Forget Wine & Roses: Celebrate Valentine's Day With Breakup Redemption Single 'Since You’ve Been Gone' from Award-Winning Artist David Keeley

Just in time for Valentine's Day! But perhaps it's not what you think. Celebrating the fact that not everyone's Valentine's is filled with candy hearts and romantic rose petals is radio-ready single "Since You've Been Gone," a deliciously satisfying opus of post-breakup redemption.

Sung by award-winning rock n'roll singer/songwriter and film/Broadway actor David Keeley, the track conjures the timeless ballads of British singer/songwriter Robbie Williams. Released by Young Pals Music, "Since You've been Gone" is the second single from upcoming album "Pop," the first solo album from New York City-based songwriter and producer Ayhan Sahin.

Meshing organic instrumentation with contemporary production, the 10-track collection launched in January with "New Year's Eve At Home," which celebrates the joy of cozying up to a loved one for the holiday. The uptempo song offered full-on country flavor courtesy of vocalist Christi Bauerlee, a Nashville-based singer, actress and model.

The album "Pop" features 12+ diverse vocalists and musicians across a myriad of styles, including R&B & soul, dance, jazz, country and of course… pop. All songs are co-written and co-produced by Sahin with hit songwriter Bernadette O'Reilly, who has also worked for three decades in artist relations, management and song placement.

Each subsequent month, a new single will be released from "Pop" on all digital platforms, to celebrate an accompanying holiday—featuring a different vocalist among the project's rich roster of artists. In February, we have Keeley's "Since You've Been Gone," and in March, "Drink," featuring vocalist Denny Blake, will raise a glass to St. Patrick's Day.

For Valentine's, via "Since You've Been Gone," Keeley celebrates his healing after a rough and tumble breakup, singing, "No I'm not traumatized, everything's just fine, you haven't crossed my mind/Since you've been gone, I've moved along, I'm happy all the time/Since you've been gone, my life's not yours, it's mine."

As a veteran actor who has worked across stage and screen, Keeley starred in the original Broadway production of "Mamma Mia," and held the role of evil Evan Anderson in "The Manchurian Candidate," opposite Meryl Streep and Denzel Washington. He also played "Dad" in Toronto's stage production of "Billy Elliot," and has starred in numerous TV shows, including "Due South," with Paul Gross. The pair ultimately formed a successful rock band in their native Canada. While starring in "Mamma Mia," Keeley and Sahin found musical kinship in New York, and together, wrote and composed full-length musical "The Conqueror" which tells the story of a family trapped in the Middle East conflict, with original authentic music.

All instrumentation for "Since You've Been Gone" was recorded live with renowned New York musicians, including Dennis DelGaudio and Gene Blank on guitars, piano & keyboards from Rob Preuss, Mike Sorrentino on drums, and bassist Michael Stanzilis. It was mixed by Sahin and mastered at the famous Sterling Sound in New York.

JES, Shant & Clint Maximus Nominated For Grammy Award For "Hold On" (Fatum Remix)

The Recording Academy has announced the nominees for the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and dance music star JES is thrilled to be in consideration for BEST REMIXED RECORDING, NON-CLASSICAL, for the Fatum remix to her song with Shant & Clint Maximus, "Hold On."

The very first release off of JES' new label Intonenation Records, the nomination comes as no surprise to those who have followed the singer-songwriter's accomplished career from her beginnings as the featured vocalist on tracks with Tiesto, BT, Paul Oakenfold and more to her current reign as label head, DJ and producer.

"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported "Hold On" this year," says JES. "I really hoped that the debut release on my label Intonenation Records would be something special so receiving this nomination means so much to everyone involved. I think we all felt the song had a unique quality from the start and Chad and Bill from FATUM managed to elevate it to another level with their incredible remix. Thank you all for believing in our dream and having the courage to pursue it."

