12 The Band Invited To Showcase At Canadian Music Fest '09

Trinidad-based 12 The Band have been officially invited to perform for Canadian Music Week, considered to be one of the premier entertainment events in North America focusing on the business of music. Held in Toronto from March 11th to 14th, the band and their representative, Eric de Fontenay with MusicDish, will be available to meet with the over 3,000 industry movers and shakers that attend the event annually.

12 The Band completed their debut album "Streets and Avenues," which they performed live at the prestigious Caribbean Fashion Week in Jamaica, followed by a showcase at the 2008 London Calling Music Conference in London. They have toured Britain playing in some of the prominent night clubs on the Central London music scene like The Sin Club, The Bar Fly, Momo's Cargo and Canvas and has performed live on the BBC Radio Show "Outlook." 12 has also played at the Birmingham Carnival, Nottinghill Carnival and the Yaashantewaa Calypso Tent which is the first and only calypso tent in London. 12 has performed in the Alliance Francaise Fete de La Musique opening for international recording artists such as Chris Combette and Orange Sky.

12 The Band fuses Alternative Rock with indigenous Caribbean influences such Calypso and Reggae, as well as other popular forms such as Soul and Jazz... a unique sound they affectionately call Earth Force Music.
