense of bittersweet melancholy.

Loren has found quite a bit of metamorphosis over the past few years, growing from a West-Coast singer-songwriter to an international jazz celebrity in Japan and Asia, where the singer has now performed dozens of sold-out concerts and found her music climbing to the pinnacle of many a sales chart, including three consecutive Billboard Jazz #1 albums in Japan.

Her career and musical growth continues into 2015, the year which finds Loren spreading her proverbial wings wider than ever before with the release of Butterfly Blue, drawing inspiration from blues and soul music influences in a deeper way than she has in the past, while firmly and unapologetically planting one foot in the jazz realm and the other in pop. She does this without losing any of the warmth, charm and sensuality that has always characterized her unique vocal approach. But the thread that connects the album's mix of jazz and Songbook standards, reimagined pop songs, and original pieces is captured in that seemingly contradictory title."

"A lot of these songs were chosen because they explored different aspects of imprisonment and freedom," Loren explains. "Many of them have to do with ideas of being beholden to thoughts, feelings, and experiences from which you alone can also free yourself."

The album's title marries two original pieces that exemplify that theme. "Butterfly" was written by Loren, who imagined the insect's transformation from the caterpillar's point of view, facing the prospect of having to pass through a literal death in order to experience rebirth, relating the experience to that of human suffering being the catalyst for spiritual growth. "Blue," one of two songs penned by guitarist and songwriter Daniel Gallo, expresses empathy and promises of a brighter future to a lover in the deep throes of melancholy. Joining the two, Loren says, "really felt like an apropos combination. It's about finding the way through the pain of experience to a new, wiser, more beautiful version of yourself. But you have to go through the journey; that's where the real pain happens."

The two songs also boldly spotlight the album's musical influences: the stabbing horns and soulful pleas of "Butterfly" conjure soul touchstones like Otis Redding or Etta James, while "Blue" lives up to its name through Gallo's gut-punch guitar and Loren's powerfully communicated longing. While she's quick to say that Butterfly Blue is by no means a blues or soul album, those storied genres color the whole album. "It has touches of the things that have heavily moved me musically over the years," she says. "I've been a fan of a lot of different kinds of music my whole life, so I was interested in stretching out beyond the territory I've explored over the last few albums and digging deeper into more of my bluesy roots."

To realize those ambitions, Loren added horns and strings to the arrangements in a more extensive way than she has in the past, though with a light and always effective touch. These additional musicians, William Seiji Marsh and Gallo on guitars, David Larsen on saxophone, Joe Freuen on trombone, Dana Heitman on trumpet, Rob Birdwell on flugelhorn and trumpet, and Katherine Dudney on cello, join Loren's longtime core band, (pianist and co-producer Matt Treder, bassist Mark Schneider and drummer Brian West) featured on the majority of the singer's releases to-date. Together the ensemble subtly nods toward classic soul blues sounds within a modern jazz context.

Butterfly Blue begins on a more winsome note, however, with the wordless vocal melody of Loren's "Yellow Bird." Despite the playfulness of the song's Tin Pan Alley feel, however, the lyrics fit the album's darker theme. "The idea of freedom being an internal feeling rather than an external reality came to me in the image of a bird in a cage," Loren says. "I thought, 'What might they dream about?' On the surface, it's kind of a cute song with a cute melody, but the meaning of the lyric goes deeper into more esoteric notions of how subjective our perceptions of 'reality' are, and to what degree we are masters of our own experiences in this life."

The notion of using animals to express deep-felt emotion comes easily to Loren, who has always felt a strong connection to the natural world. Born and raised in Alaska, she's lived for the last 17 years in Oregon, where she maintains a strong connection to the outdoors.

Loren's rendition of Charles Trenet's "I Wish You Love" is a unique hybrid of the original French lyrics, with a brief detour into the better-known but less expressive English lyrics. "Stormy Weather" is stretched into a sultry, teasingly languorous blues, while "Our Love Is Here To Stay" offers a sense of familial nostalgia.

"After The Fall", the second song penned by Gallo, tells a story of a woman in the winter of life, reminiscing about a long lost love through music that formed the soundtrack for those precious memories of youth. "I had the rare opportunity to hear this song as it was coming into being through hands other than my own: an original song I didn't write but that was entirely new to the world, crafted with such a richly emotional story and vivid imagery - it was love at first listen."

"I've Got You Under My Skin" continues the album's theme of emotional or spiritual imprisonment, here captured in the song's tale of uncontrollable obsession, heightened by the spare, snake-charmer tone of the arrangement. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is given a darker-than-usual perspective that illustrates the thoroughfare's hopeless denizens.

