St.Louis, MO Based Hip Hop Artist, Vert is set to release his debut full length mixtape "The Prerequisite" on February 20th, 2013. The mixtape includes production by 808 Mafia, SkySense, Metro, Marvelous J and Doughboy. It will also be hosted by DJ Holiday of 94.5 Atlanta. "Addicted" will be the first track to be promoted to radio and will also be featured on upcoming Indie Anthems Compilation by WiFi PR Group. The Indie Anthems Compilation is an on-going series that will feature some of the best up and coming unsigned and independent artists worldwide.
Dateline: Los Angeles, California, Feb. 19th, 2013 - St. Louis Hip Hop Artist, Vert is set to release his debut mixtape, "The Prerequisite" on February 20th, 2013. Atlanta-based DJ Holiday of Streetz 94.5 Atlanta will host Vert's debut project as Holiday's first public mixtape backing of the year.The mixtape also features production from some of hip hop's top producers including Metro, Marvelous J, SykSense, Doughboy and Bebop of 808 Mafia.
The track "Addicted" will be also be featured on the upcoming Compilation, "Indie Anthems". The compilation, which is produced by the WiFiPR Group to showcase new artists they have recently signed to their client roster, will come out as digital release only and be distributed at upcoming music industry events including SXSW in Austin, TX in March.
Vert, a solo artist born as T.J. Millis, has been gaining momentum as an upcoming Rap Artist with a unique skillset and ear for music quality. Vert attracted the attention of hip-hop producers talents on several tracks on his up upcoming mixtape including, "Addicted" being produced by SkySense, "ReQuiem" and "Zip 'Em Up" both produced by BeBop of 808, "On U" produced by Metro and "Wildin" being a collaborative effort of producers Metro and Doughboy.

Vert and his production team have high hopes that when the mixtape hits the datpiff.com community, and that it will continue to increase awareness about his talents and quickly draw the attention of music industry as a whole. Vert explains his outlook on giving away music for free and the value of it, "selling music is somewhat outdated, so shows are the best source of revenue and exposure is the best way to do this"
His current attention and goals besides releasing his upcoming mixtape are "Exposure, exposure, exposure! Initial exposure is my main focus since this is my first project. Receiving the stamp of approval from DJ Holiday will definitely help with my first goal. The main focus is to really get the name and work out there on as large a scale as possible," he explained.
Vert describes his style of music as mix of 'Lil Wayne and Jeezy. His lyrical style reflects Lil Wayne's free style approach and his beats are similar to Jeezy's bass driven hard thumping signature beats. When asked about what has influenced his music he stated that most of his best song writing has been influenced by everyday life. "Really, my songs are inspired by everyday life. Mostly everyone can relate to going out, partying, and having a good time, and that's mainly what my music, at least at this point, talks about," explains Vert.
Musically Vert explained that he hasn't heard any major comparisons to his style of music but goes on to explain, I have heard that my music sounds like lyricism over trap-inspired beats, as I make sure that all my tracks have as much bass as possible.
Vert plans to continue recording music as a solo artist and growing his buzz into national markets. He has spoken of currently working on his next project "Vert Lymon" in the meantime in both Missouri and Atlanta which he says will certainly be a "banger".
His music will be available in Austin at the upcoming SXSW Music Festival where he will be featured on a Compilation that will be passed to music industry veterans and media contacts exclusively.
