Anders Helmerson "Quantum House Project"

Anders Helmerson is the artist who has been known as a prog fusion composer and cult keyboard player since his sold-out first album "End Of Illusion" (1981).
He has previously released 3 albums, the most recent Triple Ripple was released in 2011 where he collaborated with German drummer Marco Minneman and American bassist Bryan Beller.

What has happened since then?
One thing: Anders has put his electronica behind and plays acoustic grand piano in collaboration with his new trio. This new outfit came as a surprise to many with what it have conceived and many fans was disappointed but he has now gained many new listeners. He still underline that the type of music he is composing now does not differ much from before although the timbre is different.

And due to this timbre the music he produces has suddenly become accepted in the jazz venues. The setting grand piano, drums ( played by Christian Grassart ) and electric bass ( played by Thierry Conand) makes the outcome feel more jazzy and organic. The music is energetic and loud but at the same time lyrical sensitive.

The new trio, named by Anders as "Quantum House Project" is now playing live shows in UK and France. Following by the successful live show at Vortex Jazz Club in London, UK on 4th September 2018, the new album will officially be released on Saturday 3rd November 2018 at PizzaExpress Jazz club in Soho, London, UK at 1PM for a new album release launch party with Anders solo grand piano teaser performance as the background music for the industry networking.

The trio gigs will follow at full live shows after the album launch in later dates, including Paris-Prague Jazz Club on Saturday 26 January 2019 and more gig dates will be added and gig bookings to the clubs are now open via his management at Manager@AndersHelmerson.com

The name Quantum House eludes to the modern science of quantum mechanics that has been a source of inspiration for Anders when he wrote he music and titles as Superposition and Entangle reflects his philosophy in terms of how nature influences the creative process of writing music.
Prior to the album version, the single Entangle in now on the major music download and streaming services such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and so on.

The new album "Quantum House Project" will be on sale for worldwide distributions on 3rd November 2018.

Album Review by The Grouch | In The Rockies

Hej America!

Today is a bit of a special day here in Grouchland. Why you ask? Well, today’s review is of an album of songs, most of which were composed solely by one of my favorite musicians, Gar Francis. For those who do not know, Gar is a wizard of musical creativity. Over the years I have heard many songs from Gar’s colossal body of work and I can honestly say I have not heard anything by Gar that I disliked. This is an album of songs composed either solely by Gar or in collaboration with other talented musicians. This album. at least in my opinion, further solidifies Gar’s position among other behind-the-scene greats such as Bob Ezrin and Mutt Lang.

Track 1 - Baby Let's Go - Tom Vicario 2:42 - This is classic Country Gar and Tom delivers a great rendition. I am a sucker for that twangy guitar. Tom’s voice fits well with this style of music. When the solo kicks in the listener is reminded that Rock and Roll is basically a fusion of African inspired soul and Country. This track reminds me of old Roy Orbison or anyone one of the first-generation rockers. All in all, this is a good song that is played flawlessly by Tom Vicario.

Track 2 - Come On Come On - The Easy Outs 3:10 - The raunchy 60s sound is alive and well in this track performed by the Easy Outs. The music grinds and the old-school licks blister as the organ adds some groove around the edges. This is a dancer’s track for sure. The vocals are spot on as the old time Rock and Roll vibe fills the air. What’s not to love, with wicked guitar licks, a funky bass, a rock-solid drummer and lyrics that state “You make a monkey crazy! Come on come on!” I really like this band!

Track 3 - I Won't Cry Anymore - Genya Ravan (of Ten Wheel Drive) - 4:35 - This is a massive blues jam that I can’t get enough of. Listen to this song and tell me you can’t feel the soul. Genya has a great voice and the backup singers just add to the magic. There is a massive amount of Motown goodness in this track. I want to give a special nod to Genya’s drummer, Bobby Chen. Amazingly, he stands out despite being behind a truly wicked guitar player and some of the most soulful vocals I have ever heard. This is without a doubt a great song.