Loren's "Danger in Loving You" is reprised from her 2010 live recording Stages, and is included as both a long-overdue studio version of the song as well as a tribute to the vocalist's longtime songwriting partner, Larry Wayne Clark, who passed away in 2013. "Carry Us Through," lifts the spirits by adding New Orleans accents to singer-songwriter Sarah Masen's song of survival, and the set ends on a hopeful note with the late Horace Silver's classic, "Peace."

Loren explains, "The idea of the song is that if you can find peace inside, everything will be all right with the world outside. I love that it embodies a zen-like quality in both message and music while so beautifully reiterating the concept of freedom being a choice, an internal experience. I thought it would really round out the feeling of the album nicely and bring it back to this place of simplicity."

Upcoming Halie Loren Performances:
May 22-23 / Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts / Port Angeles, WA
June 25 / Rochester International Jazz Festival / Rochester, NY
June 26 / Hugh's Room / Toronto, Ontario

"We are thrilled to have Tamar as part of the Killer Tracks family, and excited about the release of Yours to Keep¸ which showcases her continued growth as a performer and songwriter," says Andrew Donahue, Director of Marketing at Killer Tracks. "It's an exciting month for Killer Tracks and Tamar with the launch of her new EP, the music video premiere and her appearance on Eurovision!"

The follow-up to California, Tamar's 2012 EP from Killer Tracks, Yours to Keep marks a step in a new direction for the Armenian-American artist. The five tracks were recorded in live studio sessions in New York City and center on Tamar's impressions of her adopted home. "I wanted this new material to reflect the stage in life I am experiencing now," she says. "Something about New York City inspired me to go in a different sonic direction. I wanted these songs to sound like they were recorded in a living room, with me jamming with a group of friends."

The EP's title track is an honest and engaging ballad where Tamar's charismatic vocal is paired with a solo guitar. "At its core 'Yours to Keep' is a simple pop song, something I always strive for," Tamar observes. "You know you have created something great when you can strip it down to a single instrument and it sounds phenomenal."

Tamar began writing songs when she was 14 and first gained public attention when she won an online singing competition sponsored by the band One Republic. Her first album Sinner or a Saint was released on Interscope in 2010 and was followed by California on Killer Tracks' Artists Series in 2012. Her music has been featured on The Hills, American Idol, Ringer and other television series. She has performed alongside such artists as One Republic, Adam Lambert, Far East Movement and Ellie Goulding. Tamar's appearance tonight on Eurovision will be seen by more than 500 million people in 40 countries.

The song takes listeners on a journey of empowering self-discovery with the captivating hook, "I am beautiful, I am strong, I am everything you want to be." Rebel Flag Salute The New Soul Revolution

So here we go with another band press release and the challenge to say something new about four musicians who want to save the world with a tune, is on.

In the deep end we dive to introduce a crew from the heartlands of Sussex in the UK called Rebel Flag, a force that digs deep into the roots of soul and rock music and mixes it with some true 21st century swagger.

If the current crop of cloned out rock bands and pop factor coveter belt puppets has got you reaching for a new Spotify playlist, then you might want add these boys to it.

A new EP out this summer proves that there is still music being made that has the quality as was laid down in stone in the golden age of popular music.

With an industry that has been kicked and mauled to near extinction over the past 15 years, you may ask yourself why musicians even bother to try and break new music.

Faced with a task of playing hostile venues for little or no money, sales from releases looking unsustainable and companies taking huge cuts from the streaming royalties, it’s never looked so hard for new music to find a rock to stand on.

So with that question in mind who do the Rebel Flag think they are trying to keep the flame burning for original music and killer live shows, maybe because they are all completely mad or maybe because they believe in the connection the music and like-people can bring to the party?

Leading the troops is Irish born singer songwriter and producer Dar.Ra.

His credits go back to the 90's with hits under the disguises of Taste of Paradise, Bliss and an Australian band called Ultra Love Machine, and remixes of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Tears 4 Fears and Savage Garden.

Growing up listening to bands like the Specials, Paul Weller and classic soul and rock from the 60's and 70's is the lifeblood that goes into Dar.Ra and his songwriting.

His live experience has seen him tour around the world solo and with bands over the past 15 years, so much so he has written a book called Road Tales all about the adventures of a musician on the road, which is out this summer to coincide with the debut EP release.

The power punch of the up and coming comes in the form of Aiden a drummer who has all the attitude of Keith Moon, with added virtue of being able to play any kind of vibe at the drop of a hat.

Inventiveness and creativity flows effortlessly for a player under the age of 20 years old, which can only be attributed to his parents having impeccable musical taste and his uncle being the late great John Martyn.

Bring on the new breed. Added to this wild brand is a rising young player from Venezuela Chrissy D, a true bass head, with a capacity to hold a groove from here to eternity. His latin passion and addiction to making music that touches the soul, brings a white heat to the rhythm section.

