Brandon Bonine Releasing New Single "Only With You" In Anticipation Of Debut Album Launch

Singer-songwriter Brandon Bonine announced the release of his upcoming new single "Only with You" for Tuesday, March 20th. This is the troubadour’s third single in anticipation of his much talked about upcoming debut album WARRANTED WORRIES coming this Spring.

“I’m super excited about my release of ‘Only with You’,” says newcomer Brandon Bonine. “I wanted to create the perfect summer song for 2018, something everyone could groove to, and we have it. This is the perfect track to tease my debut album and what is to come!”

Brandon’s soulful and raw acoustic sound often draws comparisons with John Mayer. He has studied under Pat Metheny, and proudly finds musical inspiration from Townes Van Zandt, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn – as well as Metheny. His jazz/blues/rock infused Americana style has similarities with the Avett Brothers.

The music video for Brandon’s first single Remember My Name (directed by Diego Cruz of Detroit) from the upcoming debut album was recently nominated for Country Music Video of the Year at the Midwestern Music Video Awards and best Male Indie Music Video by LA Music Critic. Brandon worked with well-known Director Diego Cruz again on the new music video for Only with You creating a beautiful visual story for the sexy song.

Brandon is establishing himself as one of Detroit’s top indie jazz guitarists performing house concerts & gigs as well as building a following as a songwriter - even collaborating with YOUNG RJ of Slum Village (J Dilla, 50 Cent).

The new single “Only with You” was recorded at Big Sky Recording Studio, and was written and produced by Brandon Bonine. The new single will be available March 20th from Midwestern Heartbreak Records via iTunes, Spotify, and Amazon.

Upcoming Tour Dates – Brandon Bonine
May 5 – Ann Arbor, MI – The Ark – Album Release Party

About Brandon Bonine
Born and raised in the shadow of the Motor City, Brandon Bonine found music early on in life. Probably first hearing Teddy Pendergrass and Aaron Copland in his diaper, it was hard for him not to feel the infectious groove. First picking up the guitar at the age of 11, he spent hours learning from the jazz cats of his dad’s record collection, idolizing the poster of Slash on his wall. He was rejected from music school, but that didn’t stop him. Throughout college he divided his time between jazz gigs and DJing parties, often trading meals to build up his record and coffee collection. He finds inspiration from Pat Metheny, whom he’s studied under, Townes Van Zandt, John Mayer, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. After college he hooked up with YOUNG RJ of Slum Village(J Dilla, 50 Cent) and began crafting his next body of work. Halfway inspired by his life events and trying to capture that feeling of driving on a dirt road after having one too many espressos. To capture the vibe he was headed for, he teamed up with RJ RICE (producer; Poe, Pet Shop Boys) and formed a band with DANA DAVIS (Aretha Franklin, Byron Cage) and CHRISTON MASON (TLC, Phillip Phillips). Go hit those like buttons and hop on the groovy train, with a little bit of good Midwestern heartbreak. Stay up to date with Brandon at

Plunky Releases - "Only You" Smooth Groove/Afro-Mellow EP

The storied history of Afro-jazz funk legends Plunky & Oneness continues with a new album, "Eclecticism," to be released June 13 of this year. As a prelude to the new album, Plunky is releasing "Only You," a four-song maxi-single of Afro-mellow smooth grooves on March 13. While his maxi-single focuses on mellow vibes, the four tracks still showcase the variety and versatility Plunky and his group have shown for more than 40 years and 25 albums. Newness and innovation are on full display on this EP as Plunky and his son, J. Fire Branch, have produced a collection of personal songs with multiple layers of beats, sounds and meanings.

Listen to samples of the "Only You" 4-song Maxi Single, click here:

Here's how Plunky himself describes the songs on the EP/Maxi-single:

"The title tune, "Only You," is a smooth groove song about your one and only love. The tenor sax lead implies that it is a man speaking to his lover, but female background vocals make it clear that it is just as likely that a woman might sing it to hers. Every listener can hope that if they asked their lover "who makes you happy," the answer would be, "Only You." This song is my nod to Najee, Gerald Albright, Boney James, Kim Waters and all the smooth jazz saxophonists who make it mellow and funky at the same time.

"Love Makes Us Better" is about universal love. The modal piano vamp on the track hearkens back to the openness of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme" and Pharaoh Sanders' "Karma;" but this new song combines sequencing with live instruments, vocals and soprano sax. The song was produced using modern hip-hop/R&B sampling techniques, instrumental improvisation and lyrics to create a nu-cosmic jazz.

"The instrumental track, "Word of Mouth," could have been titled "Oral History" or "Speaking in Tongues." This is truly a new music construct, using voices as percussion instruments and overdubbed saxophones as a rhythm section. This is special, acoustic Nu-Afro-beat music; mellow and danceable.

"The introspective song, "Dream Safari," uses a new age soundscape and a smooth Afro-jazz groove to create a vehicle for a tenor sax excursion into dream land. The song is cinematic, expansive and intimate. A safari is an expedition and this is a soundtrack for a quest for wisdom, peace and love…

"These are songs for this season, and with these songs I am intimating a subtle African and cosmopolitan aesthetic, an understated and diverse Afropolitan jazz-funk music."

"Only You" 4-Song sampler video:

Musicians: J. Plunky Branch – sax, vocals; J. Fire Branch – electronic percussion, tracks; Charlayne "Chyp" Green – vocals; P. Muzi Branch – bass; J. L. Harris – keyboards; Carl Lester El – guitars; Chris Beasley – guitar; Kala Page – background vocals; Abdou Muhammed – Djembe drum; Al Dokes – tracks production

The "Only You" four-song EP is available from and on all usual download sites.
Plunky & Oneness is available for touring dates, festivals, concerts, seminars and club dates.

2018 Summer Additions Come To Hybrid Studios

Orange County recording studios and soundstage, Hybrid Studios, has brought in a few new additions ahead of Summer 2018. A brand new Atomic Instrument SSL power supply has been brought into to power Studio A's SSL 4064G+ console. According to their website, "Atomic Instrument was created to fill the growing demand for reliable, efficient, power supplies for large format recording consoles. It's a power supply that uses about half the energy, lowers the noise floor (up to 13dBu), vastly improves reliability, and noticeably improves sound quality." This state-of-the-art power supply is quickly becoming an industry staple, currently being used by Bob Clearmountain, Tom Lord-Alge, and Avatar Studios.

"Installing the new power supply was easy, except for pulling out the old, heavy supplies," said Hybrid Studios Co-founder Billy Klein, "Calibrating the Atomic was incredibly easy, whereas the old supplies were really difficult and dangerous, since it required sticking a trim tool into a 240v PCB. Immediately we were able to tell a difference in the noise floor, with the Atomic sounding much cleaner. With the old supplies, we had constant temperature issues in our power supply rack, but since switching over to Atomic, the temperature has stayed constant in the mid 70's. It's been a huge improvement over the old units that required much more air conditioning. All in all, we're very happy with the switch and would highly recommend these supplies to anyone."