Track 4 - Satisfied - Tyce Green 4:17 - This track is from the 80s influenced Pop-Metal Gar. The track is performed by Tyce Green and reminds me of the stuff that was popular back in the day. I am thinking of April Wine or even Billy Squire. There is enough rock here for guys to dig it and enough sensitivity in the vocals for their girlfriends to get them to come to the show. In short, this is a good song reminiscent of 1982 which, at least for me, was a very good year. This song is well executed, radio-friendly hard-pop.

Track 5 - Born Dainty - Kelly Caruso (of American Idol) - 3:44 - First things first, I dig the music. It's got an old Charlie Daniels - Skynyrd feel. As an old drummer, I have to say I really like what Keith Reil is doing. I also dig the leads Gar pulls out at the tail end of the song, and some people say Country doesn't jam! When done right, it jams indeed. Kelly has a strong voice that gets better on the chorus. She can sing and seems to have the kind of gutsy attitude that I dig.

Think of a kind of Country Gore Gore Girls and you are on the right track. This is a good song from a young woman with a strong voice and some really good players.

Track 6 - Meet Me - Ricky Persaud Jr 4:12 - It really doesn’t get much better than this. Gar is a fantastic songwriter and there are not many people who can jam as much as Ricky Persaud Jr. I have been a big fan of Ricky’s since I first heard him quite a while back. Simply put the man can do wonders on any instrument he chooses to use, including his voice. The Reggae vibe is strong, and I am brought back to a conversation I had a long time ago with a cat I knew who was playing drums in a Reggae band. He said to me “Once you go Reggae there is no going back.” Listen to this song. When I do I have to admit I have percussion envy.

Track 7 - Sweet Sunshine - The Satisfactors 3:38 - I first heard about the Satisfactors a few years ago. I dig what they do! This is a band made up of a bunch of guys who are bursting with in-your-face soul. The singer sings well. The rhythm section is rock solid, and the guitars are on fire. I dare anyone to listen to this track and not be in a better mood by the end of the song. A long time ago, when the Walkman first came out, I had a friend who would say "Here, have a little Alice. You'll feel better." Then he would give you the headphones and Billion Dollar Babies would blast through your brain. Well, here, have a little Satisfactors. You'll feel better.

Track 8 - Rush On You - Mark Lindsay (former lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders) - 2:40 - One word: JAM! This reminds me of something our band instructor back in Jr. High school would say. If we had managed to make some particularly soulful noise Mr. Case would look at us, grin and say in his cigarette damaged voice: Sometimes you cats can wail. Well folks, this track wails!

Track 9 - A Spy For Love - Mia Moravis 2:32 - I had no idea they were making a new James Bond film. They must be because this track is absolutely meant to be the theme song for a James Bond flick. The camp factor is over the top as Mia sultrily sings that she is a Spy For Love. The thing is that despite the intentional campiness and the omnipresent musical kitsch, the music on this track is really well played. Mia has a very good voice and the band actually makes the song groove. (I do have to wonder how many times they had to do a retake because the band was cracking up?)

Track 10 - A Special Girl - Jim McCarty (of the Yardbirds) - 4:45 - The first thing the listener notices is the melodic groove that could easily fit in the background of a cocktail party or with a bunch of young neo-hippies hanging in the park. I actually mean that as a compliment. The music does have some Adult Contemporary overtones that would make a dentist smile, but if you really listen to the track you will hear a subtle, yet smoking guitar. That guitar behind the easy-on-the-ears voice really works together to create something special that just may take a couple of listens to fully appreciate. When all is said and done, I find myself speechless and thinking “now that is one cool way to rock and roll.”

Track 11 - Ballerina Of The Bowery - Jana Peri 4:10 - I dig this song. The Bo Diddley vibe is just too cool. Man, the drummer, Kurt Reil, is laying it down! When you combine those drums with the ultra-raunchy guitar (Gar Francis) the song is mind-bending. Add in the vocals and the track goes from mind-bending to absolutely mind-blowing. This song has anthem written all over it. I dare anyone to listen to this track and not start to groove along.

