Taking Back Eden, based out of the five-college town of Amherst, Massachusetts is an original acoustic rock band featuring five women. The band is fronted by Carolyn Walker on lead vocals and violin, backed by Sylvie Abate on acoustic and classical guitars, Heather Sommerlad on violin and cello, Jen Spingla on bass and Christine "Tina" Abate on full kit and percussion.

With ties to folk, indie, rock, and classical music, the band writes and performs music with a message. Each women in Eden is a songwriter in her own right and together they spin thoughtful lyrics about women's issues, the environment, LGBT rights, social justice, love and relationships.

In addition to live performances, Taking Back Eden is donating fifty-percent of song sale proceeds to the non-for-profit organization, Every Mother Counts. You can purchase songs www.reverbnation.com/takingbackeden
