Contigo me Voy MASTER

"With Contigo me Voy, Ricky Rick & DJ Kane have taken a fusion of catchy notes and club-ready beats to its full extent. The Kumbia feel gives the song an appealing tone to go along with the sleek and polished additions of hip-hop, dancehall reggae, and contemporary pop sounds. With spring and summer fast approaching, Ricky Rick & DJ Kane seem all but poised to create the club soundtrack of the year."

"Toronto being one of my favorite cities, I am thrilled to bring my band up to play the festival!" said Maya. "We don't usually play so late, but I once faked an orgasm onstage (just vocally, mind you) for a very late night show, to get a rowdy crowd's attention. So whatever happens this time round, I'm sure we'll have a great time."

"We'd love for folkie Maya Solovey to sing us to sleep. Under the stars. But we'll settle for being wide awake at Rockwood Music Hall." --The Skint NYC

"Possibly the sexiest voice since Eartha Kitt." --Take This Bread

About Maya Solovey
Her appearance may be at once celestial and disarming, yet Maya Solovey’s music is decidedly sure-footed and grounded. Although her compositions are unique and often unexpected, there is a palpable coherence and confidence to Maya’s music which allows her listeners to recognize the mark of a young musician who seeks perfection. As a result, Maya’s audience is always afforded the pleasure of feeling safe in her music. This is not to insinuate that her music is tamed, subdued, or simple--for it is anything but.

Raised in the Berkshire Hills and schooled in Massachusetts, Ecuador and Spain, Maya began composing and recording songs at fifteen, and released her first album at seventeen. Now, at age 25 Maya has merged the acoustic/folk songwriting tradition into the territories of pop, bossa nova, and even the high drama of cinematic scoring. Her music is a surprising, yet rational marriage between all these cultures--she sings in Portuguese, Spanish and her native English tongue. As a trilingual songwriter, Maya has trained herself in the art of honesty. She recognizes that certain emotions travel through lyrics that could only work sincerely in Spanish, Portuguese, or English because they fit into the languages’ cultural continuum and poetic tradition. Remarkably, Maya is able to successfully guide her different cultural influences and musical perspectives into a refined and studied genre of her own making.

For the past six years Maya has called New York City her home, earning her degree in music composition from SUNY Purchase, founding her own record label Womb Room Music, on which she has released two albums and an EP. Her 2005 EP "Dissolving" garnered much acclaim, including wins and nominations in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, The Great American Song Contest, The Billboard Song Contest, The Independent Music Awards, and Singer Universe Magazine. She is currently enjoying the completion of her debut album Maya Solovey, I:II. With 11 original new songs, the album truly showcases her ability to translate the complexity of her compositions into clear, polished, and accessible songs. The track "Eu Vi" from this album is featured on the Ralph Lauren website for the winter 2010 runway show, while her song "Como Yo Lloro Por Ti" will be featured on a FIFA World Cup compilation, due out July 2nd. 3 other songs will be featured in an upcoming shark documentary called "Shark Allies", while a song she sang on will be featured in an upcoming campaign for Target.

Maya currently works alongside her co-producer "Bassy" Bob Brockman, a grammy award winning producer and mixer, whose production and mixes have been nominated for over 20 grammys, including albums by Bob Dylan, Herbie Hancock, and Christina Aguilera, including 2 wins. From the beginning and throughout her two-year stint in the studio creating her 'double-EP' self titled album, Ms. Solovey continuously plays all throughout New York City, the Northeast, at venues such as like Mercury Lounge, Union Hall, and the Colony Theater in Woodstock NY. She has also graced the stages of US festivals and consistently tours throughout Europe, playing in music halls, clubs, cafes, and even private concerts for the Czech royal family. Recently she toured with renowned artist, producer, and DJ Talvin Singh in his European tour, and has just finished producing a debut record for the fresh new artist Page Foster. http://www.mayasolovey.com

FanTrail - Breakthrough Platform Directly Connects Musical Artists And Fans

FanTrail, a groundbreaking, FREE mobile platform for iPhone and Android launches today. The innovative platform connects musical artists and fans in ways that have never been possible before, and pays the artists when their fans use each app. FanTrail is the first platform to offer the artist’s actual voice, a reward system for fans, and a direct relationship with the artist. Artists like Erykah Badu and The Roots are among the pioneers of FanTrail; theirs and other FanTrail artist apps are available on iTunes today, and on Android soon after.

Joel Rasmussen, Co-founder and CEO of FanTrail notes, "Artists and fans naturally want to connect, and this platform allows them to do so in a way that is more immediate, direct, and personal than ever before." Joshua McClure, Co-founder and CTO, notes "What’s exciting about the platform is that it allows an artist to use their voice, their most powerful instrument, as their primary tool for reaching their fans."

