D-Ash - Memory Lane

“Memory Lane” is a song that D-Ash dedicates to the life he lived without a father figure. The track has a traditional hip hop sound. There’s no hook just lyrics and he does a great job of getting his point across. His delivery is simple enough to be catch the ear easily but the words are complex enough to paint a picture of what he’s been through in his life. This is a very personal song to D-Ash and relates to what most kids go through now a days. Take a visit to the link below and give “Memory Lane” a listen for yourself. D-Ash Website D-Ash Music

Review of 'Love Kills' by This Is A Shakedown!

The Electro-rock band that-shakes-you-down and makes you sweat comes from Cleveland, Ohio where This is A Skakedown! has already been nominated as the hottest group in the area. Having conquered the tallest place in the local scene podium, the quartet seems determined to push on. A few days ago, I read on their myspace page that the band is ready to write another album, but I think that would be too much to enjoy, seeing as how Love Kills is taking with it a smooth fresh breeze of renovation in the rock-pop culture. The band has all the numbers to be globally recognized and to start thinking 'internationally'.

Love Kills is an album that runs at 100 mph with apparently no stops along the way, until the 10th track, which is a cover of Frank Sinatra's Funny Valentine, performed with a slow punk-metal feel. Circles, the album's opening track, already tells you from the first beats what you are about to face: a new power rock band with a strong groove and a remarkable sound. The band was born to make you move and the dance elements are prominent throughout the album. Tracks like Love Kills, Can't Stop, Oh!, and Come and Cut My Heart Out make it virtually impossible to sit still. If I had a friend who was a rock fan, I would recommend Love Kills. On some tracks, I can see 'evocations' of U2. Take for example the guitars in Electric Sound, where even the vocals reminded me of Bono Vox. 80's influences can be seen as well in the progressive sound of Radio.

Regardless of the dance elements on the album, great bands don't forget about rock. Tracks like You Make Me Wanna and The Beat show that This Is A Shakedown! hasn’t forgotten about the rock essentials. The horrible beauty of Caving In closes the scene and helps to remind you of what you have been listening to for the past 43 minutes. Again this is a great album, with lots of great tunes. This is a Shakedown! is a strong rock band supported by a fair rhythm section that rotates around a great front-man. I would give Love Kills a 10/10 because every song is a worthwhile listen, and they all contain the good elements of rock & roll.

THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN! Shakes Up Radio Stations

Electro-rock band THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN! has experienced significant radio play in recent weeks, with over 27 total stations adding their new album "Love Kills" to the radio waves. With increased radio play, they are sure to shake up the music scene, so keep an eye on this group, before everyone inevitably discovers them.

Stations like WWVU, WRAS, KWVA, and KDHX have given this up-and-coming band radio time and it has paid off. Reactions appear to be quite positive, with one station (KEUL/AK) calling the record "danceable hetero-angst rock" and another (WCKS/MI) calling the new record "killer". The band has been most successful in the mid-northern California area. "Love Kills" is currently the #5 most added album on the College Media Journal RPM chart. In addition, 2 RPM stations (KSYM and WRU) have already charted the full length in their TOP10.

Launched in 2008, THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN!'s Brandon Zano (vocals/guitar), Daniel Lee (bass/synth), Stephen Nicholson (drums), and Justin Nyilas (keyboards/programmer) blend wild electro-groove with heavy rock. Known for notoriously riotous live sets, THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN!'s music gets your blood pumping, your heart pounding, and your body shaking. Tracks like "Circles," "You Make Me Wanna," and "Can't Stop" are instant sparks, electrifying dance floors and charging the psyche to remember those groovy hooks. They even took Frank Sinatra's "My Funny Valentine" and transformed it into a slinky, sexy ballad suitable for a punk rock prom.

This Is A Shakedown! Debut Album Love Kills On Reversed Image Unlimited

It's dirty, decadent, delicious, and danceable. It's uncontrollable, uncontainable, and about to launch itself out of your speakers. Get ready to get catapulted into musical chaos, 'cause THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN!

Barreling out of the Cleveland music scene, this fresh new music act took a plethora of influences and made a hot, steamy, gumbo of a record that is boiling out of the pot. Taking pieces of industrial, punk, metal, goth, techno, R&B, and dance music, this electro-rock band is releasing their debut album Love Kills on May 5 through Reversed Image Unlimited.

They even took Frank Sinatra's "My Funny Valentine" and transformed it into a slinky, sexy ballad suitable for a punk rock prom.

Multi-platinum award-winning producer/engineer Michael Seifert is at the production helm on this project. Seifert tapped producer/engineer Sean Beavan (best known for mixing and producing music by Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, and Slayer) to mix the album. Digging into these ground-breaking roots, Seifert and Beavan bring that dark magic to THIS IS A SHAKEDOWN!'s already unique sound.

All around, Love Kills is a mash-up, mind-trip album busting at the seams with energy and innovation! It's on the way to a stereo, dance hall, or punk club near you. Prepare for the SHAKEDOWN!