The DJ and radio support for the Fatum remix was off the charts, seeing play from Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, ATB, Myon and Shane, Cosmic Gate, Judge Jules, and many others. Fatum gives "A massive thank you to JES, Shant & Clint Maximus for asking us to remix such an awesome record. We've always been huge fans of JES' but we knew this vocal was special, and indeed it was!"

Shant & Clint Maximus "knew the track was a special one when JES wanted to release it on Intonenation Records as its first release. Her vocals were unreal and words cannot describe how powerful, how touching the lyrics are."

The 58th Grammy Awards will be broadcast on CBS on February 15, 2016 at 8/7c.

Soulful Songbird Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley Still Believes With New Music Release

When Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley sings, every ear in the room listens. She has the kind of sultriness that seeps underneath every nook and cranny in the listener and grips with a firm hold. It's one of the reasons why famed director Tyler Perry has continued to cast her for over a decade now in his many productions. With her new music project, "Still Believe," on her independent label, SodaFace Records, Riley has delivered a true showstopper. "Still Believe" is a faith filled, heart drenched conviction of love persevered and Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley delivers sweet dominion with each pumping note.

Passion packed with 12 tracks, penned by Riley and her writing partner, Luke Austin, "Still Believe," reverberates with silky soul, rhythmic R&B, dreamy jazzy undertones and bluesy thunder. "Still Believe in Love," the single release, is a powerhouse declaration of defiance in the face of love gone wrong. Showcasing Riley's scintillating vocal ability, the track is a melodious stampede with righteous fervor. On "Just Can't Stop," another selection, Riley dives in deep and serves up down home, blues trodden angst amid unrequited lust. "Work in Progress" reveals the songbird rocking hard in an anthem for trust-shattered hearts.

Many remember Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley from when she first burst on to the music scene in the late '80's with her torching classic "Thanks for My Child." She has since continued to propel her career and remains a formidable force on today's musical landscape. "Still Believe" is her second independent release since her CD project "Let Me Be Me," four years ago. Her fan base has grown exponentially via her exposure in numerous Tyler Perry projects, including "Madea Gets A Job," "Tyler Perry's Madea's Class Reunion," "Why Did I Get Married?" and most recently her starring role in the Tyler Perry play and DVD project, "Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned."

One of the Brooklyn native's proudest accomplishments to date is her homegrown vehicle, "Black Velvet Mondays," a musicians' and singers' jam session and showcase at New York's legendary Village Underground venue. The Monday night event has been going strong for almost 10 years now and streams live at http://www.TheVillageUnderground.com nurturing an international audience.

"I am so thrilled to be releasing this project right now. I know my audience has been waiting for some new music from me! This project further expresses who I am as an artist and where I am as a being," offers Riley. "We included a few of NYC's most phenomenal musicians and there is a song included which is an ode to my Black Velvet Monday's weekly event and all the artists who participate, titled "Trust Your Gift."

"'Still Believe' is an absolute treasure," adds Riley. "You can press play at the beginning and just let it go. It flows and feels good and you will absolutely want to listen and repeat. I'm excited for everyone to hear this music and look forward to performing it for the world! I still believe that music should be as much about how it personally moves you while listening as it is about how it sounds! With "Still Believe" the songs go beyond your ears and straight to your heart and soul. My prayer is that "Still Believe" touches everyone as a full experience, sounding great and feeling greater!"

Vocalist/Songwriter Halie Loren Explores Transformation And Self-Realization On Soulful Release, Butterfly Blue - Available June 9 Via Justin Time Records

The butterfly has long been a powerful symbol of rebirth. The lowly caterpillar's emergence from its cocoon into a thing of beauty in flight is a vivid embodiment of transformation and self-realization. The title of Butterfly Blue, the stunning and soulful new album by vocalist Halie Loren, evokes those poetic images, but tinged with a sense of bittersweet melancholy.

Loren has found quite a bit of metamorphosis over the past few years, growing from a West-Coast singer-songwriter to an international jazz celebrity in Japan and Asia, where the singer has now performed dozens of sold-out concerts and found her music climbing to the pinnacle of many a sales chart, including three consecutive Billboard Jazz #1 albums in Japan.