FanTrail’s patent pending technology, including LoveMail and the LoveMeter, give artists a powerful new set of tools for reaching, engaging, and entertaining their fans. Employing elements of popular games, the platform keeps fans coming back again and again. Artists can post news and events, update all of their social media at once, send voice messages directly to fans, and even reward their most devoted fans with shout-outs, meet and greets, private messages, or anything the artist can dream up.

"What is perhaps most surprising," continues McClure, "is that we pay all of the artists on the platform. We share all of our streams of revenue with the artists, based on how many fans they have and how active those fans are." Rasmussen notes, "This has never been done before, and we've found an exciting way to align everyone's interests."

SxSW COMPETITION

FanTrail is also launching a major competition -the "Sweetwater INDIE CUP" - for all 2200 showcasing artists at the 25th annual SXSW Music Festival in Austin, March 15-20. Each band can build FanTrail apps in their name; the act that creates the biggest "fantrail" by recruiting fans for their app will win $40,000 worth of recording equipment, as well as a free recording at world famous Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Bands can sign up at www.FanTrail.com.

FanTrail was created by entrepreneurs Joel Rasmussen and Josh McClure. Joel Rasmussen is a writer, publisher, filmmaker and digital audio expert. His critically hailed film "Before the Music Dies", starring Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Elvis Costello, Questlove, Erykah Badu, and others was called "the most important film a music fan will ever see", by Lee Abrahms, CEO of XM Radio. Josh McClure is a technology entrepreneur with a widespread background ranging from military intelligence to the video game industry. Over the years, he has founded several technology firms including Agile Poet, the firm that developed the initial FanTrail prototype.

Artists – independent or signed- can register for their own FanTrail app at www.fantrail.com.

Fans can find their FanTrail apps at the iTunes and Android store online.

Ex-Kumbia Kingz / All Starz Frontmen, Ricky Rick & DJ Kane Form New Group 'LA FORMULA'

Grammy award winning artists Ricky Rick & DJ Kane, formerly members of The Kumbia Kingz and Kumbia All Starz, have united their artistic talents to form a new and much needed Kumbia Fusion group called 'La Formula'. This dynamic duo is currently in the midst of producing and recording their debut alum also called 'La Formula' and which is being released on indie label, The Art Of Sound Group. The first single released off their debut album is "Contigo Me Voy", a danceable fun track with ballad like lyrics, which was released on 1/1/11. The song is destined to become a sensational hit as its popularity with DJ's across the country is rapidly rising causing its fast climb on radio charts and digital sales worldwide including, Asia, a usually uncharted territory. The song, written and Produced by Grammy & ASCAP Award winning production team Robert "Bobbo" Gomez III & Emilio "YEYO" Cancio-Bello, blends upbeat Kumbia beats with influences of pop, hip hop and dancehall style raggae. The video for the single was recently shot in Las Vegas, Nevada by Director Zues Ali who also directed the famous Lil Wayne Mini Movie, . The video illustrates a warm tropical feel of summer, dancing and all around good time, which is in tune with the danceable rhythms set to the love story based lyrics.
This newly formed team are the creative minds behind hits like "Mami", "Rica y Apretadita", Por ti baby", "Shhhhh", "No tengo dinero" and many other international hits and came together after the recent rupture of the Kumbia All Starz (formerly known as Kumbia Kingz). It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and in the eyes of these talented artists and their innovative producers it was necessary to bring back the genre with new faces, new beats and a whole re-invention to electrify their public. When asked why they chose the name 'La Formula' as the name of their new band, they responded "Because putting us together was like a secret formula for great music and a new twist on the Kumbia-Pop genre". Most recently the group was selected to perform at the prestigious SXSW Festival at the Barbella Patio Stage on Saturday, March 19th and will be performing at the Latin Billboard Conference. Together, they have sold over 20 million copies and have toured through the US, Central and South America as well as performed in major events including Premios Lo Nuestro, Latin Billboards and many more.
Art Of Sound is an indie music bi-lingual label based in Miami and headed by Grammy nominated and ASCAP award winning producer and writer, Emilio "Yeyo" Cancio-Bello. Art of Sound is based on the concept that music is the universal force that bounds cultures together and that language and geography is never a boundary for creativity.

On His New Single James Cracker Knows... "Uncle Sam" Needs You

James Cracker calls his music "This age's new style of artistry - current, clever, commercial, yet conscious." So is this, his debut single entitled UNCLE SAM, really the "weed song" that will end the prohibition of cannabis? James Cracker thinks so.

