An Underdog's Tale

Over the years of being a publicist I have had the pleasure of writing press releases and other material for some very talented artists. I have always enjoyed writing for Chicago R&B artist Brandon James. Over time his story has unveiled itself and unraveled within his music. I've had the privilege of writing this story and coordinating its delivery to fans and media. It is truly the story of a underdog who against all odds has pursued his dreams and is now watching those dreams come true. Below is a recent interview I did with the artist. Instead of changing it into a standard press release I felt it best to leave it as is.

> Tell me a brief history on your struggles in music.

"When I started out I struggled finding my sound.. I would always compare and contrast my abilities making me hesitant and insecure until one day I got over all that and allowed myself to be myself."

> Tell me a brief history of your struggles in life.

"We all have a story to tell I guess lol. But I had an absent father and a distant mother I learned quickly to motivate myself but through that I became dependent on outside relationships like my friends and teachers. It wasn't easy and I used to stress so much about my family and social life I would actually start losing my hair. Music became an escape and a focal point which ultimately saved me from a very dark place."

> Why do you or why would you consider yourself a underdog?

"I've always felt like I'm fighting for what I want bottom up. Meaning I've had to overcome being underestimated, under educated, or honestly just not liked. Struggle seems to have always been a part of my journey."

> So what exactly inspired the song "An Underdog's Tale?"

"It was an honest picture painted by song of what I felt growing up. I also wanted to provoke and honest response from those who heard it. I believe music should be honest and relate-able."

> How and where was the song recorded?

"Written at home and recorded in the studio."

> What does the song mean to you?

"It honestly means hope. It's reflective and it's inspiring to reflect on how far I've come in my personal development."

> Has your struggles in music lead you to any joy of success?

"Yes once I allowed myself to be myself I have been able to accomplish so much. Lesson one learned is to get out of my own way."

> What would you say to your fans and people in general about being the underdog?

"Being an Underdog is not necessarily a bad thing. When you fight for what you want victory is way sweeter because you don't owe anyone anything, be strong keep going."

> What are your plans in music from here

"STRAIGHT TO THE TOP!"

ReAmp Recording Studios In Orange County Announces New Ownership And Grand Re-Opening Celebration On May 4

ReAmp Recording Studios has announced their sale and upcoming grand re-opening celebration of their thriving studio in Southern California. The professional recording destination remains in business daily, and has exciting plans for growth in 2017. The ReAmp team invites friends, family and local media to a special invite-only event on May 4, 2017 to kick off new ownership and expanded studio offerings.

Local entrepreneurs Sharifa Dickenson and Bobby Dorsainvil made the decision to purchase ReAmp out of their passion for music, family and desire to scale the recording studio's business to new levels. ReAmp offers a variety of recording, mixing and artist development services, and will continue to focus on providing unsigned, independent and major label clients a top tier experience at competitive pricing. ReAmp was initially owned by Krazy Bone of Bone Thugs-N- Harmony and built by Steven Perkins with the construction process being documented by Pro Audio website Gearslutz.

With strong entrepreneurial and musical backgrounds, Dorsainvil worked for many years in music production and Dickenson spent many years as a professional video producer in New York. Both also take pride in their ethnic background, being Haitian and Barbadian/Bajan respectively and keeping the pulse of Caribbean rooted music in their blood. While ReAmp is known for and proud to work with all genres of music, they are also excited to support popular Caribbean genres such as Soca, Reggae, Dance Hall and Kompa.

The grand re-opening event on May 4 will be hosted by popular Los Angeles based comedian Donald George, and musical performances have been confirmed by Sterling Jones, Joy Pond and other special guests to be announced. Champagne, wine, beer and snacks will be provided and at 5:30pm guests can arrive early for a very special ribbon cutting by the city of Tustin.

Please RSVP for the May 4 grand opening to: Press@BobBradley.info

5:00-6:00pm: Ribbon Cutting by city of Tustin (Open To Public)
6:00pm - 9:00pm: Grand Opening celebration and musical performances (Must RSVP)

ReAmp's facility is composed of master level equipment, studio acoustics and construction that rival those of prestigious Los Angeles, Nashville & New York recording locations. Since their opening in 2015 by founders Stefani Rose and award winning producer Daniel Martin, ReAmp has provided memorable service to their vast number of clients and the new founders guarantee to do the same. With the acquisition, ReAmp is proud to bring over Tyler Wirtz to head in-house engineering, production and to act as general manager for the recording facility.

The ReAmp team has also announced they will be presenting at the 2017 ASCAP Expo this April from the 13th through the 15h. Founder Daniel Martin will be presenting on the topic of making music and will be awarding a lucky winner studio time in the expo's on-site contest.

Missing Link Music Signs Lil Uzi Vert

Originally having grown up in North Philadelphia’s Francisville neighborhood, Lil Uzi Vert is the only one in his immediate musical circle that is not from Atlanta — but he couldn’t sound more at home over Wheezy’s operatic piano riffs and speaker-stretching 808 rumble. The appeal of his style is not unlike a teenaged Lil Wayne, reminiscent of his vocal tone and penchant for melody.

In the past year, Lil Uzi Vert has experienced a meteoric rise. April 2016’s "Lil Uzi Vert vs. The World" featured his biggest hit to date, and set the pace for July’s "The Perfect Luv Tape", a tightly edited project that featured “Do What I Want,” a song that was prominently featured in a Jordan brand sneaker commercial in October. During this time, he also released a collaborative EP with Gucci Mane, which included a bevy of individual singles, and notched some 33 features in the press, all while touring consistently. SoundCloud crowned him their most followed artist of 2016, and during the second week of 2017, he achieved his first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to a guest verse on Migos’s “Bad and Boujee.”

And just last week Iggy Azalea released the hit single “Can’t Lose” featuring Lil Uzi Vert himself.

Missing Link Music is ecstatic about adding this new up-and-coming talent to its esteemed roster.