Hybrid Studios is also auditioning a brand new stereo pair of Adam Audio's S5Hs in Studio A. Featuring a more detailed top end compared to the S3As that are normally in the room, the impressive three-way speaker set will be available for use through the end of June 2018. The S5Hs feature two 10-inch Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) bass drivers and a ribbon tweeter. Mid-range frequencies are handled by ADAM Audio's new hybrid DCH, an innovative 4-inch MF driver, and the stable, wide-ranging dispersion offed by the speakers allows for multiple people to work in the loudspeakers' sweet spot simultaneously, as is necessary in control room as large as ours.

About Hybrid Studios

Hybrid Studios is a fully integrated multimedia production facility in Orange County, CA. Not only does Hybrid feature a state-of-the-art analog & digital recording studio; it also boasts a massive sound stage, including a pre-lit cyclorama. Plunky's "Love Makes Us Better" Video Is Cosmic Jazz-Funk

In his "Love Makes Us Better" video Plunky imagines John Coltrane or Pharaoh Sanders getting funky and spiritual and political in today's Youtube musical landscape.

Watch the video:

"Love makes us better" is a declarative statement of belief in the power of universal love. The new song written by acclaimed saxophonist J. Plunky Branch, expresses his personal belief in love as a positive force in human nature.

It turns out the man with the horn is also a man with a vision, as Plunky directed and produced this short-form video masterwork that explores the intersection of musical romanticism and political and social idealism. The message in the video is simple: love makes us better people and a better nation.

The mood and tonality of the song's instrumental track is definitely rooted in the cosmic jazz of the 1960s and 70s. During that era, Plunky worked with Ornette Coleman, Sam Rivers, Pharaoh Sanders, Rashid Ali, Lonnie Liston Smith, Ndikho Xaba and others while leading his group, Juju. Plunky produced two albums on the innovative jazz label Strata-East Records and two albums on Black Fire Records before establishing his own N.A.M.E. Brand Records label. Over the years Plunky & Oneness (of Juju) developed an Afro-jazz funk sound by combining soulful, polyrhythmic and improvisational styles.

On "Love Makes Us Better," Plunky evokes the sentiments of past cosmic jazz saxophone masters, as his soprano soars over the rhythm section guided by Dr. Weldon Hill's grand piano motif. Hip-hop producer J. Fire Branch's beats and funky drums propel the track into today's future tense. Plunky's raw lead vocals are smoothed by angelic background singers (Charlayne Green and Kala Page) as he delivers his simple but poignant lyrics:

Love is supernatural and satisfactual/Magnificent, excellent and heaven sent

Personal love. Universal love. It's all about love

Love makes things better/Better and better

Love makes us better/Better and better

Plunky is a persistently innovative and versatile artist whose 25 albums and 450 original songs span multiple genres including, African, jazz, funk, R&B, hip-hop and reggae. He has toured extensively with his group, Plunky & Oneness (of Juju), performing in concert and at festivals with some of the biggest names in Black music, including George Clinton, Earth Wind & Fire, Patti LaBelle, LL Cool J, Lonnie Liston Smith, and so many more. Plunky recently received a 50 For 50 Award as an outstanding artist of the last 50 years from the Virginia Commission for the Arts. His songs have been on national and international charts, licensed for television, sampled, re-recorded and re-issued on numerous international compilations.

"Love Makes Us Better" will be the title song of the upcoming full-length album due out later this summer, but the song is available now as one of the tracks on "Only You," Plunky's four-song maxi-single CD which this week entered the Top 50 Indie Chart. The "Only You" maxi single is available on itunes, amazon and all the usual online streaming services; and it can be ordered at

Album Review by The Grouch | In The Rockies

Hej America!

Today is a bit of a special day here in Grouchland. Why you ask? Well, today’s review is of an album of songs, most of which were composed solely by one of my favorite musicians, Gar Francis. For those who do not know, Gar is a wizard of musical creativity. Over the years I have heard many songs from Gar’s colossal body of work and I can honestly say I have not heard anything by Gar that I disliked. This is an album of songs composed either solely by Gar or in collaboration with other talented musicians. This album. at least in my opinion, further solidifies Gar’s position among other behind-the-scene greats such as Bob Ezrin and Mutt Lang.

Track 1 - Baby Let's Go - Tom Vicario 2:42 - This is classic Country Gar and Tom delivers a great rendition. I am a sucker for that twangy guitar. Tom’s voice fits well with this style of music. When the solo kicks in the listener is reminded that Rock and Roll is basically a fusion of African inspired soul and Country. This track reminds me of old Roy Orbison or anyone one of the first-generation rockers. All in all, this is a good song that is played flawlessly by Tom Vicario.

Track 2 - Come On Come On - The Easy Outs 3:10 - The raunchy 60s sound is alive and well in this track performed by the Easy Outs. The music grinds and the old-school licks blister as the organ adds some groove around the edges. This is a dancer’s track for sure. The vocals are spot on as the old time Rock and Roll vibe fills the air. What’s not to love, with wicked guitar licks, a funky bass, a rock-solid drummer and lyrics that state “You make a monkey crazy! Come on come on!” I really like this band!

Track 3 - I Won't Cry Anymore - Genya Ravan (of Ten Wheel Drive) - 4:35 - This is a massive blues jam that I can’t get enough of. Listen to this song and tell me you can’t feel the soul. Genya has a great voice and the backup singers just add to the magic. There is a massive amount of Motown goodness in this track. I want to give a special nod to Genya’s drummer, Bobby Chen. Amazingly, he stands out despite being behind a truly wicked guitar player and some of the most soulful vocals I have ever heard. This is without a doubt a great song.

Track 4 - Satisfied - Tyce Green 4:17 - This track is from the 80s influenced Pop-Metal Gar. The track is performed by Tyce Green and reminds me of the stuff that was popular back in the day. I am thinking of April Wine or even Billy Squire. There is enough rock here for guys to dig it and enough sensitivity in the vocals for their girlfriends to get them to come to the show. In short, this is a good song reminiscent of 1982 which, at least for me, was a very good year. This song is well executed, radio-friendly hard-pop.

Track 5 - Born Dainty - Kelly Caruso (of American Idol) - 3:44 - First things first, I dig the music. It's got an old Charlie Daniels - Skynyrd feel. As an old drummer, I have to say I really like what Keith Reil is doing. I also dig the leads Gar pulls out at the tail end of the song, and some people say Country doesn't jam! When done right, it jams indeed. Kelly has a strong voice that gets better on the chorus. She can sing and seems to have the kind of gutsy attitude that I dig.

Think of a kind of Country Gore Gore Girls and you are on the right track. This is a good song from a young woman with a strong voice and some really good players.

