My Secret Island is a project which has touched on a variety of musical worlds from the very beginning. The project first received public attention in 2010 with a limited EP called "The First Stories."

Berlin Music Week 2012

Berlin Music Week is gearing up to take over the capital and is proud to announce yet more artists, acts, promoters and organisers that will rub shoulders on the Spree from 5-9 September 2012, for a five-day, city-powered constellation of music showcases, concerts, parties, conferences, panels, seminars and networking opportunities.

Word on Sound
The Berlin Music Week convention, Word On Sound, is a new business and conference platform taking place from September 5–7, 2012, offering an in-depth program of live events, film, art, fashion, academics, community, political action and of course digital and analog commerce.

Club and Showcase Festival
The Berlin Music Week club program will be held from September 05 – 09, taking over many of the best-known and established spots the city has to offer: Lido, Magnet, Comet, Astra Kulturhaus, Festsaal Kreuzberg and Fritzclub @ Postbahnhof, in addition to newer clubs like Bi Nuu. Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg is the liveliest and most colourful quarter in the city – a true creative hotbed for music production and music related start-ups and tech, therefore the ideal location for Berlin Music Week.

The Berlin Music Week club ticket gives access to the hottest newcomer, the hippest acts and heroes of the scene in about 40 clubs in the city from 5th to 9th September 2012.

Festival of Festivals
Berlin Music Week will wrap the week up with a bang on September 7th and 8th, courtesy of the Berlin Festival at Tempelhof and its late night program, Club X-berg. Music Executive, Entrepreneur And Business Consultant Didier Kussu Gravely Injured In Attack

The attacker used many liters of acid which he poured onto Mr Didier Kussu's face and body. Mr Riefolo was arrested and transferred into a psychiatric unit, where the doctor has concluded that he is suffering from mental disorders. One of the investigating police officers who spoke on condition of anonymity said that he does not think that the Italian man is suffering from a mental illness, rather he believes jealousy and envy are some of the main motives for Mr Riefolo's action. To date, Didier Kussu has founded many companies and works in different fields such as Music and Entertainment, Energy and Waste Management, Metal and Mineral, Oil and Gas. Mr Kussu's legal representative was not available to speak, however one of the doctor said that he was still in a critical condition but they are doing the best they can so that the businessman will at least be able to see again.

Strumming It Out On Weekends

Following 22 performances in 2011 in Germany and Austria, acoustic duo Runway 27, Left's first album 'Weekend Warriors' is set to be released. Says Runway 27, Left's Erich 'White Feather' Brandl, 'Actually, it's all in the lyrics of our new album's title track. When you're the new kid on the block on the blues scene, you're essentially strumming it out on weekends.' The harbinger of their upcoming first album, radio-only release 'Flawed & Flattened', has already gathered radio airplay in the UK, the USA, Spain, The Netherlands, Germany and Austria. March 2012 sees the album 'Weekend Warriors' available at live performances and on download platforms. The release party took place on 9 March at long-time supporter venue 'Strasshofer Kellertheater', a unique venue a few miles east of Austria's capital of Vienna well-known for superb live performances of music and high-quality stand-up comedy. The road further took the blues duo to Bierkanzlei, Vienna's intimate focus for both audience and musicians run by 'beer chancellor' Manfred. However, Runway 27, Left's German friends won't be left in the cold with their 2012 performances in Hamburg, Lüdenscheid, Bonn, Bad Nauheim and Landshut. The duo's album trail comes to full swing having them strum it out in Austria again, calling on Frohnleiten at Café meLounge and Wiener Neustadt at Hexenbräu, with additional shows throughout the year still to be confirmed. Pop Artist Anouschka's New Album Released To Benefit Wildlife Conservation In Africa

Pop/Rock singer/songwriter Anouschka released her latest EP, "So Why?" on June 4, 2010. All proceeds from the EP's sales will finance the artist's goodwill mission to Africa to study as a Game Ranger/work with wildlife conservation over the next two months. The album features the songs "One Of The Finer Days," "Silently," the title track "So Why?" and "Lust" (which includes an alternative version that Anouschka says "can only be described as "a performance by my alter ego Lay dee Berlin".

"So Why?" is indeed a work that is close to Anouschka's heart, as she conceptualized and completed the entire project herself from writing and performing the music to designing the very unique cover art. Although she also produced the album, she acknowledged that it could not have been done without Harris Johns, the renowned audio recording engineer who worked with trash metal bands, in whose Berlin studio the album was recorded. Johns is widely known for his work with popular trash metal bands such as Halloween, Coroner, Tankard, Sodom, Volvod, Creator, and others.

Anouschka's second EP, "My Kind Of Heartbreak," was listed on the Americana charts for two months, earning rave reviews from the likes of M. Hillbom, Musikcritic (Musiklivet, Sweden), who noted "Eclectic and very good Americana... She has been compared to Rickie Lee Jones, Jewel, and Phoebe Snow. My girlfriend is reminded of Carole King and Buffy Sainte-Marie while I hear a little Lucinda Williams. The music is eclectic. Jazz, country, rock and blues are mixed in an extremely competent manner".

Despite critical acclaim for her previous releases, Anouschka is certain that "So Why?" is even better. "I've always written and produced my own albums, so there's nothing new about that, but this is the first time that I've been able to digitally record the vocals. The songwriting is a top notch balance of orchestration, musical composition and lyrics. I wear a lot of different hats to get to the finish line, but I'm managing the give the major labels a run for their money on my own with respect to quality, and that's a great feeling."

Performing in venues like the Stampen Blues Club in Sweden and the Babylon Theatre in Berlin, Anouschka regularly does jam sessions where she can improvise an entire song on the spot- playing, leading, and performing vocals.

TryXo Indie Invasion Tour: Derek Jordan, The J.U.S. Evolution, 9Lies & DEIN Ex

Four bands from three countries descended on Germany in June to rock out on the first leg of the TryXo Indie Invasion Tour. Thanks to TryXo (www.tryxo.com), an online music store geared toward independent artists, this unsigned talent had the chance to show a large audience what they're made of. Here you'll see a video collage of each of the four band's performances. They {Derek Jordan, The J.U.S. Evolution, 9Lies, and DEIN Ex} each brought unique styles and sounds to the stage and the crowd responded with wild enthusiasm.

Derek Jordan leads one of two American groups that will play on the Tour. Derek's music is all about individualism. He believes strongly in the fight against conformity and his music is his main weapon. He combines crunchy distorted guitar with heartfelt vocals for a sound all his own. The J.U.S. Evolution also hails from the States. They combine rock, replete with Jimi Hendrix-style guitar solos, and heavy hip-hop influences giving this Brooklyn born band an eclectic and unique style.

Europe is well-represented at the TryXo tour. 9Lies, from Northern Ireland, brings in music influences ranging from Nirvana to U2. They blend ethereal sounds with hard rocking guitars and phenomenal solos. Representing Germany and the continent is DEIN Ex (translated as Your Ex). This Wendlingen group sings about their relationships past. Their high emotion and defiant songs are consistent crowd pleasers.