In a few short months they have swaggered around the South Coast of England reminding people that music still means something in the toxic corporate world of a dying music industry.

And what of the music?
The music is a hybrid of rock mixed with some soul a touch of reggae and a slice of attitude laid on top to give it that fine mix that British bands do so well.

So as your mind suggests we've heard it all before and your ears retreat to your comfort zone, let me tell you that this is something to keep close to your heart.

In doing that one small task, we keep an door open to that tribal power that first hit the dance-floors back in the 50's when Rock n Roll was born.
Ask not what Rock n Roll can do for you but what you can do for Rock n Roll!

"Rich as the darkest Godiva chocolate, the voice gets into your bones until you can barely sleep at night and can’t get through the day without it." – Paste

Rise and Fall's soul-baring songcraft and impassioned performances are the product of an extended period during which the artist experienced a series of major life changes. "These songs are the product of the last few years of my life, which were pretty heavy," Kurtz notes. "My father died. My marriage ended. I moved from Brooklyn to New Orleans. I had a couple years of wild oat-sowing, and then I found a grand new love. There's been a lot to think about and a lot to write about, and all of that is in these songs."

Brooklyn-Based Music Incubator Signs Kerchief To Artist Development & Distribution Deal

(Brooklyn, NY, February 2015) With a well-bred attitude brimming with substance, both musically and lyrically, Kerchief is a welcome departure from what a listener might commonly find from a "twenty-something" female artist on today's Top 40. Kerchief (born Brittany Hill) hails from Ohio, but currently lives in Tennessee, brings a middle America sentimentality and work ethic to her most recent meticulous recording work with producer Matty Amendola.

After calling it quits with her band of seven years, Vanity Theft (Vigilante Music/Adamant Records) Hill's main focus was writing; Towing inspiration from the journey that has led her to where she is today. With five releases, two acclaimed web shows, and worldwide touring history with Hunter Valentine, Taking Back Sunday, and Sick Of Sarah, going solo was a cathartic experience that traced illustrations of what she was going through at that time.

"This album is a chance to connect with all those working so hard to make ends meet and make sense of life, and to remind them to cherish the moment," said Hill. "One day you'll look back and remember what it was like to want to work so hard for something you believed in, and you'll wish you were back there facing the unknown, but doing your best."

Throughout the upcoming album, Hill is commanding attention, asserting herself with the confidence that she needs to be heard. Listeners will not take long the answer the call.

"Machines & Animals" offers tracks that expertly weave Hill's smooth voice with the edge of her songwriting and lyrics. Guitar riffs bite into bass lines that ebb and flow with emotional vocals, taking inspiration from a personal journey. Heavy drum beats and layered guitars articulate the feelings behind stories of the pursuit of finding purpose in life's daily struggles, reflecting an evident influence from ‘90s alternative rock.

"From the writing process to pre-production, to the recording process with producer Matty Amendola, to the finished product, I feel that the songs became fully realized," said Hill. "I never had to bite my tongue. The songs were written from a raw emotional place, experimented with in the studio and brought to their full potential with Matty in Brooklyn, NY. This is the best thing I've done to date."

Amendola knew working with Kerchief would be a perfect fit as soon as he heard her demos. Working closely with engineer and Grammy Award winner Butch Jones, he created a sound that would bring Kerchief's debut album to life.

"What separates this record from the other indie rock out there, is that the songs themselves come first," said Amendola. "It's a rare quality to find an artist who's a real straight shooter and puts so much of her soul into her lyrics, while keeping everything simple and relatable.

After recording with producer Matty Amendola, he brought the full team on board from his music incubator 825 Records and signed Kerchief to an artist development and distribution deal. The first single "Milk & Honey" is slated for a March 24th, 2015 release. Full-length album "Machines & Animals" following in the Spring, as well as a Summer tour with dates to be announced.

Moscow Producer Shintai Releases His Brand New 'Up The Tide EP'

Shintai is the project of Vitaliy Bogachev, a 23 year-old multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer from Moscow, Russia.

He made his debut in the spring of 2014 with his first mixtape as part of the Russian Witch House scene. His last EP release was created entirely from environmental sounds.

Shintai's newest work takes you on a journey of mild natural sounds, minimalistic and clean, drony pads and soundscapes.

Up The Tide chronicles the rising out from depression, fighting your weaknesses and moving up the tide of negative circumstances.

Its about the journey of life and about the fight each of us are trying to win everyday.

Doomed years of chasing your dreams. Black and white sunsets buried under snow. Romanticism of grey skies and industrial landscape. You move up the tide, only to fall down into the void anyway.