Track 12 - Break It Down - Anthony Krizan (of the Spin Doctors) - 4:29 - WICKED! Good God I love well-used feedback! The blues simply does not get any raunchier or grittier than this. The cool thing about this track is that while the music is head-splitting level loud and confrontation the vocals are, believe it or not, melodic. The background vocals only add to the contrast of the out of control, fire-breathing dragon on lead guitar. Out of all of the truly fine tracks on this album, this could very well be my favorite.

Track 13 - Fool For Your Love - Crab Bubbles Band 2:47 - The heavy groove continues. There is no doubt that the Crab Bubbles Band can make some noise. The melodic verse is almost a relief from the intensity of the chorus. (Who am I kidding? It can never be too intense!) This song is so good I find myself wishing I was in this band. Excellent work!

Track 14 - Make Up Your Mind - Inches From Sin 3:24 - This song is interesting. On the one hand, it sounds so cheery, but there is a menacing machine-like sound grinding just underneath the pleasant keyboards. I am really curious, given the name of the band, is this a simple love song or do the singers have some darker nefarious purpose in mind for the person they are en-couraged to make up their mind?

Track 15 - Shine Your Love - Kathryn Shipley 3:53 - Kathryn starts out with some really nice soulful keys. I really am feeling a Band groove here. Then the vocals come in. Man, she has a great voice! The background singers definitely add to the soulful vibe. Then it dawns on me this is the stuff all the great Motown singers grew up singing. This song could be from a church service, albeit not the kind I attended as a kid. This song would fit into a church service where the people rock out. You have to listen to the piano (Eric Barfield) runs in this track. The pi-ano, with the organ in the background, the wicked guitar on the edge, the backup singers all provide an outstanding platform for Kathryn to absolutely wail! I dig it.

Track 16 - The Hand Of Fate We Hold - The Corridors 3:30 - The Corridors are a band I quite like. The prowess of their keyboard player is not to be denied. Just when the listener feels immersed in a sea of keyboard produced sound the guitar opens up with a tsunami of laser-guided precession sonic blasts that leaves the listener, well at least this listener, speechless. Over the top of this massively intense yet oddly melodic jam is a voice that is simply awe-inspiring. The man (Adi Mosko) can sing! This is a fantastic track that deserves to be listened to, frequently.

I should mention, as the name of the album is The Gar Francis Songbook Volume One by Various Artists that all of the songs with the exceptions listed below, were written by Gar

Francis.

Sweet Sunshine by Gar Francis, Bruce Ferguson & Kurt Reil

A Special Girl by Gar Francis & Jim McCarty

Bread It Down by Gar Francis & Anthony Krizan

Make Up Your Mind by Gar Francis, Robert Brewer & Karen Holloway Brewer

The Hand of Fate We Hold by Gar Francis & Richard X Heyman

The bottom line is this is a fantastic album that I am sure will be enjoyable to listen to for years to come. - The Grouch | in the Rockies

Obsidian - Throw It Back with Their Latest, 'XV'

The men who make up Obsidian have pasts made up of a variety of sounds, but they came together to form a band that took a page out of the past, tossed in a raw element and resulted in an eclectic mass of rock. Their album, XV, was recorded in one take, song after song with no breaks, no effects minus a bit on guitar, just a few men and their instruments taking on their craft with precision.

Cole and Reggie came up together in the Orange County scene back in the 80's and after they connected with Brad, their sound transformed from what was popular at the time, New Wave, to a more substance filled rock. Meeting in the halls of their high school, their love of music was undeniable - no matter the genre, and Cole notes, "Since we got together the first time we have been jamming and experimenting ever since." That experimentation has led them to their latest, XV, an album that Cole knows is standing out from the current releases, "I don't believe anyone is doing this except maybe Jack White, who is looking at the old blues bands and their simplicity to form an eclectic prequel to relive what was good about back then."

