Saxophonist/producer Kayla Jazzmin recently released the track "Latin This" from her upcoming jazz CD, Caring Is An Option. The album will be released in October, 2010 on her Just After Dark Music label. Her musical style is the result of a fusion of many genres - smooth jazz, funk, old school, R&B and hip hop.

Playing both saxophone and keyboards on the single, Kayla describes it as "Latin jazz with a hip hop influence". April Jones of MusicDish calls the track "both smooth and spicy, like a cup of bold, exotic coffee swirled with sweet, rich cream. The combination of jazzy saxophone and Latin drum beats is a perfect blend." A multi-talented instrumentalist, Kayla also plays the guitar, bass, clarinet and flute.

Born in Philadelphia in 1987, Kayla grew up listening to jazz and oldies. She began playing sax in middle school, but her musical career began at Calvary Bible Church in Philadelphia. "Pastor Doug Logan set up a group to help the kids in our neighborhood stay out of trouble because the streets were pretty tough. He established a group called Tabernacle of Prayze, where I jazzed up the melodic lines to church songs on the sax, accompanied by a drummer, bassist, and pianist."

The Tabernacle of Prayze group members built a studio in the basement of Pastor Logan's house using money received from performances at churches and investors to produce their first and only CD. Prelude To A Blessing, released during Kayla's senior year in high school in 2005, sold 1000 copies locally." Gospel singer Tye Tribett was instrumental to the album's success.

It was during the making of Prelude To A Blessing that Kayla learned how to produce. She continued performing while attending the Community College of Philadelphia, and took Music Technology to fine tune her production skills.

Caring Is An Option is Kayla's third CD. The quartet disbanded in 2005, but she went on to produce her debut demo CD entitled Just Me in 2007, and a holiday CD in 2009 - Kayla's Christmas Jazz. A Specialist in the United States Army, she is currently stationed in Ft. Hood, TX. Upon retirement from active duty in the Fall of 2010, Kayla plans to concentrate on her music full time. She also plays sax for the Austin, Texas based group Kamunique, though she will continue to pursue a solo career.

Esteemed New Wave Rock Band, Wang Chung Announces US Tour To Coincide With The Release Of CD "Abducted By The 80's"

Los Angeles, CA - May 10, 2010 - In the current state of rock music, there are not many bands that are likely to see the kind of success achieved by veterans, Wang Chung.

Coming out of the post-punk era of the 1980's UK music scene, the band – throughout their 30 year career – has released 5 albums, 2 greatest hits compilations and has had 6 US Top 40 hits.

In the process, Wang Chung has become part of the vernacular of modern-day pop culture. The smash hit, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," brought to the forefront the creation of a new verb utilized by everyone from Homer Simpson and Frasier Crane to Austin Powers (check out the web site http://www.wangchung.com/ for some great samples).

Their current upcoming release, "Abducted By The '80's," is comprised of a double CD package. CD One, also known as "Wang," consists of the band's biggest hits, including re-recorded versions "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," "Dance Hall Days," "Let's Go" and an acoustic version of "To Live and Die in LA," CD Two, or "Chung," features brand new material. The lead track, "Rent Free" is an homage to the band's history of catchy pop tunes with "Stargazing" and "London Orbital" also connecting to that legacy.

During the interim of the post Wang Chung era, founders Nick Feldman and Jack Hues have certainly maintained busy schedules. In 1995, Nick co-wrote "I Am A Man," with Suggs, (lead singer of the group, Madness) for the film remake of the hit British television series, The Avengers. The song became a top UK hit.

Feldman then went on to an A&R position at Warner UK and later, head of A&R for Sony Europe / Sony BMG, signing Bullet For My Valentine, amongst others.

Jack Hues worked on various soundtracks in the 1990's, including the William Friedkin film, The Guardian. He later teamed up with Tony Banks (Genesis) to form the one-off group, Strictly Inc. The band released a self-titled album in 1995.

Following this, Hues formed the hybrid-jazz unit, The Quartet. They recorded two albums, Illuminated (2007) and Shattering (2008). Both CDs were released through producer, Chris Hughes' (Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel) label, Helium.