Track 6 - Meet Me - Ricky Persaud Jr 4:12 - It really doesn’t get much better than this. Gar is a fantastic songwriter and there are not many people who can jam as much as Ricky Persaud Jr. I have been a big fan of Ricky’s since I first heard him quite a while back. Simply put the man can do wonders on any instrument he chooses to use, including his voice. The Reggae vibe is strong, and I am brought back to a conversation I had a long time ago with a cat I knew who was playing drums in a Reggae band. He said to me “Once you go Reggae there is no going back.” Listen to this song. When I do I have to admit I have percussion envy.

Track 7 - Sweet Sunshine - The Satisfactors 3:38 - I first heard about the Satisfactors a few years ago. I dig what they do! This is a band made up of a bunch of guys who are bursting with in-your-face soul. The singer sings well. The rhythm section is rock solid, and the guitars are on fire. I dare anyone to listen to this track and not be in a better mood by the end of the song. A long time ago, when the Walkman first came out, I had a friend who would say "Here, have a little Alice. You'll feel better." Then he would give you the headphones and Billion Dollar Babies would blast through your brain. Well, here, have a little Satisfactors. You'll feel better.

Track 8 - Rush On You - Mark Lindsay (former lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders) - 2:40 - One word: JAM! This reminds me of something our band instructor back in Jr. High school would say. If we had managed to make some particularly soulful noise Mr. Case would look at us, grin and say in his cigarette damaged voice: Sometimes you cats can wail. Well folks, this track wails!

Track 9 - A Spy For Love - Mia Moravis 2:32 - I had no idea they were making a new James Bond film. They must be because this track is absolutely meant to be the theme song for a James Bond flick. The camp factor is over the top as Mia sultrily sings that she is a Spy For Love. The thing is that despite the intentional campiness and the omnipresent musical kitsch, the music on this track is really well played. Mia has a very good voice and the band actually makes the song groove. (I do have to wonder how many times they had to do a retake because the band was cracking up?)

Track 10 - A Special Girl - Jim McCarty (of the Yardbirds) - 4:45 - The first thing the listener notices is the melodic groove that could easily fit in the background of a cocktail party or with a bunch of young neo-hippies hanging in the park. I actually mean that as a compliment. The music does have some Adult Contemporary overtones that would make a dentist smile, but if you really listen to the track you will hear a subtle, yet smoking guitar. That guitar behind the easy-on-the-ears voice really works together to create something special that just may take a couple of listens to fully appreciate. When all is said and done, I find myself speechless and thinking “now that is one cool way to rock and roll.”

Track 11 - Ballerina Of The Bowery - Jana Peri 4:10 - I dig this song. The Bo Diddley vibe is just too cool. Man, the drummer, Kurt Reil, is laying it down! When you combine those drums with the ultra-raunchy guitar (Gar Francis) the song is mind-bending. Add in the vocals and the track goes from mind-bending to absolutely mind-blowing. This song has anthem written all over it. I dare anyone to listen to this track and not start to groove along.

Track 12 - Break It Down - Anthony Krizan (of the Spin Doctors) - 4:29 - WICKED! Good God I love well-used feedback! The blues simply does not get any raunchier or grittier than this. The cool thing about this track is that while the music is head-splitting level loud and confrontation the vocals are, believe it or not, melodic. The background vocals only add to the contrast of the out of control, fire-breathing dragon on lead guitar. Out of all of the truly fine tracks on this album, this could very well be my favorite.

Track 13 - Fool For Your Love - Crab Bubbles Band 2:47 - The heavy groove continues. There is no doubt that the Crab Bubbles Band can make some noise. The melodic verse is almost a relief from the intensity of the chorus. (Who am I kidding? It can never be too intense!) This song is so good I find myself wishing I was in this band. Excellent work!

Track 14 - Make Up Your Mind - Inches From Sin 3:24 - This song is interesting. On the one hand, it sounds so cheery, but there is a menacing machine-like sound grinding just underneath the pleasant keyboards. I am really curious, given the name of the band, is this a simple love song or do the singers have some darker nefarious purpose in mind for the person they are en-couraged to make up their mind?

Track 15 - Shine Your Love - Kathryn Shipley 3:53 - Kathryn starts out with some really nice soulful keys. I really am feeling a Band groove here. Then the vocals come in. Man, she has a great voice! The background singers definitely add to the soulful vibe. Then it dawns on me this is the stuff all the great Motown singers grew up singing. This song could be from a church service, albeit not the kind I attended as a kid. This song would fit into a church service where the people rock out. You have to listen to the piano (Eric Barfield) runs in this track. The pi-ano, with the organ in the background, the wicked guitar on the edge, the backup singers all provide an outstanding platform for Kathryn to absolutely wail! I dig it.

Track 16 - The Hand Of Fate We Hold - The Corridors 3:30 - The Corridors are a band I quite like. The prowess of their keyboard player is not to be denied. Just when the listener feels immersed in a sea of keyboard produced sound the guitar opens up with a tsunami of laser-guided precession sonic blasts that leaves the listener, well at least this listener, speechless. Over the top of this massively intense yet oddly melodic jam is a voice that is simply awe-inspiring. The man (Adi Mosko) can sing! This is a fantastic track that deserves to be listened to, frequently.

I should mention, as the name of the album is The Gar Francis Songbook Volume One by Various Artists that all of the songs with the exceptions listed below, were written by Gar

Sweet Sunshine by Gar Francis, Bruce Ferguson & Kurt Reil

A Special Girl by Gar Francis & Jim McCarty

Bread It Down by Gar Francis & Anthony Krizan

Make Up Your Mind by Gar Francis, Robert Brewer & Karen Holloway Brewer

The Hand of Fate We Hold by Gar Francis & Richard X Heyman

The bottom line is this is a fantastic album that I am sure will be enjoyable to listen to for years to come. - The Grouch | in the Rockies

Masta Mix Records Announces The New Album A Decade In The Mix 2002-2012 From Traum

The new Album is the 2nd release from the Far Rockaway, NY rapper, and features his past material from 2002-2012 featuring Cormega, Rapper Noyd, Killa Sha and KL of Screwball. It also includes production by Traum, Ayatollah and many more.

Traum exudes an authentic essence of spitting a verse about living life in the grimy streets of Far Rockaway Queens, how one survives the struggle, and making one's dreams a reality. Bringing back the familiar flavor of fluidly spoken hip hop is what Traum does best, as he now pushes through the walls of the underground to shine in the mainstream while keeping it real and distinctive.

"A Decade In The Mix 2002-2012" will be available December 26, 2017 on iTunes and stores everywhere.

Traum founded Masta Mix Records and Masta Labs Studio "I know the game; I have the energy and execution and discipline. With my own label, I can focus on putting out good music and show my love for hip hop without waiting for a major label to notice my determination and skills." And, with that stated, Masta Mix Records has flourished into a life of its own. Masta Mix Records has become one of a few only commercially successful Indie Record Labels in the world.

This album is just to display some of my classic joints from the past accordinig to Traum.