With their raw take on rock, Obsidian has kept busy playing around Orange County in San Clemente, Dana Point and Costa Mesa, but they are currently planning on branching out and hitting the festival circuit come the summer - as well as leaving California.

Those interested in hearing more from Obsidian, or booking them for a festival this summer, can check them out online or get in touch with the info provided below.

Electropop Artist, Nearly a Nation, Keeps Momentum Going With Songs of Protest and Hope on New Album

Columbus, Ohio-based electropop singer/songwriter/producer Nick Long, also known as Nearly a Nation, is releasing his new album "Conquest" on April 14th, featuring inspiring stories and extraordinary sounds after a year of hard work and dedication. NaN's music talent and sense of national consciousness is sure to make this album stand out and shine within the electronic music scene.

Conquest is the second album of what NaN alludes to as a seven-part series, one he plans to finish over the course of the next five to six years. Despite tackling such heavy topics as mass surveillance on the track "Strange Days" and government corruption on "Tornado," one still has the sense NaN remains optimistic with tracks like "Pioneers" and "You and I Will Be Alright." Long's ability to juxtapose critiques of our current world with hope for the future gives meaning to his moniker, Nearly a Nation.

"Conquest" Track Listing:
1. Strange Days
2. Pioneers
3. Tornado
4. I Wanna Feel Everything
5. Improvise
6. All We Want
7. You and I Will Be Alright

When expressing his ideologies in his music, NaN does the writing, recording and mixing all by himself as a one person band. In addition, he also designed a number of the tonal/instrumental sounds himself for Conquest. His debut self-released album Outburst proved his musical ability by winning him Best Song Dance/Electronica for January 2016 from The Akademia, which described his single 'Radiate' as "demonstrating unusual vocal talent and musical imagination... [and it] may very well be the power pop vehicle to lift Nearly a Nation to the global stage."

Robert Kramer Releases New Single In Honor Of Billy Joels' "Piano Man" Induction By The National Recording Preservation Board

Dimension One Records announces the official release of "Just Another Piano Man," the new single by Robert Kramer, from the upcoming album Shadow Logic. The song was penned by Kramer as a tip-of-the-hat to Billy Joel's iconic hit, "Piano Man;" an homage to the song being recently inducted into the Library of Congress.

"Just Another Piano Man," echoes Kramer’s personal sentiment of working the piano-bar circuit as a struggling musician. The Library’s National Recording Board (NRPB) chooses 25 recordings that are deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant," every year, and graciously, Kramer’s enticing piece has made the cut for 2016.

"Every musician who has ever experienced what its like to be a "Piano Man" owes a vote of thanks to Billy Joel for that song," comments Kramer, who knows first-hand the challenges and often thankless job of playing for inattentive bar patrons.

"Playing in a piano bar can be frustrating; it teaches you humility, endurance and patience," he quips. "But it can also be incredibly rewarding as well...it gives you the chance to make a difference up-close and personal. It made me a better musician and performer, not to mention getting repeated requests for that song in one night," Kramer laughs. "Every musician who’s been a piano man has their own story to tell about it; "Just Another Piano Man" was mine."

Kramer, who also writes music for film and television, has worked the piano bar circuit in between recording and producing a number of albums and music videos. The energetic and passionate tune shares the frustration and pitfalls of being a piano man on the lounge circuit; a theme many musicians can relate to. The track gracefully shows Kramer’s skills as a musician, lyricist and songwriter; the ultimate triple threat.

The lyrics of the piece contain a name-dropping litany of artists Kramer has received requests for night after night. "They're all there, from Sinatra to Gaga, and everything in between...I've even had requests for opera," Kramer states.

He nervously adds, "I just hope Billy approves..." It’s pretty certain that Joel will....

Dull Unconscious Man is Music for the Cognitive Elite!