Her career and musical growth continues into 2015, the year which finds Loren spreading her proverbial wings wider than ever before with the release of Butterfly Blue, drawing inspiration from blues and soul music influences in a deeper way than she has in the past, while firmly and unapologetically planting one foot in the jazz realm and the other in pop. She does this without losing any of the warmth, charm and sensuality that has always characterized her unique vocal approach. But the thread that connects the album's mix of jazz and Songbook standards, reimagined pop songs, and original pieces is captured in that seemingly contradictory title."

"A lot of these songs were chosen because they explored different aspects of imprisonment and freedom," Loren explains. "Many of them have to do with ideas of being beholden to thoughts, feelings, and experiences from which you alone can also free yourself."

The album's title marries two original pieces that exemplify that theme. "Butterfly" was written by Loren, who imagined the insect's transformation from the caterpillar's point of view, facing the prospect of having to pass through a literal death in order to experience rebirth, relating the experience to that of human suffering being the catalyst for spiritual growth. "Blue," one of two songs penned by guitarist and songwriter Daniel Gallo, expresses empathy and promises of a brighter future to a lover in the deep throes of melancholy. Joining the two, Loren says, "really felt like an apropos combination. It's about finding the way through the pain of experience to a new, wiser, more beautiful version of yourself. But you have to go through the journey; that's where the real pain happens."

The two songs also boldly spotlight the album's musical influences: the stabbing horns and soulful pleas of "Butterfly" conjure soul touchstones like Otis Redding or Etta James, while "Blue" lives up to its name through Gallo's gut-punch guitar and Loren's powerfully communicated longing. While she's quick to say that Butterfly Blue is by no means a blues or soul album, those storied genres color the whole album. "It has touches of the things that have heavily moved me musically over the years," she says. "I've been a fan of a lot of different kinds of music my whole life, so I was interested in stretching out beyond the territory I've explored over the last few albums and digging deeper into more of my bluesy roots."

To realize those ambitions, Loren added horns and strings to the arrangements in a more extensive way than she has in the past, though with a light and always effective touch. These additional musicians, William Seiji Marsh and Gallo on guitars, David Larsen on saxophone, Joe Freuen on trombone, Dana Heitman on trumpet, Rob Birdwell on flugelhorn and trumpet, and Katherine Dudney on cello, join Loren's longtime core band, (pianist and co-producer Matt Treder, bassist Mark Schneider and drummer Brian West) featured on the majority of the singer's releases to-date. Together the ensemble subtly nods toward classic soul blues sounds within a modern jazz context.

Butterfly Blue begins on a more winsome note, however, with the wordless vocal melody of Loren's "Yellow Bird." Despite the playfulness of the song's Tin Pan Alley feel, however, the lyrics fit the album's darker theme. "The idea of freedom being an internal feeling rather than an external reality came to me in the image of a bird in a cage," Loren says. "I thought, 'What might they dream about?' On the surface, it's kind of a cute song with a cute melody, but the meaning of the lyric goes deeper into more esoteric notions of how subjective our perceptions of 'reality' are, and to what degree we are masters of our own experiences in this life."

The notion of using animals to express deep-felt emotion comes easily to Loren, who has always felt a strong connection to the natural world. Born and raised in Alaska, she's lived for the last 17 years in Oregon, where she maintains a strong connection to the outdoors.

Loren's rendition of Charles Trenet's "I Wish You Love" is a unique hybrid of the original French lyrics, with a brief detour into the better-known but less expressive English lyrics. "Stormy Weather" is stretched into a sultry, teasingly languorous blues, while "Our Love Is Here To Stay" offers a sense of familial nostalgia.

"After The Fall", the second song penned by Gallo, tells a story of a woman in the winter of life, reminiscing about a long lost love through music that formed the soundtrack for those precious memories of youth. "I had the rare opportunity to hear this song as it was coming into being through hands other than my own: an original song I didn't write but that was entirely new to the world, crafted with such a richly emotional story and vivid imagery - it was love at first listen."