Traum the authentic essence of spitting a verse about living life in the grimy streets and how one survives the struggle and how your dreams are now tangible are fluidly spoken by undergrounds hip hop sensation Traum. Bringing back the familiar flavor of hip hop, Traum narrates about his life growing up in the streets of New York to living a flashy lifestyle and fast money. New York, Big City of Dreams, as it’s often called, correlates perfectly with tantalizing lyrics.

Songwriter Alfred G. Shaheen II Releases Songs For Servicemen And Women Overseas

It is hard for one to be able to imagine the separation from home and family one must feel serving our country in strange and hostile places like Afghanistan and Iraq. La Canada-Flintridge-based songwriter Alfred G. Shaheen II recently released two singles evoking the longing for home and joy of reuniting with those special in our lives.

"The Pieces of My Life" is a poignant pop ballad on how home can call us back after a long time away. With lyrics such as "In my mind I’ve gone back in time/ Where I’ve tried to find memory lane/ Lost inside is a past that’s died/ Only broken pieces remain," the song touches on the pain of separation especially felt by those serving our country. The dreamy country-pop song "A Country Lullaby" on the other hand reminds us of the joy of family, with music and lyrics that transport the listener to the transcendent beauty of drifting off to sleep to the sight of loved ones.

Said Alfred Shaheen, "While the verse and bridge of 'The Pieces of My Life' were written in 1988, the music of the chorus and the lyrics were written in 2010. Immediately after the balance of this song came to me, I remember how I was deeply struck by the thought of our servicemen and women overseas, and the effect the meaning of this song might have on them. Of course, the lyrics of 'A Country Lullaby' represent the very loved ones to whom they long to return."

In honor of our servicemen and women and their families, Alfred Shaheen will donate 25% of the profits from digital download sales and streams of "The Pieces of My Life" to various top-rated Veterans' organizations like Wounded Warriors Family Support, Southeastern Guide Dogs and Homes for Our Troops.

Uploaded to online radio service Jango in the final days of 2017, the song quickly started garnering fans, landing both songs on the platforms Top 100 PopScore. Both, the "The Pieces of My Life" and “A Country Lullaby” feature the soulful voice of Scottie Mitchell. The songs can be found on all major music services, including Spotify, iTunes and CDBaby.

Versatile Haitian American Singer/Songwriter Natalie Jean And Country Singer Levi Moore Release New Country Single

Natalie Jean and Levi Moore are excited to announce the much-anticipated release of their Country single, titled, 'The Letting Go.' The song is a co-write between Michael Peloso and Natalie Jean.

Produced by Alexi Von Guggenberg, is readily available for purchase nationwide at the iTunes Store,, Google Play, and various digital online stores.

"Music aside for a second, the songwriting is where things get personal - where things connect in a more intimate and communicable sort of way. Natalie Jean's smooth and gentle voice offers up the first verse - a certain delicacy that contrasts effectively with the thick drum line and the somewhat manic or anticipating guitar part. Her voice falls into the mix like another instrument, brightening things up, enhancing the ambiance. It's only really when you get to the satisfying resolve of the hook that the lyrics really start to take shape in your mind. The second and third times you listen you pick up on way more about the sentiment and the underlying ideas. It's an inspiring song, learning to move forwards is important - to get over and get on with things. The song hits with impact, it's powerful, and this concept is well represented."

"The set-up of one voice for the first verse and another for the second is not all that common in modern music. It works best when there's a noticeable contrast, a clear cut set of differences that lay out the two leading characters and their sides of the story or their input. Levi Moore's voice adds a gorgeous new dynamic to an already enjoyable and calming piece of music and writing. The two artists together offer so much passion and skill that their performances are mesmerising. The detail throughout this entire release is beautiful, it's a carefully crafted single that has been so well captured that you can listen on repeat and not get tired of the unfolding mightiness and magic. - Stereo Stickman"

"The song binds a beautiful tale of unforgettable love and the strength it bores into the mind and soul of a human body. This track flows over a logical explanation of feelings and relationship which is sure to inspire many young hearts. The audio quality of the song is quite high with keen attention given to making the song enjoyable for the audience."

"Brilliantly penned down by Michael Peloso and Natalie Jean, this track, 禅he Letting Go' is truly a masterpiece by Natalie Jean and Levi Moore. With so much talent and passion merging on a single platform, this track is already a memorandum in the world of amusing harmony. - Skope Magazine - Natalie Parker"

Natalie Jean is an award winning singer/songwriter performer and a dynamic artist who grew up loving music. She enjoyed singing with her Haitian father, Guy Robert Jean - who was also an artist. She writes for many genres, which would include Jazz, R&B, Dance, Pop, Country, Rap, Heavy Metal, Contemporary, etc. She can also sing in French and Spanish.

She was named one of the Top Five Vocalists in the Singer Universe Vocalist of the Month for June 2014. Most recently she was awarded the Gold Medal in the Global Music Awards for Female Pop Vocalist, for one of the songs currently on the album, titled "L'Amour a L'Infini, which is a co-write with Lyssabelle. Also, she won Best Dance Song, in the American Songwriting Awards for her song, "Red Room - The Remix". She also won Best World Artist (Multiple Languages) in the 2017 Josie Music Awards. As well as being a Finalist in the 2018 International Acoustic Music Awards in the Folk Category for her song "Smoking Ke Fan," which was written by Natalie and her father.

Inspired by Lena Horne, Celine Dion, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Ella Fitzgerald, her beautiful voice and melodies will surely leave you wanting for more!

Levi Moore, is a country singer/songwriter out of Savannah, GA. He writes what he feels and sings from the heart, taking notes Jennings, but also influenced early on by the great songwriters of lore, like Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce.

While having always craved the presence of music, he began creating music late, teaching himself to play guitar in the second half of my five-year college career, using music as a balance between football practice and midterm exams. Having been a storyteller and writer since elementary school, songwriting was a natural progression.

After 3 years, he left the oilfield to become a full-time musician, moving to Savannah, GA and plunging headlong into the coastal fray. After having been nominated for Male Vocalist of The Year in Modern Country at the 2017 Josie Music Awards, He is diligently working at my craft, gigging throughout the week, writing more than ever, and preparing to cut and release my first album this winter.

Other primary influences include Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Carole King, James Taylor, Natalie Merchant, Hall & Oates, Jude Cole, Ed Roland and Darius Rucker...Just to name a few of many. Michael collaborated with Natalie Jean. "Please Don't", a Josie Award nominated R&B track was released in 2016, and is a featured single on Natalie's Unafraid album. The duo released "Alive" on June 30, 2017. "Lost & Found is scheduled to be released this fall.

Ben Dunham Partners With Award-Winning Songwriter Dave Gutter On New Single, Talkin' Down

Producer and musician Ben Dunham announced today the release of his single, "Talkin' Down," on Friday, February 16, 2018. The exclusive release party will be hosted at Sweet Melissa's, 4 Langdon Street, Montpelier, Vermont, at 9:30 p.m. The release party will feature original live music and is open to the public. More information on the venue can be found here:

Recorded at The Halo Studio in Portland, Maine, "Talkin' Down" was written by Dunham with vocal collaboration from Dave Gutter, the frontman of Rustic Overtones, a psychedelic rock band out of Portland, Maine. Dunham's partnership with Gutter began after he received a stylistic comparison to the artist during the promotion of his latest album, The Backline Collective, which was released in July of 2017.