Stuck With Green & Evan Zappa have been collaborating on both wild and zany satirical comedy and profoundly serious electronic industrial mayhem for the past 6 years. In 2014, their uniquely creative synergy resulted in the release of Songs Dad Won't Let Me Sing, a mix of novelty, comedy and experimental-electronic music released through Starburst Music Publishing. In 2016, the pair hooked up again to release Dull Unconscious Man, a significantly more serious initiative.

As the oldest of eight siblings, SWG's parents had a novel way of handling the household chaos. "To keep our belongings straight, Mom and Dad color-coded everything… I got stuck with the color green." Stuck With Green has won numerous songwriting competitions and placed several scores into TV shows including the Dr. Oz Show and True Hollywood Stories.

Knowing that Necessity Is the Mother of Invention, Evan Zappa's unstoppable creative passion helped launch his illustrious songwriting career. A genius for collaboration with over 200 songs featured on TV shows, Film, Commercials, etc., Evan's music is definitely in the "Prime Time" zone!

So with thunderous electronic industrial madness, we introduce to you the Dull Unconscious Man project. D.U.M. questions the very essence of changes to the human condition in the digital age and also includes a remix of the title song which pokes a thoughtful and humorous stick within the very eye of politics.

Hot New Synthpop Recording Artist Christine Lee Releasing Album 'Cool Feeling' In Time For Summer

Christine Lee is an American actress/model whose novel synthpop album, Cool Feeling, successfully fuses today's modern pop style with retro sounds of the 80s and 90s. The songs are fun, melodic, danceable, and upbeat. Her professionally produced tracks refreshingly balance clean vocals, ultra cool synth sounds, and edgy pop/rock guitar.

Tweens, teens, and college students who are into electronic synthpop music, will definitely be in for a treat with Christine's debut album. All four tracks are extremely danceable and upbeat, with infectious melodies, and lyrics that younger audiences can totally relate to. Her songs uniquely balance solid clean vocals, world-class guitar tracks by the legendary Tim Pierce (session guitarist for Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Selena Gomez), and sophisticated cutting-edge synthesizer sounds. Cool Feeling is due to be released May 25, 2016 and will be available on Amazon.com as well as through Christine's official website: christineleetalent.com

Christine views her music as an opportunity to both inspire and entertain. In her words: "Music affects one's heart and soul. If you want to be happy, listening to upbeat positive music is important." The album is an artistic manifestation of Christine's life motto to "light a candle rather than curse the dark."

Award-Winning Band HERRICK Releases New Album Cottonfields

They are award-winning, and dancing on a multi-genre musical radar. And now, after the trendsetting self-made album, New Dance, Herrick is back with another ballsy opus.

Cottonfields was produced by Herrick and veteran producer David Walker. Vocalist Donna Herrick, along with husband and bass player, Kerry Herrick, guitarist Jefferson Rogers, and drummer Jeff Bradshaw, began writing for the album in early 2014. The result is an collection that offers a panoramic sonic experience, with a variety of themes, all wrapped in characteristic Herrick musicianship, showcasing Donna's power vocals with driving harmonies.

It is a kind of roots/rock Americana music that borders on folk literature.

Themes of empowerment, freedom, spirituality, the importance of preserving traditions and cultures are woven throughout Cottonfields. The title track is authentic American music. It is an intricate mix of primitive music that was brought here by immigrants, wanderers and slaves and was blended into a joyful language that changed the way the world thinks about music. Like others before them, Herrick explores a variety of musical influences and adds that distinctive Herrick touch.

"The uniqueness of this project comes not from one or multiple sources or backgrounds, rather, a comradery and respect in combining each of our roots, love of music, accompanied with a combination of a well rooted-progressive style that we, as a band, can call our own," says Kerry.

Herrick has become known for the band's high energy live performances. Herrick, winner of an IMA (Independent Music Award), is one of busiest touring acts on the road, and all of that mileage and direct fan contact has provided an excellent education for the band in what people love and want to hear.

