Legendary Producer Tha 4orce And Confucius MC Present Their New Single 'More To It'

The beginning of 'More To It' sounds like a wild 80s rave. That was exactly the intention of Tha 4orce and Confucius MC as they take hip-hop back to the Golden Era, with the lead single from Tha 4orce's new album "Setting Standards." Be assured that this single sets the standard very, very high. It is as if the duo is challenging other rappers to a lyrical equivalent of the final round of the Olympic pole vault. Tha 4orce has been making quality hip-hop for decades, with remix and production credits including LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes. Confucius MC has shared the stage with Public Enemy. The two met 10 years ago and this single is the latest creative production from that long friendship.

The song's official video is straight to the point and therefore a perfect accompaniment to this release, with the camera focusing throughout on either Confucius MC, Tha 4orce, or the decks on which he plays, interspersed with shots of their hometown London, a significant source of inspiration for the duo.

The nonsensical singing currently present in much of mainstream hip-hop is totally absent from this single, as Confucius MC raps throughout, dropping profound lyrics such as 'from pole to pole/sea to shining sea/ rappers lying to themselves on hide-and-seek' to make clear that Confucius MC is probably one of the most underrated MCs in the game right now and shows that, as far as the art of rap goes, there really is more to it, than the radio would have you believe.

The Legendary Voice - Patti Drew Makes Her Return

Patti's first single, "Tell Him," hit number 22 on the R&B charts in fall 1967. One year later, her recording of the Neil Sedaka/Roger Atkins song "Workin' on a Groovy Thing" made it to number 34 R&B. Drew's other singles were "Hundreds of Guys," "Keep on Movin'," "Hard to Handle", made famous by "The Black Crows" and "My Lover's Prayer." Then in 1971, the bottom fell out. "The culture of music performers at that time was fast, stressful and demanding," Patti said a interview with Shorefront Journal, "and it was easy to get caught up in it if you were not careful. I was supposed to perform with James Brown and I missed it because of my habit... By that time, it was either give up the drugs or the singing, and I was not strong enough at that time to give up the drugs. I was strung out. I ended up in rehab. Four months later, I came home. My singing career was over."

In mid 2016 David Salas, owner of ARMS411.com, a boutique company who helps legacy artists claim their royalties, arranged a few high profile shows with Alan Beck of Pacific Concert Group. Patti is poised to take the stage in Fresno at the Selland Arena on Feb. 9th, Honda Center on Feb. 10th and Talking Sticks Events Center in Phoenix AZ on Feb. 17th. This will be her first performance in more than 40 years.

Pavement Entertainment Announces Hard Rock Heavy Hitters Flaw To Head Out On U.S. Headline Tour

Hard rock heavy hitters Flaw will embark on a second national U.S. headline tour with support from Metalcore stalwarts Righteous Vendetta and progressive metal pioneers Source. The tour begins February 16 as they continue to promote their recent release Divided We Fall (Pavement Entertainment).

As the band's first album in 13 years, Flaw has been touring relentlessly since the release of its third studio album Divided We Fall. In fact, according to lead vocalist Chris Volz, the tension felt between the band members themselves and the ups and downs they suffered between albums was reflected in their new songs. This raw emotion and powerful energy immediately resonated with fans and ultimately propelled them into their deal with Pavement Entertainment and the release of Divided We Fall.

"We would not be where we are today without our hardcore fans," said Volz. "The Flaw Family is the backbone of everything we do, and we cannot wait to get out and tour in support of this new record".

Support act Source, also a Pavement Entertainment artist, recently released their album Return To Nothing to overwhelmingly positive reviews. A progressive metal band, Source combines a unique blend of Progressive Rock/Metal with intricate melodies and ferocious riffs that are distinctly their own. The band is coming off of a highly successful and large attended tour with Hell Yeah and In Flames.

The Flaw, Righteous Vendetta, and Source tour kicks off February 16 in Salt Lake City, UT and ends in Omaha, NE on March 21.

Two Popular Dallas Bands Become One

Members of two popular Dallas bands have come together, according to singer Leah Lane. Lane, previously of the popular psych band Moon Waves has joined with Sway. The result is Rosegarden Funeral Party to be fronted by singer Lane and guitarist/composer Austin Camp.

According to Lane RFP's music "is inspired by everything from 60s psychedilia to 80s gothic/new wave music, to 90s shoegaze and on to modern alternative bands of the psych scene."

Leah Lane, at age 19 already a seasoned musician, has been actively gigging in the Deep Ellum area and nationally for three years with Moon Waves. A vocalist first, Lane eventually expanded to keyboards and guitar, "but I’ll be focusing on vocals with RFP at first". Lane is also a versatile writer inspired by many types of music.

Austin Camp started with Art for Motels and went on to join another Dallas act, The Orange. In both groups, Camp added unique textures and ingenious parts that gave each band a unique and interesting sound.

They are joined by Wil Farrier on bass who previously fronted his own band, Black Vega and carries a degree in guitar studies from Booker T Washington HSPVA. On Synth is Nate Litz, the drummer for Dallas indie band Field Guide. Nate and Camp have worked together for many years. Tate Christopher, a versatile drummer from Vegan Shark takes on the drums for RFP.

Rosegarden Funeral Party will make its debut on Friday, Feb. 24 at Dallas’ Sundown At Granada, 9pm.

Innovative Music Transcription Company Launches New Service

Tunescribers.com (www.tunescribers.com) has just launched its new service, promising to transform how people get custom-made musical scores. The company is founded by Jeff Pepper, the founder and past CEO of two of the Pittsburgh region's most successful tech companies.

Despite advances in computer software, creating high quality transcription of recorded music is still a labor intensive process, requiring highly skilled musicians to listen to a song and convert it note-by-note to written musical scores. The website automatically retrieves the song from YouTube and allows the customer to move sliders that specify the starting and ending point for the transcription (for example, "start at 0:40 and end at 3:00"). The website then calculates the price, and the customer chooses various options and places the order. The company then assigns the job to one of Tunescribers' global team of transcription experts. Within a few days, the customer receives complete sheet music in PDF format, as well as an MP3 file and an editable MusicXML file.

The site also can transcribe music from an MP3 file in case the song is not available on YouTube.

Because of the company's automated order entry and global team, Tunescribers is able to provide high quality custom sheet music for less than half the price of other music transcription services.

Indie LGBT Artist Craymo Wins 2nd Worldwide Music Contest In A Row

Indie LGBT singer/songwriter Craymo is named Winner Best Video in version 4 of the Worldwide Music Contest out of 600 entries for his music video One Love One World (We Are One). This is Craymo's 2nd consecutive win in the Worldwide Music Contest, he won Best Song in version 3 for his anti-bullying anthem Be Myself, a song about embracing your individuality and standing up to bullies.

One Love One World is another anti-bullying song that promotes equality, diversity, universal love, human rights and world peace. The music video opens on children in Pang Liu village in China who were taught how to speak English by learning the lyrics to his song. Craymo says: "I was so moved emotionally when I saw the footage of the children speaking and singing in English for the first time using my song. It's a very humbling and proud moment knowing that you have made a difference in someone's life on the other side of the world."

One Love One World has been downloaded by many school teachers who taught the song to their students who then performed it at their schools in China, Australia, the UK, Canada and all across the USA. One Love One World (We Are One) was featured on the syndicated Bongo Boys Rock and Roll TV show.