The punchy, polished track comes in just under four minutes and captures raw, dark emotions. According to Dunham, "The single was inspired by how our thoughts and words carry more weight than we may realize and how people's personal struggles often make it easier to bring others down."

Beyond partnering with 13 artists on his first album, Dunham has worked and toured with an impressive roster of musicians, such as the hip-hop funk band Dysfunkshun, Madou Dembele, and now Dave Gutter. He hopes to keep the collaborations coming in his second album, a continuation of the Backline Collective, which will be released later in 2018.

On his partnership with Gutter, Ben said, "I have been a big fan of Dave for a long time now, so I was excited to get to partner with him on my newest single. Dave has worked with many big names like Bowie, Aaron Neville, Gramatik, and Eric Krasno. For him to take the time to work with me was incredible, and I think our hard work comes through in the single."

Dunham's single will be available on Reverb Nation

About: Ben Dunham started his music career as a teenager, playing in bars and local hotspots. Anchored by a love for the bass, Ben enjoys composing music and lyrics and has contributed to many bands throughout his career. He continues to play in several bands throughout the Green Mountains of Vermont and beyond, and knows no bounds when it comes to genre.

Vidorra's latest EP "Full Speed Ahead My Boy" is the perfect slice of hip hop influenced club music to smash up the dance in 2018. Percolating with a low bass end rumble, plenty of festival-ready hooks and a forward-leaning swagger which captures the best of what urban music can be; Vidorra is a breath of fresh air and welcome addition to global landscape of youth culture. The future is bright for this talented artist!

The "Full Speed Ahead My Boy" EP features the tracks: "New Wave, Don't Be Afraid", "Full Speed", "Make It Pop (feat. Dimi Marc)", and "The City". Each of these displaying incredible creativity and a future looking sensibility which helps pull this visionary talent to the front of a crowded pack. As someone who can unite global dance and urban culture, Vidorra is an important artist with a unique story to share with the world.

Hailing from Birmingham in the United Kingdom, 18 year old artist, producer and multi instrumentalist Vidorra is an innovative creator with his finger on the pulse of what's hot. Bursting onto the scene in 2017 with debut single "M.I.A" featuring American hit singer and songwriter Mickey Shiloh, who was first signed and developed by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. Mickey would go on to write and feature on records for Wiz Khalifa, Iggy Azalea and Jennifer Lopez, gaining Vidorra immediate support from the likes of Music Week, Record of The Day, Certified UK, IX Daily, and Zero Magazine.

Not content to merely simmer in the underground, Vidorra went all in on his next project, the EP "Riches", a joint effort with LA by way of Detroit rapper Young Twaun, whose notable credits include winning the Jack Daniels competition 遷ack'n-For Beats' judged by Kid Ink, DJ Envy and Angela Yee of HOT 97's - The Breakfast Club.

In February 2017, Vidorra won Best Young Act at The Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire. Vidorra was also nominated for Best Electronic Act. After landing a slot on the mainstage of Lymelight Festival in April 2017, Vidorra would focus his attention on his next single, the fiercely anticipated "Clarity", released on his own label WhatSheOrder in June 2017.

As 2018 is just beginning to get underway, Vidorra has his eyes on the prize as he continues to make the power moves necessary to reach the top. Not someone to sit back and watch, this 18 year old prodigy is doing it, and making it happen. A true inspiration for the bedroom producers everywhere, Vidorra is an exciting addition to the overly saturated and increasingly formulaic landscape of contemporary popular youth orientated music.

Check out Vidorra's future classic EP "Full Speed Ahead My Boy"!

Music And Kids Joins Forces With Carnie Wilson, With Plans To Provide One-on-One After-School Music Education To Thousands Of Middle And High School Students

Music and Kids ( is a newly-formed 501(c)(3) non-profit organization started by singer-songwriter and performing artist Chuck Murphy, who resides in Palmdale, California, in the heart of the Antelope Valley. At the 2017 Almond Blossom Festival, Chuck Murphy was presented with the Quartz Hill Chamber's Person of the Year Award for his service to the community. Murphy's tradition of service continues with the formation of Music and Kids and its contributions to the communities in the Antelope Valley and beyond.

The mission of Music and Kids is to bridge the growing gap between government-funded educational programs in music and private funding.

In keeping with their mission, the first initiative by the Music and Kids organization involves providing one-on-one, after-school music instruction to 1,000 middle and high school students starting in the Antelope Valley of California and expanding to Southern California. To get this started, the first promotion, the Jr. Star Search Competition, will be a karaoke-style singing competition at the Almond Blossom Festival, hosted by the Quartz Hill Chamber of Commerce, on March 10th and 11th, 2018 in George Lane Park, Lancaster, CA. The Jr. Star Search Competition will involve 50 student performers enrolled in grades 6-12 (ages 12-18) in schools located in the Antelope Valley and 10 six-month scholarships will be awarded at the event. Registrations will be accepted through February 9, 2018. The application can be found online at

Joining Music and Kids as a celebrity judge for the Jr. Star Search Competitio is Carnie Wilson of multi-platinum award winning Wilson Phillips and Love Bites by CarnieŽ (

A second promotion is planned for the Coachella Valley region of California later in the spring of 2018.

Music and Kids will expand these efforts throughout Southern California and eventually nationwide in coming years. As the program expands, Music and Kids will visit schools all over the United States to raise awareness of the number of opportunities there are for performers as players of musical instruments or singers; or the support team as songwriters, recording engineers, and producers.

Music and Kids will be looking for the flowers in the field -- the students that are already standing out with their natural musical ability that may or may not be getting the ongoing education to develop their talent. Music and Kids will then help guide the students and parents with information and assist with scholarship funding when funds are available.

Music and Kids will join with communities to develop ongoing programs and events to continue the awareness for the need for music, music education, and the love a community can build through music.

The Almond Blossom Festival and the Jr. Star Search competition are free and open to the public, so Music and Kids relies on corporate and other community partners to provide volunteers to help defray costs and to contribute funding to the Music and Kids on-going one-on-one music program. Jr. Star Search sponsors will receive favorable publicity for supporting this novel event. For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Music and Kids at (661) 435-3143 or email We have a variety of packages and will gladly customize a sponsorship package to accommodate your needs and/or budget.

Singer/Songwriter Mandy Bon Releases "Traffic Jams" EP

Singer/Songwriter Mandy Bon has released 'Traffic Jams,' an EP made up of four original songs sharing the artist's insights into the ups and downs of life. Each song on the EP, 'Super Glue,' 'LA Traffic', 'Only A Fake' and 'Saying Goodbye', have corresponding music videos that can be seen here. The objective of the EP is to gain the artist representation by a major or independent record label.