Cracker says, "Flat out, my new single, 'Uncle Sam' (to be released March 1) is THE new weed anthem and 2011's Call For Freedom." The cocky, self-titled, young white entrepreneur, James Cracker created the track as a platform for constructive debate about reform. James Cracker is a relentlessly positive individual who sees the perfect flow of existence as an ever lasting succession of events that unfold to become the physical -- Life. Gratitude. 1Love. But Cracker adds, "In this release, I'm here to tell the powers-that-be this is the will of the people and I am calling out those who make the laws to listen and respond accordingly."

Through each "Cracker Creation" -- from every stitch of his signature ExitEightClothing Collection line --

http://cgi.ebay.com/Exit-Eight-Clothing-Collection-/320662138406

to every chorus he writes, James endeavors to further a message of love and respect, equality and peace, by engaging the audience with thought provoking projects through entertaining artistic mediums. Cracker concludes, "I try to make each song I write speak to the masses. Uncle Sam, carries a clear message that I hope connects."

A word from the ARTIST: "I feel I'm here for this reason. I am James Cracker. I live this persona. One love. I feel a strong personal connection to this karmic trip. I have stories people enjoy interpreting. Whether it's through my poems, t-shirts, music, speech or conduct. I feel the purpose of my incarnation is to contribute positive vibes to the culture and fabric of humankind on a local and global level. In 2011, I hope to establish the charity organization, Crackers4Kids in an effort to bring nutritional awareness, tools, and nourishment to less privileged communities."

Audio: Evan Russell Saffer - Chemical Marketplace

Evan Russell Saffer’s new debut solo album Neon Gas will be a huge success if the remainder of it is anywhere near as great as the single Chemical Marketplace, which starts off with a frenzied but very much in control electric guitar with hard rock drums, which are then joined by a second electronic guitar and an anthemic wail of rock that leads into the first verse. The track is dubbed a floor-it-with-your-head-out-the-window drug anthem, and you will bob your head, move your body, and let your senses go wild with this sensationally well put together masterpiece. It’s non-stop hard rock and its best from beginning to end, and the two years that it took Saffer to complete this project were definitely well spent.

More information about the bands below.

Aileen Alonzo
Being holed up in her cave in the island gave her time to think about centipedes, goddesses, the joys of broken glass and various other stuff. Now, she wants to share these stories with everyone and she would really love it if they move you in some way. She would also love to own a coffee-loving panda. Or not.

Logo
Logo are James Woolf, Yanyan Pang and Chris Dundon, they have released their debut album “Illegal Brain” earlier this year, which showcases the band’s “future-retro” sound entwined lyrically with tales of the city’s demi-monde.

LogoJames Woolf, Chris Dundon Yanyan Pang, Illegal Brain

Thinking Out Loud
“Probably Hong Kong ’s best band”, Thinking Out Loud is a creative alt.pop-rock cross-cultural flambĂ© with spicy kick and tingly aftertaste.

Formed in 2001, the revolving door has finally slowed and the renewed lineup is feeling fresh and sounding solid. Fronted by rock goddess Chris B and guitar maestro Angus, new bassist Will pushes the boundaries of TOL’s music and new drummer Jon manhandles the drums whilst encouraging Chris B’s lyrical exploration.

The punchy sax and lyrical expectorations of Mysterious Mr B are the icing atop this tasty musical cake. Be there for their first performance in 2011.

Jelixa - The New "Beta Music Artist" Sensation Has Arrived

Jelixa is the fresh new female artist out of North Richland Hills, Texas, introducing a new genre of music called "Beta Music". While trying to figure out what genre of music should be used for her soon to be released debut album, Jelixa's music producer Michael Bell / CEO of Bell Time Records decided to test the market for a new kind of genre called "Beta Music". If you're reading this article you're probably wondering what Beta Music is.

The word "Beta" has several different meanings people could use in a given application. But in the application we're expressing in this article, the word beta will denote "The first version released from a community that developed the the product for the purpose of evaluation or real world testing". Therefore, the phrase "Beta Music" suggest that Jelixa is the first Pop Artist to put a name and face on the diversity and variation of new "unboxed In" music created. Some will no doubt ask, is she really a pop artist, or a house/techno artist? Perhaps she may be a rock artist with a taste of country pop...hmmm? Well, it is possible she could be a funk artist as well....get my drift? Jelixa is an artist of many emotions and stories to tell. There isn't anytime to be put into a box, or a certain genre mode, therefore, "beta music" fits exactly what Jelixa is all about.

You can listen to some of Jelixa's music at: www.jelixapopartist.com. Or you can also stop by her myspace page at: www.myspace.com/jelixapopartist

Better yet, buy the Cd in March when it's released. You surely won't be disappointed!
