Naama Kates Releases Video For New Single "King For The Day"

Singer-songwriter/pianist Naama Kates recently released the music video for her newest track, "King for the Day", taken off of her sophomore full-length album on her official Youtube page. Directed by Luis Aguirre, the video is extravagant, provocative, and layered with dark wit. It serves as the perfect accompaniment to the wonderfully realized single.

Corresponding to the single's message about being "King for the Day", the video features a ravishing Kates dressed in a lavish evening dress singing. A suited man appears from time to time and pampers Kates with gifts and gestures, making her a true "king". As the video draws to an end, however, we are forced to recognize the superficiality of these objects. The exaggerated backdrop is taken down to reveal a rundown alley, while the man takes back his gifts, leaving Kates looking helpless.

The single itself is a classy blend of blues, jazz, and pop. With the help of Mike Richardson on the trombone, John Carfi on bass, and Rich West on drums, Kates records a gorgeous piano arrangement. Her exuberant vocals give the poetic lyrics a high level of sincerity and power. Grammy-nominated producer Scott Fraser (Kronos Quartet) recorded, engineered and mastered. Like all the other songs on her sophomore album, "King for the Day" was recorded in a single take.

Naama Kates began composing and singing at an early age. Upon her arrival in Los Angeles in 2009 she began working on her debut record "The Unexamined Life" which was released in 2012 to critical and commercial success. Her sophomore album, "King for the Day" will be released on March 12, 2013.

April in Paris is an irresistible time of love and wonderment, but in 2013 a special celebration will heighten the city's magic... Marking the release of C'est Si Bon, Sylvia Bennett's new album, the American diva will enchant audiences with a concert at the Renaissance Le Parc Trocadero Hotel on April 15th, beginning at 9:00 p.m. A cash bar will be available. The concert, which is part of the hotel's RLife Live Event series, will include songs from her new all-French-language CD as well as selections from Sentimental Journey, the Grammy-nominated album she recorded with her mentor, the late Lionel Hampton. Jazz Trombonist/Arranger Earl McIntyre Releases New CD, Brass Carnival & Tribute! Via Live Premiere Concert

Award winning Jazz Trombonist/ Arranger Earl McIntyre is known for his rich tones, incredible brass arrangements and diverse repertoire making him a “go to” for performances and arrangements ranging from classical to jazz. His new release, Brass Carnival & Tribute!, showcases many of those attributes and more in this groove eclectic set.

Born in Brooklyn N.Y. Earl received his very first musical training from his father, Eldon McIntyre, Sr. (a very gifted amateur musician). His father was passionate about music and saw to it that Earl and his brothers became proficient at playing brass instruments thus starting Earl’s journey into music. While attending the High School of Music & Art, he studied trombone with trombone greats such as John Clark, Jack Jeffers, Alan Raph and Benny Powell. It was during this period that he also developed relationships with composer William S. Fischer and tubaist Howard Johnson. He then when on to study Bass Trombone at Mannes College of Music with Simone Karasick and tuba with Thompson Hanks. As Earl’s thirst for knowledge of music grew, he started studying music arrangement with Slide Hampton and Bob Brookmeyer, as well as, studied privately with the famous brass teacher Carmine Caruso.

Soon after his studies, McIntyre’s musical journey flourished as he began playing with the likes of Gil Evans, the Apollo stage band, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Lester Bowie, The Band, Stevie Wonder, McCoy Tyner, Carla Bley, George Russell, Lou Rawls, Jeffrey Osborne, Deniece Williams, the Count Basie Orchestra, the Ellington Orchestra, the Thad Jones -Mel Lewis Orchestra (with whom he was associated for over 20 years) Slide Hampton, George Gruntz, the Mingus Big Band, Cecil Taylor, David Amram and the list goes on.

While credited for Trombone, Tuba and Arranger on countless award winning albums, Brass Carnival & Tribute!, will be Earl McIntyre’s very first offering of his own. When asked about his influences he responded “They say as an artist you spend your career trying to get back to your roots and I guess that's true in my case. The Tribute! band allows me to honor great musicians and family members in my own way. By dedicating and/or naming compositions after these people I hope to ignite the occasional spark of interest in them. Perhaps it's the influence of another hero/employer as well. Charles Mingus did this often and so did Thelonious Monk. The other ensemble, Brass Carnival does the same sort of thing with musical genres but as a larger ensemble.” says McIntyre.