Bon, a music major who plays piano, guitar and ukulele, decided to compose original music that reflected being a young twenty-something musician wondering aloud about her life path. "I get lots of ideas driving in L.A. traffic," says Bon. "A lot of songs come to mind." 'LA Traffic' highlights Bon being scared of commitment but willing to take the risk when she first started dating her future husband. "I was feeling very unsure about the direction of my life, was very nervous, I think people can relate," says Bon. "Kiss me in LA Traffic Take it slow we'll keep it classic Don't know where we're going But I'm not running away from You... You, me, and LA."

Getting Stuck
Another song on the EP titled 'Only A Fake' chronicles the universal frustration of getting stuck, with the anger being vented on oneself. "I wrote this when feeling very discouraged," says Bon. "In the end, the song is about pulling yourself out of that hole and keep stepping forward. Things will get better, even if at first it doesn't feel that way. We all have moments where we compare past with present." "Guess I'm only a fake Nice and neat for a day Pack away my mistakes Guess I'm only a Fake."

Uke Ballad
'Super Glue' is a ukulele-propelled ballad of love written to Bon's husband. The corresponding music video has the artist playing uke while flipping boards highlighting both her art and lyrics. "And I like you, even when I bug you, and actually I love you, alot!"

Bon hooked up with violinist Maile Hutchinson to breathe life into 'Saying Goodbye', "an honest song poured out of me when I felt absolutely devastated." "I'm a mess Watch me cry Driving home Dripping Sky." "Ok, so basically a very cheery song," adds Bon with a laugh. For the EP, Bon composed, recorded and mixed each track. Bon also helmed most of the music video production herself.

by The Grouch

Hej America!
The other day my friends at Bongo Boy sent me a preview copy of a new double album they are releasing. The name of the album is The 60th FYC Album and features talented Independent Artists were on the 1st Grammy Awards® ballot and is releasing THE 60th FYC album(cd). Talented, indeed, as I scroll through the roster of names on the track list I see some of my personal favorites.

1. Paula Boggs Band - Benediction 4:07 - Man, you have to dig the bass that starts off this track. One would have to be totally devoid of soul to not feel the groove. The piano that comes in is excellent. Paula's band proves that a band can be laid back and still rock! Lest you think the only thing that rocks are the musicians playing instruments, I would be delinquent in my role as a music critic if I did not mention that Paula has a God-given gift with her voice! In other words, she blows my mind.

2. Acoustic Radio - Better Man 3:54 - Next up is Acoustic Radio. This is a County jam that really reminds me of the old Allman Brothers' Band. For those of you have dismissed Country as being the lame music of ‘fly over states', listen to this song and tell me the man cannot sing and the guitar does not rock! Rock it does! Lest we forget, Rock and Roll is, in its essence, a blending of the blues which came from Africa and was changed into the blues in North America and Country which is connected to connected to the immigrants from Scotland and Ireland who settled in Appalachia. The combination of these two genres gave birth to a form of music that changed the world. Coming from the Country side of Rock and Roll, Acoustic Radio greatly contributes to the canon of music we all enjoy.

3. Elise Lebec - Queen of Light 4:36 - Man, I dig that percussion that starts off the track, before what sounds like a violin comes in with the melody. The focus, for me anyway, is on Elise's beautiful voice. Naturally, the players with her play as well as she sings, and I am a sucker for strings played well, but I just cannot get past that voice. Simply put, I feel like I have heard an angel backed by a smoking rhythm section with a violin player who can make the instrument talk. My only complaint is that at just over four and one-half minutes, the song ends too soon.

4. Martha Reich - The River 4:38 - This track starts with some beautiful keyboard work which is accentuated by some very nice strings. Martha's voice is nothing short of sublime. I am not really sure what genre of music this is, so I will simply call in "beautifully played moving music" In other words, if my dentist played Martha's music it would ease my sense of dread each time I visit him. This truly is a very beautiful song.

5. Donna Scott - Carnival 4:31 - Oh yeah, I dig the funky into that leads off with some wicked percussion. Then a jazz piano kicks in and I realize that this is essentially a Jazz piece. Now, in full disclosure, I usually loath Jazz. The reason is simple envy. I am an old Punk rock drummer and as such have difficulty counting beyond four. I cannot put my finger on it, but I am able to see what Donna and her wicked rhythm section is doing. I am actually able to follow this track and I find myself grooving to it. By the end of the song I have the big goofy grin I get when I really like something. When you add Donna's great voice over the band of massive players who are without a doubt enjoying themselves, you end up with a very special song.

6. Big Bone Daddy - All My Time 5:10 - Big Bone Daddy is one of my all time favorite Bongo Boy artists and I am very happy this song is included on this album. You MUST listen to this track. Each time I listen to this track, which is often, I swear it is a cover, but for the life of me I cannot place it. I am reminded of Procol Harum, but I am also reminded of the first music I ever really spent time listening to, that is Motown. Having been raised in Detroit, this was the music that was in the water. Everything out of Detroit has been touched by Motown (Yes, even Nugent lists Motown as a major influence.) and this track would fit right in. I swear this song should have been, (if it wasn't,) in the movie The Big Chill. Excellent work guys. I am emotionally moved each time I listen to this track.

7. Murat Ses - No No More 3:52 - Now, for something completely different. This track is a heavy synth track. Murat Ses is nothing if not energetic. This track is sure to get the dancers and ravers up and moving. She has a good voice and the song does groove. I particularly enjoy the sections of the song in which the bass is accentuated.

8. Maryann - Hips, Lips & Eyes 3:13 - Good God, I dig Country with a sense of humor. The song starts out with a Country vibe, before going into a Jerry Lee Lewis type of 50s Rock and Roll. The old-school horns in the background totally rock! Man, I hope those cats are wearing fedoras and shades. The thing that gets me are the lyrics. Ok, ok, Maryann does indeed sing well, in fact the song would suck if she didn't, but what I really like is this is an old-time seduction manual. I want to hang with Maryann!

9. Laura Ainsworth - The Man I Love Is Gone 4:18 - Man, oh man, what a voice!! Where does Bongo Boy find all of these fantastic female vocalists. This is a Jazz/Blues track that just demands to be played in a smoky underground club at 3:00 AM. But, wait there is more, the horn man is incredible. This is such a subtle groove, the drummer is using brushes, yes brushes! Talk about laid back intensity, this track is blisteringly cool in a 40s pre-Rock and Roll sort of way. Excellent work!!

10. Ricky Persaud Jr. - Reggae Blues 3:36 - Rick, I am a huge fan! For those who don't know Ricky is nothing short of a genius. He is a master of many instruments and I don't even think he has turned 20. This song is no exception. The intro builds into a thundering blast of sound that would make Clapton proud. I swear with those blistering notes, I hear a little Eddie Van Halen influence as well. Then the listener realizes that this is a Reggae song, but the kind of Reggae Carlos Santana would play. Complex, heavy, incorporating horns and spot on - as close to perfection as a recording can get. I really hope to see Ricky in person someday.

