The Boom Boom Dance Video Rises To #1 On MTVMusic.com Top 100 In First Week

TheVine Records/Indie Extreme group, Chitlins, are celebrating their first week on MTVmusic.com with a meteric rise to #1 on the Top 100. The video heralding the new dance craze, The Boom Boom, debuted in the Top 100 on Saturday, Sept 5 at #91, jumped to #10 by Sunday morning, shot to #2 by Monday, sliding into the #1 spot on Tuesday morning.

“It’s been like Christmas every time we wake up, the momentum is incredible!” said Chitlins, “We are happy to see that people are embracing the song, the sound and the new what’s happenin’!”

The buzz-generating band is fronted by innovative New York-based artist Excite, a multi-talented player who draws upon both his rich musical history and dramatic acting chops to inject energetic creativity to the mesmerizing mix of The Boom Boom Dance. Various associations led him to a fateful meeting with well-respected, gold record-scoring producer Lee Stone (Pharoahe Monch, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu, Method Man), and creative fusion occurred in the best possible way. The mighty twosome did well-received work for esteemed Blue Note Records with jazz great and Grammy nominated Ronny Jordan, thrilling crowds at BET Jazz fests across the country. As Excite continued to develop his own voice he eventually began to post his own material on Myspace, where the buzz quickly grew for the new artist with the irresistible groove.

That buzz drew the attention of TheVine Records president Mario Costabile, founder of New Jersey-based Vine Music Publishing, an influential new company whose catalogue spans the spectrum from Pop and Rock to R&B, Jazz and Latin to Gospel. Their 25 years of experience in video and audio production, Costabile brings his practiced skill-set to the video production of The Boom Boom Dance, and it shows in the film’s crystal-like clarity and rock-solid production values.

The urban groove and Excite’s soulful delivery kicks things into a 21st century feel, even as the bouncy lyrics reference popular dances of the past, including the Jerk, the Monkey, and even the Macaroni. It’s all good in The Boom Boom, and if you’re not up on your feet in the first 60 seconds, check for a heartbeat. Look for The Boom Boom to make its presence known in a big way in the months ahead at clubs, parties, and weddings, as its interactive element takes the country by storm.
