Chris Panaghi To Represent Cutting Edge And Music Catalog Of Liza Pesnell And William Zimmerman At MIDEM

Thunder Quest Records spokesperson, Sayaka Takeshita has confirmed that Chris Panaghi of DJG Productions will be representing the pop/rock band Cutting Edge and the band's two songwriters, Liza Pesnell and William Zimmerman at MIDEM 2012. As an indie band, Cutting Edge was the first indie band in history to debut two songs the same week inside the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts in July and August of 2011. The song "Without You" peaked at #7, while the song "If The Walls Could Talk" peaked at #11. Cutting Edge had five songs chart in 2011 and had other songs chart in the past 10 years, including "Every Time I Try", "Love Police", "It's Time", "Your Love Is My Oxygen", "Judas of D.C." and others. The band and its two songwriters, Liza Pesnell and Wiliam Zimmerman are thrilled that Chris Panaghi has agreed to represent the band at MIDEM. Representatives for Cutting Edge would not confirm or deny that the band has authorized Chris Panaghi to initiate negotiations with publishers, record labels and booking agents during MIDEM, but with the strong background that Chris Panaghi has in the music business, rumors are beginning to circulate that the band may be looking to leave their indie roots and consider other options. Mr. Jeffrey Beals, a Former Partner of the William Morris Agency considers it amazing that without a manager, booking agent, public relations firm or money, Cutting Edge was still able to chart 5 songs on U.S. charts, including two songs inside the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts. Mr. Beals also stated, "Cutting Edge produced all of this success without any radio airplay by Clear Channel Radio Stations or any other major radio network in the U.S." "I wonder how big this band would have blown up with airplay from the major radio networks like Clear Channel, support from a major label or even having some dollars to actually promote the band's music.....it is amazing." Shanghai Synergy Culture & Entertainment Group, together with China General Administration of Press & Publication (GAPP) and the China Audio Video Association (CAVA), proudly presents a rising new star, Ruhan, at MIDEM 2012 in Cannes. A press conference and cocktail reception followed by Ruhan's performing three tracks from her debut album "Time to Grow" at China Pavilion R02.01 on Sunday Jan 29th at 2pm. "Time to Grow" superbly showcases Ruhan's rich and melodious voice and wide vocal range. Consisting of ten tracks sung in Chinese with two featuring English translations, the album represents a truly international project. The writers for this album include the Swedish pianist Robert Wells, whilst the production mixing team is led by the Swedish mixing engineer, Bernard Lohr whose credits include working with Celine Dion, Westlife and Il Divo to name a few. "Time to Grow" is licensed and released by The Silva Screen Record Group, an international London-based independent record company, which is also home to one of the world's leading film and television specialist soundtrack labels. Through Silva Screen's worldwide distribution network the album is available in the US and Canada, via eOne Entertainment, and digitally throughout Europe via IODA. Phase I of the Music Industry Park was completed in 2011. The Shanghai Government recently announced that the Riverside area in the Xui Hui District will be designated for development of Phase II of the Music Industry Park. Phase II will be administrated by Shanghai Synergy. Ruhan's credits include her acclaimed performance in the double Grammy Award winning album, "Calling All Dawns" by Christopher Tin. This album is significant because it features the first Chinese-born singer to be released internationally via independent distribution before it had been released in China. In 2009, Ruhan won the First Prize at the 18th Discovery International Festival and Second Prize for bel-canto at the prestigious Llangollen International Music Festival, held in Wales. Ruhan is one of the first artists actively promoted by the national Chinese government. Other artists include the world renown pianist Lang Lang. The tracks "Peter and Mary" and "Embrace" become the top songs in the KTV line up, a position retained to this day. In 2004, Mayday embarked on an ambitious worldwide tour called 'Final Home - When We Are All Together' that took them to America, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Japan, with several concerts selling out within 24 hours.

They were nominated for both "Best Artist" and "Best Band" at the 2011 Golden Melody Awards, the latter of which they won. In August, they became one of the first Taiwanese bands to play at the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan.

Yen-J was introduced to jazz at the tender age of eleven. Now fully grown, he is not only a true "musician," but an idol. He joined B'in Music in 2008, releasing his first EP "Trapped in Taipei" in October 2009 and began touring livehouses, bookstores, coffee shops, and universities. Since then, he has performed more than 40 gigs and has been gathering fans from all across Taiwan. On April 22nd, 2010, he released his first album, "Thanks to Your Greatness," which immediately gained the attention of other super idols like Mayday and Leehom. The album combines a wide variety of musical styles, from bebop, rock and hip pop, to folk, R&B, and light rock, mixing eastern and western culture that creates a new and unique sound.