"I think what people love about us is the energy we generate playing together and feeding off each other," says singer/songwriter Donna Herrick. "There's a lot of drive in our band, and we managed to capture that on this record. We love the music that we cut our teeth on and it'll always be part of us, but we've reached the point where we're consciously trying to push things forward."

Killer pipes and mold shattering songwriting come together in an album that transcends genre. The new album defines no-holds-barred by combining the very roots of American music with an openly rockin' and revolutionary flavor.

"It's roots music, a powerful type of folk literature. Woven into the songs are themes of empowerment, freedom, spirituality, the importance of preserving traditions and cultures," explains Donna.

Cottonfields represents a rite of passage for a band that is knocking on the door of greatness.

Cottonfields is available April 15. Pre-Orders are now available through iTunes and Amazon

Killer Tracks Adds Soul to Artist Series with New Release from Luke McMaster

I Feel Alive, a collection of 13 pop-driven, original songs from blue-eyed soul singer Luke McMaster, is the latest addition to Killer Tracks' acclaimed Artists Series. The tracks are available for licensing through www.killertracks.com and for commercial purchase on iTunes. Killer Tracks is the leading source for today's hottest pre-cleared production music.

"Luke McMaster writes great music with memorable melodies and big catchy choruses," says Carl Peel, Killer Tracks Vice President of Production. Luke's songs are real and emotionally relevant, and they work with visuals. Very few people can nail all that. Luke did."

McMaster wrote and produced the 13 tracks featured on I Feel Alive in tandem with award-winning songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Arun Chaturvedi. They were recorded at Lakewood Studios, Toronto. "The music pulls from a variety of influences…soul, pop, hip hop, R&B and Motown," observes McMaster. "The common thread is that they are very melodic. I love melody, and I like to write songs that put smiles on people's faces!"

Formerly one-half of the gold-selling Canadian duo McMaster & James, Luke McMaster has earned popular and critical acclaim for his passionate, contemporary take on classic soul and early Motown-influenced music. His debut solo release All Roads drew sparkling reviews and produced the hit "Good Morning Beautiful" (featuring Jim Brickman) which vaulted to number 3 on Billboard's AC Radio charts.

McMaster has collaborated with such artists as Rihanna, Nick Lachey, Kyle Riabko and Marc Jordan. His songs have been featured in the television series Degrassi and The Next Generation. His latest commercial album, Trending, will be released this spring.

McMaster is excited about working with Killer Tracks and proud to have I Feel Alive selected for the Artists Series catalog. "Connecting with Killer Tracks was a beautiful thing," he says. "We were instantly on the same ‘song sheet.' They encouraged us to spread our wings and be true to ourselves. They want real songs that speak to people, tracks with depth and that elevate whatever they are synced with."

"When people hear these songs, the melodies will stick in their heads and they'll find themselves singing along to the radio in their heads," says Peel. "It's Luke's songs and his soulful voice."

Launched in 2012, Killer Tracks' Artist Series features original tracks from breakout artists from across the spectrum of popular music. Previous releases include work for The Mutants, Rev Theory, Rare Monk, Shiny Toy Guns, Tamar Karprelian, Misun and Alex Band. The venture has led to a number of notable licensing deals.

Steel Notes Magazine | Music Review
Out Of The Garage, Vol. 1
By Dana Saravia – Life-long rock & roller, current music critic and Girl From Baltimore
(www.steelnotesmagazine.com)

Being a huge fan of garage rock, I always look forward to hearing compilations that feature a variety of garage bands. Never knowing what you're going to find, but always hoping it will be something special is half the fun of hearing any compilation. Thankfully, Out Of The Garage, Vol. 1 is fun and then some all the way through with a variety of garage bands each with their own style and presence.

