Sub Bubble Recording Studios - The 360 MusicExperience

Situated in Wembley, North West London, UK - Sub Bubble Studios is a newly created complex incorporating recording studios, a warehouse space and private indoor skate park.

Whilst the core services at Sub Bubble are Recording, Mixing & Production the studios also boast an impressive warehouse space. The space can cater for a variety of uses ranging from photo and video shoots, showcase gigs through to full-scale live events.

Label Manager and Director Ian Bennett explains "Over the past eight months we're created a veritable smorgasbord of delights for the visual and recording artist. There's no other location in London (or the UK for that fact) where you can write, record, rehearse, skate, slam-dunk, spin tunes, play pool and rave. We have a very simple ethos at the centre of our enterprise... nurture and develop talent from the ground up, support from all angles to benefit all and the greater good. What we have here is more than just a recording studio, it's a bubble of creativeness right next door to one of the world's greatest venues."

The pro recording studio facility consists of two air-conditioned control rooms connected to a central Live Room and additional Recording Lounge on the floor below. The space has been designed to be completely flexible. As well as the acoustically treated recording studios themselves we have tie lines in place so that any area of the building, including the adjoining warehouse area and skate park can potentially be used for recording purposes.

Studio 1 is Sub Bubble's premier recording studio and control/mixing room, centered around the amazing SSL AWS 900+ SE console locked to a fully expanded Pro Tools HD5 rig. Studio 2 at Sub Bubble is a production and editing suite, boasting a separate vocal booth and full connectivity to the live room, Studio 2 and the vocal booth can be used as its own space or fully utilised in conjunction with Recording Studio 1.

Transgressive producer Jim Anderson has recently made Studio 1 his home after adding his exceptional collection of vintage gear to the studio spec and consulting on the ergonomics of the space. Jim has worked with a diverse range of artists including: Blood Red Shoes, Oceansize, The Enemy, Los Campesinos!, Mark Ronson and Hockey. He has recently been mixing upcoming electro outfit Hook And The Twin, producing /recording Hatcham Social and Two Door Cinema Club and has various other bands lining up to work with him?including Flats and Electricity In Our Homes.

Sub Bubble Recordings, now on its second release, focuses on underground house sounds covering the more techy end of the spectrum. Launching with fledging production duo Matt Williams and Bahar Canca. As the label expands it will naturally grow to cover wider styles of music. Each release will include high profile, credible remixers from the cream of the dance scene.

Superdark Music focuses on indie, left of field electronica and grew from a reaction to the mainstream and tired music industry. Always forward thinking and with a fiercely independent ethos, Superdark has championed artists as diverse as Nu-Grave mavericks Lesser Panda, art-indie-oddballs Laurel Collective (current A&R quarry) and garage-rock pop-quirksters Innercity Pirates. The latter's new single "Seen it all Before" is creating a stir in music bibles such as Artrocker, Rocksound and Guardian and early doors radio support comes from the King of Alt. The Chosen View Is Set To Release, The Common Thread On September 21st With Sunset Records

Trying to categorize the Memphis, Tennessee base, Chosen View is an extraordinary assignment, not because the band is considered to confront pure classification of their sound, it is actually because they are indeed, a potential classic indie rock act. The label (Sunset Records) is all about being an indie and the band compliments it by infusing classic art sounds, with other indie rock. The signature Chosen View sound cannot be defined quickly and is suggestive of other Indie acts like The Temper Trap; with soaring vocals, tight guitar work, and colorful layers of production, hooks that build up steadily, and lyrics that are accessible to modern rock listeners today. This first album is filled with attention grabbing vocals, real, and undeniable thoughts in their lyrics, The Common Thread has a classic rock sound with the rigor of a modern day rock act, that technically, the songs and production work perfect making up the ten (10) song debut CD.

Chosen View does make their music genuinely, with ambitious production work (Jason Gillespie). Sub modern / Alternative rock tracks like "Under The Swell" and "Her" offer exceptional vocal chops, with a lot of accessibility, yet a classic feel that breeds longevity in music careers. The other songs loosen up right away with the opener, "Fell Apart," along with "The Dive," and then the added colorful touches on "Reaching Out," create a full length album worth listening to from beginning to the last song ("Over The Line"). The five (5) piece rock act is made up of David Cowell (Guitar/Vocals), Andy Lockley (Vocals), Joshua Myers (Guitar), Davis Sawyer Bass) and Ryan Kildahl (Drums/Percussion).