11. Maryann - Transparent World 2:57 - Maryann is back, and I am really digging the guitar intro. Those chords rock. Then her voice comes in and BOOM, there it is, ROCK -N- ROLL. The drums are heavy; the man knows how to pound. The guitar just lays down chord after chord in an excellent riff. I am not sure if this is a religious song, but in all honesty, I could not care less. She could be singing Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing on Rainbows for all I care. The music and her voice are incredible. I still want to hang with Maryann!

12. Vikku Vinayakram & The Selvaganesh Family - Guru Stotra ft. Siddhant Bhatia 6:01 - This is an interesting song. As he is not singing in a language I understand, I have no idea what he is singing. I can say that he has a good voice. I dig the percussion. I am reminded of when the Beatles went to India. There is a definite groove here and he seems to be rapping or at least trading licks between his voice and the percussion. Overall, this is a very interesting song.

13. Ingrid Nomad - No Mind 5:10 - We are back to something I am a little more familiar with. This sounds like a Cool Jazz track to me. The sound effects made by the extended cymbal ringing are cool and add to the atmosphere. The players are all very good with the bass and piano dominating the instruments. Ingrid has a magnificent voice that I really enjoy. Overall, this is a very mellow groove and I dig it. In fact, as the piano takes the lead, I am surprised how much I dig this song. I have the same feeling I had the first time I heard Traffic's the Low Spark of High Healed Boys, although the piano in this track is a bit more on the Jazz side, I am still captivated.

1. Frank Piombo - Keep It Movin'4:02 - Album two starts off this a jazzy piece that could have been featured at Studio54 back in the day. The players are all very good and the guitar does open up with a slightly effect-laden solo, before the horn steps up and blows some wicked notes. Then about two minutes fifteen seconds in the band changes tempo slightly in what turns out to be a bridge, before going back into their own version of Jazz Funk. It's cool Frank, you have kept my attention which is difficult to do and, really, I like your song!

2. Maryann - HITF 060617 3:50 - Maryann is back again. Man, this band just does not quit. This time out they are showing that they can play Pop tracks as well. The thing is that this is really good Pop, that could be an earworm. I have come to the conclusion that Maryann is simply a very talented and versatile band whom I really would like to see in person. Any chance you will be in Sweden this summer?

3. Beto Hale - The Only One 4:26 - This is a very sensitive song that is sure to make your girlfriend happy. Musically, there is enough guitar and the bass/drums are locked in, so I think a lot of guys will dig it too. I am reminded of Eddie Money. I remember, my girlfriend saying that Two Tickets to Paradise was so sensitive and beautiful and all I could think was "Yeah, and that guitar rocks."

4. Jordan Green - Take A Ride 2:57 - Jordan Green has scored a major hit with this Country/Pop jam. Jordan has a good voice and the absolute Country backup singers add to the song. Then at about the 1:40 mark Jordan opens up and shows the world what Country Rock guitar sounds like. Overall, this is an excellent jam that I will be listening to in my car as I curve around these mountain roads.

5. Ban Brothers - Tumi Bhorer Paakhi (female) 5:14 - This is another very interesting song, as I do not understand the language in which she is singing. What I do understand is what their stringed instruments are doing. I say stringed instruments, because I am not 100% sure what is being played. It sounds like a guitar, but as this is a type of music I have never heard, it could be some exotic instrument that I am not familiar with. In any case, the strings, the percussion, and her voice all combine to make an interesting, as well as infections song that demands a second listen.

6. Kathryn Shipley - Shine Your Love 3:53 - I dig the old 60s organ combined with the guitar that starts out what seems to be a rocking spiritual. Kathryn has a very good voice and the soulful background singers add to the groove. Man, if this is what Kathryn's church sounds like, sign me up. Growing up Lutheran, I feel ripped-off, our church had sucky music. If we had had music like this I might have paid more attention.

7. Armen Balyan - Fiya 3:01- Well, this is different from the last track, but it is cool nonetheless! Basically, Armen is jamming on a synthesizer while singing all about fire. I think the underlying theme is that life is difficult, but as long as we are here we might as well have fun, just be careful and don't get burned. Overall, Armen, you get an A+ for creativity!

8. Deborah Henriksson - Whisper 3:54 - Deborah, my fellow American-raised Swede, is one of my favorite artists on Bongo Boy. The reason is simple. She has an excellent voice! I could listen to Deborah all day. I really like the subtle lead guitar in the middle of this track, but it is Deborah's voice that is captivating. I defy anyone to this track and tell me it isn't beautiful. (Deborah, how about a fika this summer?)

9. Kama Ruby - Treasure Island 4:09 - This is another mellow song with a tremendous female vocalist out front. If I were Bongo Boy, I would seriously consider sending out Mandy, Deborah, Kama, Queen Sheba and your other fantastic female artists out on the road for a "Voices from Heaven" tour. Kama, too, has an excellent voice and I will be listening to this track many times.

10. The Two Tens - Keeping Hope Alive 3:10 - BOOM this track hits you square in the face right from the start. I really like good Pop/Punk and this, folks, is exactly what this music is. The music is far from complex, but it is played so incredibly well. Their singer has the perfect voice for this type of music and the band is very tight! I cannot help but think that these guys are really enjoying themselves. Their live shows must be incredibly energetic and a lot of fun!

11. Maryann - Life - "Thank You" 2:46 - Maryann, I am really becoming a huge fan! The bass intro is ultracool. The vocals are gritty and emotionally intense. This could be, quite easily, the best song Maryann has on the album. Excellent work!

12. Shea Welsh - Slowly Falling ft. Michelle Coltrane 4:52 - Very nice guitar work starts out the song. Then the vocals come in and I am thinking Bongo Boy should add another act to the "Voices from Heaven" tour. The band is laying down a mellow groove with enough flash to keep everyone interested between verses. All in all, this is a good song, by a group of talented players and a woman who can really sing.

13. Kala Ramnath & Ojas Adhiya - Om Namah Shivaya 9:06 - I am reminded of the Beatles in India again as this track starts. It is definitely interesting and the drone in the background keeps my attention. Then a funky beat is laid down by the percussionist and I find myself trying to figure out what he is doing. This song does groove, and I think it would groove much more if I were in Colorado now…

So, folks what is the bottom line? Simple, this double album is more than worth the purchase price. Sonz Of Thunder UK Champion A Message Of Unity On New Single "London City Anthem"

Music Video:

A message of solidarity and unity, this track and it's creators choose to take a view of their city which is inclusive and optimistic. Like so much of the best Reggae and Dancehall music, "London City Anthem" was inspired by challenging times. Written in response to the recent terror attacks at the London Bridge and Finsbury Park, "London City Anthem" is a song born of darkness which encourages audiences to reach for the light.

Natives of Northwestern London, brothers Shane and Dean Brown are inspired to create socially conscious music which moves bodies and generates thoughtful dialogue around important themes guiding our modern society. Choosing Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, RnB and Gospel as their creative tools, the brothers create music which inspires hearts and minds to see the opportunity in the world around them.