The legendary Mark Lindsay provides one hell of a strong lead off track with "Like Nothing That You've Seen", which also sounds like nobody else. With a seductive vibe and great groove, this track is an instant earworm. The Wee Gees tear it up on the second track with "You Gotta Work". A high energy blast featuring some fabulous sax, it sounds like a lost 60s gem. It's impossible not to turn this up and dance. Next up is Rage Of Angels, an all girl garage band that combine the sweet melodies of 60s girl groups with an edgier pop sound. "Nothing To Brag About" (featuring the late John Jennings as a guest guitarist providing some stand out work) is an FU break up song that leaves a strong impression. NJ natives The Accelerators are next with "Take It Or Leave It". With lyrics like "I love you, but I hate you/I want you, but I don't need you", it's power pop full of swagger and attitude, showing the band at their best. Track 5 brings us "Half A Mile Away", the second song by Rage Of Angels to be included here. "Half A Mile Away" continues in the same style of the earlier song with a bit more musical crunch added. KickBend is next with "Spin", a song about information overload with a straightforward beat and a dash of humour. The seventh track is "Broken Record", the latest from The Catholic Girls. Using sparkling vocal harmonies and fuzzed out guitar, the Girls create a memorable pop song about longing for lasting love that's a worthy addition to their discography and to this compilation. Next up is The Chords UK making a very welcome return with their single "I Can't Let Go". One of the original bands of the 70s mod revival in the UK, this song is a knockout with all the smarts and attitude you'd expect and then some. Zombie Garden Club bring us the ninth track here, "Hey Little School Girl". With bright organ taking the lead and snarly guitar threaded in, this song has an mid 60s vibe would sound right at home next to Shadows of Knight or Stones from that era and it sounds great here too. The final track of the album is The Satisfactors' "Sweet Sunshine". A super group featuring members of The Grip Weeds and The Doughboys among other well-known and well respected garage rock stars, the combination of songwriting and performing can be heard in this track. A blast of sunny summer energy and melodic rock with a danceable groove, this song is well chosen to close out this compilation.

Out Of The Garage Volume 1 is one of the best current garage rock compilations I've had the pleasure to hear recently. There were strong songs from a variety of bands and the songs included let each band's style and personality shine through. An excellent compilation from start to finish.

Hot New Single "My Team Go Harder" by BH&MM

The group thing proved to be unsuccessful for both Hurst and Mayne so they both set out seeking success in solo careers. Years passed, time passed and friends changed but the love for the game was still there in both parties. In 2010, Big Hurst and Mysta Mayne met for the first time at a run down hotel room in Lafayette, Louisiana. Both artists were signed to a label run by another well known local artist, (Vicious) called Vicious Entertainment. Originally, Hurst and Mayne were in a group with 5 other artist in the area called the Vicious All-stars. An album was put together in a timely fashion but never released due to technical issues with the label. Eventually both artist stood out on songs and performances and soon had a realization that they were the life of the label and proceeded to team up. In 2012, Hurst and Mayne released a mix tape on Vicious Entertainment called Hustle & Muscle. They hit the streets with the 90’s hustle out of the trunk and sold almost 20,000 copies hand to hand. Till this day, no artist in the Lafayette area has come close or matched the numbers these two put up on a mix tape. Things at Vicious entertainment started going south for both artists so in 2013 they decided it was time to cut ties with the label and move on. Later that year BH & MM, inked a deal with another local label called shake back Entertainment and the rest is history! With packed venues, and thousands of records sold both artist have developed a confidence like no other, spitting out raw, uncut, melodious rhymes. With the biggest performance of their career to date at the Cajun dome with a well known nationwide artist such as Lil Boosie, Z-ro, Jeezy and Kevin gates, Hurst and Mayne are striving to get the recognition they deserve. BH & MM has worked with a number of artists such as Vicious, Cupid, C-Loc, Moneybags, Hatch boy and T-Barker. With the first album called Now-or-Never set to be released on Shake back Entertainment, both artist are ready for the lime light and will do whatever it takes to get there.

