Alternative Pop-Rock musician Doug McCurry will release a new CD on February 3, 2015, entitled 'Doug McCurry & The Verticals'. The album is the first from McCurry since the 2012 release 'Romance Like It Was', and will be released on the 5-16 Records label.
'Doug McCurry & The Verticals' introduces The Verticals, long-time friends William Earl (Big Brick Building) on drums and Greg Gilbert (Swivel) on bass. All 10 songs are originals penned by McCurry, with the exception of 'Knocked Me Down' which was co-written with Gilbert.
'The Verticals are a funky bunch, and as a result you can definitely hear some R&B influences', McCurry says of the new release. 'This album has more of a live feel to it than the last one.'
Several guest artists assisted in the project including The Midwood Horns (Marcus Harmon on saxophone, Phil Howe on trumpet), Lisa Spring on violin, Toni Naples on accordion, and Donna Duncan on vocals.