The Sonz of Thunder UK have a history of drawing inspiration from socially charged and politically challenging times. Following the death of South African President Nelson Mandela, the brothers Brown knew they had to write a song which would celebrate his life.

The musical production and video treatment for their track "Mandela" is considered a creative high point for the group. From the unique sound effects to the uplifting messages of unity and solidarity, "Mandela" is a vibrant musical celebration of the life of one of the most heroic individuals of all times. Nelson Mandela left an enduring legacy of freedom and opportunity on our world and the Sonz of Thunder UK have been able to champion this history and distill it into rhythmic dancehall inspired package.

Released on New River Sound Music, "London City Anthem" is a pulsing tribute to one of the world's most important cities. Building on past successes such as "Mandela" and "More to Life", "London City Anthem" promises a bright future for Sonz of UK Thunder and the city they love so much. Be sure to check out timely lyrics and bouncing island vibes of Sonz of Thunder UK's new single "London City Anthem"!

KAYA KENYATTA Is Comin' To Get You - But Luckily Your 'Time Ain't Up'!

Don't panic though as this sublime track actually has a positive message. 'Time Ain't Up' was inspired as Kaya Kenyatta found himself, amongst others, caught up in the financial crash, which had a huge affect on his career to become a trainee solicitor. It questions the concept of the 'American Dream', which all westerners seem to have adopted; forsaking all others for personal gain! 'Time Ain't Up' is in fact a statement...which we all need to take heed of, reaffirming that no-ones time is up until you're in fact 6 feet under, and that none of us should let others prevent us from chasing and achieving our goals. Kaya Kenyatta's way of getting this message across in 'Time Ain't Up' is worthy of critical review for sure. This is reminiscent of Eminem's early work...but on the next level! Trust me!

Kaya Kenyatta grew up listening to Hip Hop stalwarts such as 2Pac, Young MC, NWA, Immortal Technique, Ice Cube and Dr Dre to name but a few, and one can instantly tell that the old school influences are deep rooted, however his other big inspiration was Bob Marley; and the revolutionary traits that Kaya Kenyatta picked up on can be felt within his music. He also took note of what cutting edge producers were doing during his earlier years; citing Timbaland, DJ Premier, Kanye West and The Prodigy as having a huge part to play in his musical journey.

Born in Belgium to an English father and Belgium mother, Kaya Kenyatta studied at English and International schools, which exposed him to so much that the world had to offer at such a young age. I believe this had a huge part to play in forming such a versatile and well rounded musician. Kay Kenyatta started to spit bars during his university years and continued when he moved to Canada, where he also began producing for a number of years, before returning back to the UK. Kaya Kenyatta's music is evolving all of the time and I've no doubt that you are listening and reading about a future star...right now!

'Time Ain't Up' is available through all major digital outlets.

Runway 27, Left: Planned Release Of Third Album 'Triple Story' In Spring 2018

The release of Runway 27, Left lead guitarist Erich 'White Feather' Brandl's German-language autobiography 'So schaut's aus' (in English: 'This is where it's at!') in February 2017 was followed by the blues duo's first-ever performances in Great Britain (in April 2017) and appearances at bigger open-air venues in July (Haslach im Kinzigtal, Germany) and September (Volksstimmefest Vienna, Austria). While on tour in Britain, the duo seized the opportunity of recording for their third album 'Triple Story' due to be released in spring 2018. Eventually, whole-page articles were published on Runway 27, Left by acclaimed magazine 'Blues in Britain' (in October 2017) and on lead guitarist Erich Brandl by employee magazine 'Intern' by MA53 (municipal department) in Vienna (in December 2017).

With critical coverage by German magazine 'Der Folker', playing their first concerts in Switzerland and two of their performances filmed full length by Austrian TV station Servus TV, 2015 was a fairly successful year for Runway 27, Left. Receiving their first award ever, The Akademia Music Award for Best Blues Song in the January 2016 Akademia Music Awards, the new year 2016 saw the acoustic blues duo make a head start. On the winning song, The Akademia thinks that "Aptly titled, 'Tex-Mex Food And Texas Blues' combines easy lyrical stylings with a cool electric guitar riff to create a great anthem for any merry bar scene."

On their current album 'Friends And Catfish', Lukas Weber of Magazine from Vienna, Austria, says that "Half of the album was recorded at historic Sun Studio in Tennessee, the other half in Berlin; the result is something to be proud of (to listen to). Editor's picks: 'Blue Sunday' & 'Talking To Myself'."

Radio personality Josep Palmada of the Red Hot Blues Radio Show on Radio Vilafant from Spain thinks that 'Runway 27 Left from Vienna (Austria) show a very personal approach to the blues. It's a duo consisting of Anthony 'Tone' Kammerhofer and Erich 'Weissfeder' Brandl, mainly influenced by blues, country, Rock'n Roll, Zydeco and Bluegrass. Their second album 'Friends And Catfish' was recorded in the USA and Europe, and all songs on the album are original songs. It's great work.'

With more than 134 performances from 2011 to 2017 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, acoustic duo Runway 27, Left's first album 'Weekend Warriors' was released on their label 'Weissfeder Records' in March 2012. The harbinger of their first album, radio-only release 'Flawed & Flattened', had already gathered radio airplay in the UK, the USA, Spain, The Netherlands, Australia, Germany, Austria and Macedonia.

Eventually, April and May 2012 saw their first, brief guest appearances upon invitation by local artists in Memphis, TN, and New Orleans, LA. February 2013 saw them back in Memphis, TN, for recording their first few songs for their upcoming second album at historic Sun Records Studio, further enhancing their strong bond with St. Blues Guitar Workshop, too. The second part of their second album was recorded in September 2013 at Tonbrauerei Studios in Berlin, Germany. In January 2016, Runway 27, Left received the Akademia Music Awards for Best Blues Song for 'Tex-Mex Food & Texas Blues'. Both albums, 'Weekend Warriors' and 'Friends And Catfish' are available on all respective download platforms worldwide.

Highlights of 2016 and 2017 comprised Runway 27, Left's first-ever performances in the UK and bigger open airs in Germany's south-west - like Bräunlinger Strassenmusiksonntag and Festival der Strassenkünstler in Haslach - and Austria (i.e., Volksstimmefest Vienna).

Runway 27, Left is a blues project having former Trans Am/Sun Luca/Run Riot bass player Erich 'White Feather' Brandl and My Other Brother lead vocalist Anthony 'Tone' Kammerhofer team up.
The musicians (Erich Brandl - guitars, bass, backing vocals and Anthony Kammerhofer - lead vocals, rhythm guitars) try to reconnect with the roots of pop and rock music, calling their style 'In-Blues Entertainment'.

Runway 27, Left's concert schedule for spring 2018:

16 Mar 2018 - The Cattle Shed - Neumarkt i.d. Oberpfalz, Germany