Gary Lucas & Jann Klose's STEREOPTICON Album In Digital Stores

Guitarist Gary Lucas and singer Jann Klose's new album, STEREOPTICON is now out on Cosmic Trigger Records/The Orchard. This is a songwriter's album, probably most at home with fans of AAA, indie, acoustic folk-pop/"urban Americana" music.

Also active songwriters, Gary and Jann collaborated on songs over the past three years. Their friend Dan Beck, who has written with Dion DiMucci, the Iron City Houserockers, Felix Cavaliere, joined them as lyricist on 6 songs. In September 2014 and June 2015, Jann and Gary recorded 10 songs in New York City's premiere analog studio The Maid's Room.

STEREOPTICON can be found on all digital stores, including iTunes at: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/stereopticon/id1065240432 and on Amazon at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018ZPIXGE.

DCRocks' David Hintz writes about the album, "This is quite an exciting collaboration that makes a lot of sense. Lucas is more the veteran creative songsmith and Klose the younger, though well beyond rookie status, singer songwriter. They both understand the trippier original aspects to song structures with Lucas' resume bordering on unbelievable as he has worked with Captain Beefheart, Peter Hammill, and Bryan Ferry."

Music writer Arthur Levy posts of seeing Gary and Jann live at the Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 in New York City, "Memorable night indeed, the Gary and Jann project exceeded all expectations, and what a great little music room."

STEREOPTICON is produced by Jann, Gary, and Dan, who call themselves "Dr. Tre." The album was engineered by Jack McKeever (Joan As Police Woman, Anna & Kate McGarrigle) and Jason Candler (Queen Esther), who also plays soprano sax on "Nobody's Talking" and tenor sax on "Well of Loneliness." STEREOPTICON was mastered by Ben Kesler (Robert Randolph and the Family Band).

Gary's co-written hits with Joan Osborne: "Spider Web," and Jeff Buckley's signature songs "Grace" and "Mojo Pin" from the singer's double platinum album, GRACE. He's worked extensively with Captain Beefheart. ROLLING STONE says Gary is, "One of the best and most original guitarists in America...a modern guitar miracle." He just received the Premio Ciampi Lifetime Achievement Award in Italy, named for one of Italy's most famous songwriters. In 2014, Gary received the Ambassador's Award for Cultural Diplomacy from the US Consul General of Milan. His long-awaited GARY LUCAS' FLEISCHEREI: MUSIC FROM MAX FLEISCHER CARTOONS will be released on Cuneiform, February 2016. He is currently collaborating with Steve Kilbey (The Church), and Chris Shinn (new lead singer of Live), and was (this fall) Music Director of "State of Grace," a multi-artist Australian tribute to Tim and Jeff Buckley.

Born in Germany and raised in Kenya, South Africa and the United States, Jann Klose is currently collaborating with Ann Hampton Callaway, Renaissance's Annie Haslam, Hall & Oates' John Oates and The Yardbirds' Jim McCarty. In 2015 Jann and his music appeared in the short film THE BEAUTY OF DISASTER (Glimmer Girl, USA) and the award-winning Australian feature documentary A VENUE FOR THE END OF THE WORLD (BrinkVision, USA). His most recent album, MOSAIC won three 2014 Independent Music Awards and charted for several months on the AMA and Roots Rock charts.

Gary and Jann both worked on the movie GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus/Universal). Jann is the singing voice of Tim Buckley, while Gary consulted and played guitar. Tony Award winner Frank Wood plays Gary in the film.

Oakland, CA-based surf rock trio Shark in the Water, have released their debut full length album "Every Week Is Shark Week" and are currently streaming the album online at sharkinthewater.net. The album is available now for purchase on CDBaby (www.cdbaby.com/cd/everyweekissharkweek) with iTunes, major streaming services and other digital retailers following shortly.

Comprised of guitarist Jim Utterback, bassist Jerry Langhorst, and drummer Dale Conboy, Shark in the Water prides themselves on their unique brand of hard-hitting, gritty surf music.