Brass Carnival has instrumentation similar to a Salvation Army brass band coupled with Latin percussion. The influence of various kinds of vibrant carnival music colorfully painted on a Jazz canvas. Tribute! is a smaller group that pays tribute to Earl’s many influences such as Soca, R&B, Funk and various other grooves.

Brass Carnival & Tribute! will be available via MySpace, CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and more. Join Earl McIntyre on Saturday, March 9th, for his Brass Carnival & Tribute! Matthew Schultz And Jim Jones Hits All The Right Notes With "Money Or Me"

Singer/songwriter Matthew Schultz collaborates with hip hop legend Jim Jones to create the highly anticipated single, "Money or Me". The single draws from the talents of both artists and feature a one of a kind blend of two seemingly unreconcilable genres, rock and hip-hop. Despite all odds, the unconventional team of Schultz and Jones succeeded in creating a hit.

"Money Or Me" showcases the best of Schultz who carried the song with his outstanding guitar solo and rich vocals. With a steady rhythm and a gorgeous piano, the song carries clear rock influences. However, the use of distortion, echoes, and other electronic techniques add a very different flavor to the mix. Jim Jones also brought his A-game to his rap vocals. Gritty and powerful, Jones instills a classic hip-hop element into the single.

Matthew Schultz is a veteran in the music industry. Having previously worked with singer Chris Daughtry, he has maintained a presence in the scene with his impressive vocals and song-writing skills. He was ranked as the number 2 singer/songwriter in the US on Reverbnation.

Jim Jones, originally born Joseph Guillermo Jones II, is an original member of the hip hop collective The Diplomatsalso. He is also featured on VH1 Love & Hip Hop and Chrissy & Miss Jones.

Ann Kelly 'Petals And Thorns' EP Has 4th Femme-Fatale-Style Video Release; Songs On TV, Web & Radio

(March 5, 2013) - Los Angeles-based vocalist-songwriter Ann Kelly and her indie label October Daze Records announce that the fourth full length video from her debut recording 'Petals and Thorns' is now available on YouTube for the song 'She Dances Alone'. The video has a distinct bluesy noir atmosphere with Kelly's sultry vocal style and can be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODZhXGA-Z34&feature=em-share_video_user

'She Dances Alone' has recently been a consistent Top 20 presence on the Slacker.com Modern Blues Channel. "Her performances strike the right notes of assertiveness, playfulness, and hurt, a femme fatale undermined by a vulnerable heart", wrote critic Russ Buchanan for examiner.com. The recording was produced by two-time Emmy award winning composer and keyboardist Mark Ross, featuring Los Angeles session notables Tim Pierce on guitar and Emmy winner Danny Pelfrey on sax.

Videos for the first two singles from the album, 'Who Do You Think You're Foolin' and 'Undone Without You,' were previously posted on YouTube receiving thousands of views, and both songs received significant broadcast airplay on trend-setting stations including KPIG FM. The third video was for the elegant noir song 'Between The Lines', which also received thousands of YouTube views. The three previous Ann Kelly videos were also seen on national television during a broadcast of Extra. All four videos were directed by Jae Feinberg in Los Angeles.

There are two remaining tracks from the EP without video, 'Won't Let Me Love Again' and 'It Must be Good To Be King', the latter of which also received substantial airplay on Triple A Radio nationwide.

Ann Kelly and October Daze Records have retained the services of David Bean at BeanBag1 Entertainment, and subsidiary Artist Airplay Advisors led by VP of Promotion J. P. Mosoff, for public relations and radio promotion. Located in Monterey, CA, the BeanBag1 indie services and Artist Airplay Advisors Radio Promotion have been successful over the past five years in placing unsigned indie bands on broadcast, internet, and satellite radio, as well as into national distribution and press. In addition to Ann Kelly, current BeanBag1/AAA clients include Denny Brown, The Escape Club, The Co-op, Suite 709, and Professor Burns & The Lilac Field.