"I've Got You Under My Skin" continues the album's theme of emotional or spiritual imprisonment, here captured in the song's tale of uncontrollable obsession, heightened by the spare, snake-charmer tone of the arrangement. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is given a darker-than-usual perspective that illustrates the thoroughfare's hopeless denizens.

Loren's "Danger in Loving You" is reprised from her 2010 live recording Stages, and is included as both a long-overdue studio version of the song as well as a tribute to the vocalist's longtime songwriting partner, Larry Wayne Clark, who passed away in 2013. "Carry Us Through," lifts the spirits by adding New Orleans accents to singer-songwriter Sarah Masen's song of survival, and the set ends on a hopeful note with the late Horace Silver's classic, "Peace."

Loren explains, "The idea of the song is that if you can find peace inside, everything will be all right with the world outside. I love that it embodies a zen-like quality in both message and music while so beautifully reiterating the concept of freedom being a choice, an internal experience. I thought it would really round out the feeling of the album nicely and bring it back to this place of simplicity."

Upcoming Halie Loren Performances:

Swedish World Music Artist Malou Berg Releases Highly Anticipated Album "Den Inre Vagen" (The Inner Path)

Den Inre Vagen (The Inner Path) -- the latest release from Swedish World Music vocalist Malou Berg will be available on iTunes May 22nd on Malou Berg ProSongs AB. Berg's latest offering is a "modern mass" with a distinctly Gospel feel that is certain to deeply touch and amaze listeners. Den Inre Vagen (The Inner Path) was composed and arranged by Malou Berg and Anders Ekdahl. Created expressly for 3 soloists representing the tenants of Faith, Hope and Love. Berg's conviction and musical skill evoke an overwhelming musical experience, and her swelling musical suite will leave no one untouched. The piece features 20 separate, but related songs featuring vocalists Olle Persson ("Love"); Lena Maria Klingvall ("Faith") and Malou Berg ("Hope"); as well as a choir (Sacre Chouer), a band and a string quartet. "For several years I was talking about composing a piece of music with a beginning, a middle and an end," says Berg. "In the course of composing this album, I found myself writing for three individuals, three voices -- Faith, Hope and Love -- with different personalities, longings and weaknesses. They are all on the path of life, but on different distances from the final goal. They share a longing to find God, to be near, true and faithful to their heart as well as the difficulty of finding and walking their inner path and a quest to experience limitless love. Yes, Den Inre Vagen is about all of that." On the track, "Oppna Ditt Hjartas Dorr" ("Open the Door to Your Heart"), Berg offers a welcoming message of love and encouragement to start fresh and leave behind old baggage, while on "Hor Min Bon" ("Hear My Prayer") -- a choir sings of a yearning for God. The narrative weaves its compelling way through tracks like "Se Dig Om" ("Look Behind You") and "Jag Tror, Langtar Och Vill ("I Believe, I am Longing and I Want To") as the voices of Faith and Hope struggle with life's fundamental question, "How do you listen to your heart?" Ultimately, Berg's inspired narrative culminates with "Sla Hjarta Sla" ("Beat My Heart, Beat") which reminds the faithful avoid becoming mired down in bitterness and always allow hope and joy of life stay with you. A native of Stockholm, cabaret artist/composer/vocalist Malou Berg has performed on theater stages, and acted in both film and popular television series, and her songs have been covered by a variety of artists. Educated at the prestigious Adolf Fredrik Music School in Stockholm as well as the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Berg has received numerous awards including: a 1982 STIM (The Swedish equivalent of an ASCAP award) and a Certificate of Achievement in the Billboard Song Contest's Gospel category. In addition, Berg was awarded the 2009 Word-Prize at the annual WORDFESTIVAL for creating her own sensual and musical language, Pleiadian - as well as for her capability to, "inspire others to express themselves in singing the words and enjoying them." Tony Adamo & Mike Clark – Rollin’ To #1

