Big Things Coming From Lucy Kalantari

Lucy Kalantari will release her second jazz age inspired children's album, "Big Things", on Friday, September 16th and will celebrate with an album release concert on Saturday, September 24th at 11am, at ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn, NY.

Big Things is filled with jazz-scat-along play for kids and adults alike. Singing about finding joy and delight in the simple things in life, the songs will leave listeners feeling much lighter. Even the littlest fans bounce to the sweet arrangements with Kalantari on ukulele, Linus Wyrsch on clarinet, Larry Cook on upright bass and Rich Kulsar on drums. Special award-winning guests include trumpet player David Longoria, opera singer Adelmo Guidarelli, cellist Jessica McWilliams, and children and friends from Kalantari's broad fanbase.

From songs about gardening with loved ones in "Our Garden", to the fun-filled call & response of "Balloon", and the delightful imaginings of "It's Halloween" where supernatural beings take off their masks once a year, this 12-track album brings attention to the sweet delights of life. The title track, "Big Things", encourages the listener to find their voice and do Big Things to benefit the world.

Kalantari is an award-winning, Brooklyn-based children's artist, whose debut album Pockets Full of Joy left its mark in the kids independent music scene as it landed a Parents' Choice Silver Honor Award and earned a place in The Best Kids Music of 2014, by Cooper & Kid.

"The best jazz album of the year brings forth the roaring 20's with no prohibition on juice boxes." 朖eff Bogle, Cooper & Kid

After performing for hundreds of families at Kidchella in Philly in June, she's ready to kick off Big Things at her home base in Brooklyn with her album release concert on September 24th. Soon after, she'll embark on a tour in the Miami area ending with the 2016 Zun Z鷑 Children's Fest.