Interest in "Abducted By The '80s," arose as the result of Wang Chung's featured involvement in the "Regeneration Tour" with British pop act, ABC. Since then, Feldman and Hues have been honing material for the new CD.

Hypersonic is the debut CD by Mac Dividinz being released at Sunset Urban.

Some veteran rap and hip-hop aficionados have articulated many concerns over the direction of hardcore rap in the recent years and dating back to the early 90's. Their argument is that hardcore rap told a story with a heavy conscience in the '80s, and then rap segued to talking about their own bling while they dove in sports cars pitting east coast and west coast rappers proudly referring to their own selves as, a "thug" while smoking blunts surrounded by "bitches, hoes, and hotties shaking big booties." However, in today's world, rap can be very positive and uplifting with MCs and popular rap bands like the Roots, Too $hort, Public Enemy, Common, Eminem, Ice T, Blackalicious as well as other rappers that sing with that hardcore and style that is very much in your face. Mac Dividinz's debut album, Hypersonic, is no doubt hardcore and no doubt in your face from beginning to end of this CD. The Oklahoma-based rapper was a teen when he initially started rapping music while today; his songs have grown to be very accessible to any audience that loves rap music. He speaks about socio concerns in a very severe way.

For instance with the initial single being worked to the urban radio format to stations all over the world, "I Got This" communicates an accessible story geared to grab anyone from any socio environment. Born David Jones and raised in Oklahoma, USA, (Mac) Dividinz grew up with an eye on his artist career. As a teen, he followed the lead of his influences growing up by writing and performing on his own, until he eventually sent in the "raps" to (Don) Lichterman at Sunset Urban. Urban/Contemporary Gospel artist Reginald MaGee has released his album, entitled "Pressing On." Although this is not his first recording, with 13 hard hitting tracks (available in both EP and CD formats), it is his first solo album.

MaGee began singing at age 4 in the Sunshine Band at Emanuel COGIC, his mother's church in northern Indiana, and credits his faith to "a God fearing mother and a hard working father." He continued to sing throughout his childhood, as a teen, in college, and in various other choirs, groups, and praise teams. Much of his adult experience has been as a praise and worship leader or music director in churches.

Commenting on why "Pressing On" is different than other gospel CDs, MaGee said, "Lyrically speaking, the CD is very broad. It deals with a lot of difference topics. In fact, one of the songs addresses domestic violence. There's a lot of compassion and grace in the songs. Musically speaking, it's very urban and is set against a very solid Christian theme, but it's not just a praise and worship album. It deals with life and relationships, both with one another and with God, but the foundation of it is love."

There's certainly no shortage of favorable press for the album. SingersUniverse recognized MaGee as one of February 2010's top five vocalists of the month, while Michael Friedman of Skope Magazine stated, "Reggie is one of Skope magazine's April 2010 Artists to watch." Critiquing the album, Jon Peritz of MusicDish stated, "Reggie Magee's debut album "Pressing On" is a unique mix of funky urban grooves and gospel love. MaGee was recognized by Ebony Magazine in May 1992 for his debut album released on the TM Records label entitled, "He's Always Standing There". That album was released under the name Reggie MaGee and Company, which was a group he put together to make the album. MaGee was also nominated for a Gospel Excellence Ministries Award (GEMS) in October 1992, and was the Indiana Black Expo male vocal category winner in July 1991. He contributed two tracks to Dr. Leonard Scott's 1997 "Celebration Of Praise" album, released on the A&M label in 1997: Shower Down (which he co-wrote) and Behold Him. Behold Him was re-released on the 1998 album "Tyscot Live ‘Round Midnight".

Enduser's glitch programming strides in territories previously undiscovered, and Submerged's blocky beat sound adds girth to the post-apocalyptic nightmare of The Blood of Heroes. Dr. Israel's vocals carry warlike dancehall vibes and add a narrative sense to the record, placing us firmly in post solar flare society. Live drumming appears on several tracks, provided by Seattle's KJ Sawka (Pendulum) and Budapest's Balazs Pandi (Merzbow, Venetian Snares).