Singer/Hip Spokenword artist Tony Adamo has gone to the top of the charts at allaboutjazz.com with his new conception on vocal/spokenword song “9 Miles of Blu”. “9 Miles of Blu” was produced by legendary drummer Mike Clark formerly of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters. ”9 Miles of Blu” has been at #1 on the allaboutjazz.com charts for the last ten days. Adamo’s remake of the Tower of Power classic “What is Hip” is at #22 in the top 50 most downloaded songs on allaboutjazz.com charts for top songs for 2011. The esteemed Clark is also on board as producer for Adamo’s unreleased CD, “9 MILES OF BLU,” in which Tony Adamo pays a verbal homage to Dizzie Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, and other widely recognized jazz masters who led the way for the music we enjoy today. Devon Jackson, Rolling Stone & Village Voice, said: “There is energy and honor and wonder in Adamo’s words, especially in the fluid alliterative syncopated way the words reflect the inspiration that jazz gave him. Using cleverly smooth but complex combinations of jazz melodies, “9 Miles of Blu” is a funky, jazzy get in your face groove. Complementing Adamo’s nimble vocals are Mike Clark and guitarist Steve Homan, both of whose equally homage-ist beats and licks, respectively, are hip clean and entirely their own.” Devon Jackson, Rolling Stone & Village Voice

Music Review Tony Adamo's 9 Miles Of Blu

Adamo reaches into the pre-rap turf of Gil Scott-Heron here with this seductive too-short flash memoir about how he discovered jazz and its legendary envelope-pushers—Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Miles Davis. There’s energy and honor and wonder in Adamo’s words, especially in the fluid alliterative syncopated way the words reflect the inspiration that jazz gave him—as an artist, as a human being. Complementing his nimble vocals are former Herbie Hancock drummer Mike Clark and guitarist Steve Homan, both of whose equally homage-ist beats and licks, respectively, are clean but entirely their own. Devon Jackson has written about music and film for a variety of publications--from Entertainment Weekly and The Village Voice to Rolling Stone and Details. Certitude is made up of 11 country-inspired jazz tracks featuring collaborations with an impressive roster of guest artists including Redd Volkaert (2009 Grammy® Award winner for Best Country Instrumental Performance) who contributes to the album's country influence and Texas Music Hall of Fame member Ernie Durawa (a jazz drummer who has played with the great bassist Gene Ramey, trumpeter Clark Terry and guitar masters Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd, Pat Martino, Jackie King and Larry Coryell).

Four members of the highly regarded Rock/Americana/Jazz band, The Monstas, use their formidable talents on each track be it as bassist, drummer, percussionist or guitarist.

"I'm extremely proud of this album, and I'm looking forward to finally being able to share it with my fans," said Taylor. "I'm especially excited about having had the opportunity to work with such amazing artists."

Certitude has already been called "a wonderful addition to any music library" by MyMusicSuccess.com and "an album definitely not to be missed" by Daybox Records. Reviewer, Rosana Caban, says, "This will easily be embraced by fans of jazz who wouldn't mind a bit of country in their lives AND fans of country who wouldn't mind a little jazz in theirs."

Taylor's first album, the award winning Round Midnight, was welcomed with rave reviews in 2008. Critics have applauded her as a "splendid surprise," and have said that "her performances are in a class of their own."

Listen to either of her albums and you can tell Taylor is comfortable and at ease with her music. She obviously taps into her personal experiences to breathe life & emotional depth into each song she sings whether it's a smoky love song or some swinging up-tempo, snap-your-fingers number.

In addition to providing her beautiful vocals on Certitude, Taylor is also a talented artist, having designed all of the artwork for the album. She is also a dedicated humanitarian, lending her support to a number of causes that support others who have endured adversity or are in the midst of their challenges. She is currently working with international recording artist Jonathan Emile to develop a cross-genre single that will be an Internet release, with proceeds benefiting The Ronald McDonald Houses in the U.S., as well as Coast-to-Coast, a Canadian non-profit organization supporting children with cancer.
