Rising star Denny Strickland will host two, different week-long episodes of the popular program Country Fix TV today through October 25. Fans will have multiple opportunities to catch the handsome Country singer on Angel Two / DISH TV (Monday, Tuesday), Blue Highways TV / DISH TV (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), Heartland (Monday, Friday, Sunday), Family Channel (Saturday, Sunday) and AMG (Sunday). Check your local listings for air times.
"They're just the nicest folks," Denny says of the show's crew. "They premiered my newest acoustic music video, "Waymore's Blues," in September, and then invited me to do these shows. I had a blast."
The talented vocalist is quickly building an impressive fan base with the help of two MusicRow CountryBreakout™ Chart Top 40 hits: "Swerve On," and his current single, "How Far You Wanna Go." The Arkansas native's European-only release of the Conway Twitty classic, "I'd Love To Lay You Down," recently logged four weeks at # 1 on the international HotDisc Chart. Furthering his global presence, these Country Fix episodes will air at a later date on Country TV in New Zealand.
Denny is also getting his fair share of camera time; in addition to the companion video for his current single, he has filmed a total of three acoustic music videos under the guidance of producer/director Brian Harstine (Dolly Parton, Ke$ha) as a tribute to the stars who inspired him. Other titles include a cover of the George Strait smash "Run" and Twitty's timeless "I'd Love To Lay You Down."
Currently writing and gathering songs for an upcoming CD, Strickland is also touring, and a recent show found him opening for The Kentucky Headhunters.
Fans can enjoy recent features on Denny at the following media sites: The Boot, Taste of Country, AXS.com, Digital Rodeo, Examiner.com, Country Music Matters and Roughstock.
ABOUT DENNY STRICKLAND
Denny's early career was guided by The Statler Brothers' longtime manager (and Bass player for Johnny Cash), Marshall Grant. Strickland soon found himself sharing the stage with legends Kris Kristofferson, Rosanne Cash and George Jones. With Grant's passing in 2011, he took a brief hiatus; regrouping and re-focusing his efforts. An accomplished guitarist and keyboardist, Denny is also a former American Quarter Horse Association World Champion Western Pleasure winner (2007). Strickland still enjoys riding - on both his beloved horses and in his cherished 1968 Camaro.