Some other bright spots are "I Will Rise" and "You Ask Me". The latter song offers music fans many levels of guitar fret work before giving way to a broad based bridge where the lead vocalist David Cowell shows off his chops. The former song has a striking tempo coupled with a high leveled bass line keeping the listener involved all the through to the powerful peaks. "When bands are trying to get record deals, they sometimes give up what is real and what is authentic, to try to achieve that mass popular appeal in the market places, says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Records, "these guys (Chosen View) have hefty songs, with great avenues and serious color, that it’s amazing that we get to work this debut CD." (Don) Lichterman goes onto say about the band, "this is the type of band that will be working making music for decades."

The best moments on the debut CD, The Common Thread, is a sound that has great influences by the likes of Indie bands, Foals, Bloc Party, Temper Trap, Phoenix, and even has that Radiohead feel at times. And, new artists and bands that have a thri9ving industry buzz ("Under The Swell" is featured on the CMJ Sub Modern CD Sampler for September 2010), tends to get plays at popular radio stations. Keep in mind too; the members of Chosen View are very young in age and most young bands have to develop their sound and production. The craftsmanship on this album is very impressive and especially for what is a debut CD being released by Sunset Records on September 21. The musicianship production and sound are exceptional, with the band, and many technically proficient studio players (Richard Thomas, Krysta Wroten, Anna Acosta, Darin Davies, Nick Hein, Rick Steff), and overall, the band has a great ten song full length album ready to be released in September this year (2010).

Robert Lauri - Life

"Life" is a fresh new song from electic musician Robert Lauri's upcoming album entitled 'New Face'. In "Life," Lauri explores wide soundscapes and fluctuant melodies with the use of a series of different instruments. He mixes waves of sound with powerful sonic images to create the effect of music suspended in a time and place where you control the flow of your journey while listening to it.

Lauri enjoys the simple life and the things of nature. The music is very relaxing and the video captures your imagination with scenes of life and native culture.

MusicDish Focuses On GSA Market At Popkomm With New Portal And PR Service

MusicDish, in partnership with Vienna-based Cosinus-arts.com, will be officially launching the MusicDish Edelweiss website and services at this year's Popkomm conference. MusicDish Edelweiss will bridge the linguistic and marketing barriers between the English language and GSA (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) music markets. Cosinus-arts' Dom Kamper and Anthony Kammerhofer will be holding a press conference to unveil the new portal and bilingual PR services on September 9th at 4:00PM at the Glass Lounge by the Popkomm Entrance. Popkomm 2010 will take place in an extraordinary venue between 8th and 10th of September - the now decommissioned airport Berlin Tempelhof.

The latest in MusicDish's international expansion, MusicDish Edelweiss will just as effectively support a German musician touring North America as a US-based recording artists releasing their latest album in the GSA market. Offering full English-German language translation and copywriting, the service provides web-based PR distribution and syndication in both English and GSA online music markets, through Cosinus Arts and Mi2N's integrated networks.

"The global music market is still largely an uncharted and untapped frontier for the independent music industry," noted MusicDish founder Eric de Fontenay. "While we are all united through the Internet, language and culture still represent major barriers for artists and labels wishing to tap into international markets. By partnering with Cosinus Arts, we are able to extend our established PR business to the GSA market and effectively act as a bridge between both markets."

In keeping with MusicDish's longstanding model of information sharing and education, the MusicDish Edelweiss portal will provide coverage of the GSA's music industry with news - including one of the most comprehensive European music newswires - analysis and exclusive interviews with major stakeholders in the GSA live music scene.

Says Anthony Kammerhofer, "Cosinus-arts.com and MusicDish's partnership means giving independent musicians access to intercontinental communication in an unprecedented way." Dom Kamper added that "we are witnessing kind of reverse thrust in communication. Finally, there's 'equality of arms' with both the independent and the major music industries. Cosinus-arts.com and MusicDish will highlight this aspect".

Coinciding with MusicDish Edelweiss' launch this month, MusicDish is a media sponsor of Popkomm 2010 (Berlin), Play Prague (Prague) and Reeper Bahn Festival and Campus (Hamburg).

MusicDish Edelweiss is the second international brand launched this year by MusicDish. MusicDish*China was officially launched at MIDEM 2010 in Cannes and has since been working closely with stakeholders and partners in China and across Asia to build a trans-Pacific platform bridging the two regions. MusicDish*China has sponsored major events from Beijing INTRO 2010 to the Yangtze MIDI Music Festival and Underground HK as well as launching the Tomas Doncker "Small World" Shanghai World Expo Tour this fall.
