Popkomm is due to significantly broaden the range of international networking events at its relaunch in 2010. This global event for the industry will offer participants professional assistance for setting up international business contacts. At Popkomm 2010 professional networking agents will be on hand for the first time at a specialist music event to make it easier for exhibitors and trade visitors to establish the right contacts. The networking agents will be available throughout Popkomm and will organise networking events such as speed meetings, get-togethers and networking receptions.
"New contacts are the currency in which a B2B platform such as Popkomm is valued. Consequently, we are helping our international trade visitors to make the most of their networking activities", said Daniel Barkowski, Director of Popkomm.
International contacts in the Popkomm Networking Area
In 2010 the Popkomm networking platforms will cater to a wide range of topics. Thus speed meetings in the Popkomm Networking Area involving delegations from Sweden, India, Ireland, Austria, South Africa, Switzerland and other countries will enable participants to quickly and spontaneously exchange ideas with members from numerous parts of the industry. No advance registration is required. The get-togethers of the International Music Managers Forum (IMMF), the Russian Music Export Agency and the CIS States, as well as of the Sound Festival PrimaveraPro from Barcelona will also invite participants to exchange views and get to know management pros. India and South Africa will also be inviting visitors to networking receptions at their respective national pavilions.
Cap Digital will be offering German companies an opportunity to meet seven of France's most innovative companies from the music and digital technology sector at a matchmaking session under the heading of "French Music & Technology Start Ups". The Filmproducers Lounge @ Popkomm will provide yet another matchmaking opportunity, this time with a focus on movie soundtracks. Four experts from the music and filmmaking industry will be available for individual half-hour meetings (by prior arrangement) with trade visitors at Popkomm, and will offer advice on topics that include music licensing, dubbing, soundtrack production and financing, and will put them in touch with film producers and labels.
