London Based Electro-Pop Band Ooberfuse Revive An Iconic Classic

You know a song is great when it keeps being played generation after generation. These songs are known as classics, and they are an iconic piece of art that help shape pop-culture throughout the world. While the concept of redesigning and remixing songs isn’t unheard of, it takes talented musicians to revive an old song and re-establish it’s glory. Ooberfuse, an Electro-Pop band from London is set to do just that with their version of the popular Filipino folk song “Anak” and has a music video to accompany it. The music video for “Anak” follows the band, a British Filipina lead singer and British musician on a journey through the hustle and bustle of the Philippines. During their journey, they encounter various aspects of typical life in the Philippines, as well as some shady, underground features as well. Throughout the clips of the video, the band meets several people and ask them to interpret the lyrics of “Anak’, thus capturing a genuine moment of how people feel about the song. At times, you see people singing, and even dancing to the song, having made up an entire choreography for Ooberfuses’ version of “Anak”.

What’s unexpected however is how the video all ties everything together. From the trips to the market, to a moment with a real-life rooster fight, the video ends with the band assembled in an attire that express their journey through the Philippines. The lead signer is wearing an all black, feathered dressed, while the musicians all wear different clothes representing the different locations they visited through the music video.

Ooberfuse wanted to revive a classic song and may have done so with their visually enriched and catchy pop tunes. As a global release, their hopes are to revitalize the feeling that “Anak” provoked in the 70’s and give a new pop anthem for the new generation of music lovers to enjoy.

Ben Mauro Partners With The V Foundation

Ben Mauro is proud to partner with Dick Vitale’s V Foundation for his upcoming solo CD Release Party. Mr. Mauro is a talented Syracuse native best known as the guitarist for Lionel Richie. He came back to Syracuse for the release of his most recent solo work, an EP entitled “Take Your Time” in May of 2014 and has since continued to work on his first full length solo CD. He plans to debut the new work on Saturday, December 6 in grand style at The Palace Theatre – an historic venue in his hometown. He has partnered with Dick Vitale’s V Foundation as the national charity partner for this event. On a local level, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo at Burnet Park will benefit from Mr. Mauro’s generosity.

Ben first learned of The V Foundation through a series of online interactions his publicist had with Dick Vitale. Mr. Vitale is a huge music fan and Ben was glad to set up an introduction to Lionel Richie when their recent tour stopped in Tampa, FL. After meeting Mr. Vitale and learning more about his zeal for cancer research, Ben decided that he wanted to help. Mr. Vitale’s passion for life and what he does to raise awareness is so contagious that one cannot help but share his feelings. Ben Mauro has planned a CD Release Party to rival any event in town. Russian Born, Ireland Based Singer-Songwriter Larissa Tormey Releases Debut EP, Doors To Joy

Larissa Tormey, a Russian born, Ireland based singer-songwriter, is releasing her debut EP, Doors to Joy, on September 1st with a full-length to follow later in the Fall.

The adult-contemporary artist spent over a year crafting these meaningful, thought provoking songs that are sure to pull at the heartstrings of every human emotion.

The title track, Doors to Joy, is a true love song. But not in the standard sense of one person loving another romantically. It’s much deeper than that. It’s a song about loving life in every possible way, and being able to help someone realize their fullest potential in life. And to realize this full potential, one must unlock their Doors to Joy. This type of love is highlighted in the music video for the title track, which will be released shortly after the EP.

Doors to Joy was recorded in Ventry Studios, Ireland with producer and multi instrumentalist David McCune. The EP additionally includes two bonus acoustic versions of earlier singles, “Addiction” and “Enchanted Night” which were recorded with Irish pianist and musical director, Gavin Murphy, who played piano on all tracks for the EP and album and feature internationally renowned guitarist Bill Shanley, who has worked with artists like Ray Davies, Mary Black and Sinead O Connor.
