ALO Drink Collaborates With Mikronesia To Launch ALOtones—Adds Music Inside Every Drink Flavor

Today announces the official launch of ALOtones™, an electronic music album inspired by the flavors inside every ALO Drink. It spans the genres from ambient soundscapes to experimental pop music. ALO Drink collaborated with Philadelphia-based musician/composer Mikronesia to produce the original tracks and compilation album, giving the composer each of the eight flavors to draw inspiration from.

“Each drink with its exploding colors, rich flavors and the simply beautiful text describing each flavor from Magma created a rush of sonic idea in my head about how to emote each drink with a unique sound”, said Mikronesia. Every track is inspired by the different natural ingredients mixed with pure aloe vera juice and pulp. After tasting each drink, Mikronesia composed the scores for each flavor, letting the different notes of the beverage influence the music.

“I never experienced a beverage like this [ALO Exposed], with so much texture and richness.”, Mikronesia said. When asked about his approach to the track New Leaf, he said, “The second section of the song has simple melody on the piano mixed with introspective synthesizer sounds that offers the listener this glimpse of being overwhelmed with texture and raw experience.”

Consumers can access their drink’s ALOtone by scanning a custom QR-Code printed on every ALO Drink bottle. From there, they can listen, download, or share their flavor’s track. Furthermore, consumers can enter UPC codes to unlock and download even more music. ALOtones can also be streamed for free on Facebook.

Morribi Records Launches New Website To Secure Record Contracts For Indie Artists

Morribi Records is launching a new website, designed to provide opportunities for unsigned independent artists by promoting their music onsite and “shopping” the top artists to music industry executives and professionals. The announcement was made by Okems Bright, Morribi’s Founder & CEO.

The end objective is to secure contracts with record labels, after an extensive process of artist development. Morribi Records has been assisting artists in this capacity since 2008 in Africa, Asia, and the UK, but created the site to reach more artists and provide a platform where the public and social networking sites also play a role in the final selection process. Artists must be able to play, sing, or produce, and they have an active ReverbNation account.

The first step is the submission of one song to the website. The Morribi Records team reviews all songs received, and selects the best of them. Each artist who is chosen has their song featured via a customized player for 24 hours, along with biographical information and a link to their ReverbNation page. After 24 hours, another artist is spotlighted, while the top 10 songs, based on the total number of plays, are continuously streamed.

Top 10 artists receive video, audio, and written interviews, and have press releases and track reviews written on their behalf. They may also elect to record with other Top 10 artists for more exposure and to highlight their diversity. These artists are groomed for success in every aspect of the industry. Each quarter, two artists are chosen from this group based on aggregated data such as the total number of plays, popularity on ReverbNation, social media site statistics (Facebook and Twitter), and the recommendations of record industry executives and professionals. Morribi Records then collaborates with labels to secure a record contract. If the artist accepts the contract, Morribi Records receives a small, previously discussed and agreed upon percentage, which is recycled back into the program to assist others.

Morribi Records partners with MusicDish,, Island Records, Def Jam Recordings, MTV, ReverbNation, and The Entertainment Bank in this endeavor. Other services provided to artists include comprehensive management, development and promotion, digital distribution, concert and world tours, and gig swaps. Morribi Records also works with young ladies toward careers in modeling, acting, or dancing. The website will officially launch in September 2012.

Guitarist, Adrian Galysh, has enlisted Styx stickman, Todd Sucherman, to contribute drums and percussion to his new record, “Tone Poet”. Todd is a really tasteful drummer, very musical, with a ton of chops - totally in league with the likes of Colaiuta, Smith, and Bozzio.”
