Independent Recording Artist Marina V Tours U.S. In Her Prius (and Gets Sponsorship From Toyota)

Moscow-born award-winning recording artist Marina V is embarking on a 7-week coast-to-coast U.S. Summer Tour (called The C Minor To Shining Sea Tour) in her Toyota Prius.

The Los Angeles-based singer and her husband/co-writer and guitarist, Nick Baker, have mapped out, booked and organized the national tour entirely on their own.

They enlisted help from fans, many of whom are financing and hosting several of the shows.

Bulletproof Snow Makes CD Release Celebration A "Hometown Event"

Trey McLaughlin Music (TMM) announced today that the lineup for Bulletproof Snow's (BPS) Sophomore CD release celebration on June 28th at 59 West, Highland, MI will definitely include other local area teen music artists.

Bulletproof Snow, one of Metro Detroit's fastest rising rock artists will headline the event and be joined by other Livingston County area teen artists. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with music beginning around 8:00 for an evening of acoustic/alternative/modern rock. This is an ALL AGES event with tickets available at the door for just $5. The show is presented by Trey McLaughlin Music and The Inner Light Agency (iLA).

Sharing the bill with other Livingston area teen artists, BPS is looking forward to an event with a real sort of "hometown" feel. The celebration is intended to draw attention to BPS' new music and aims to highlight the talents of other Hartland/Brighton area teens.

Brian McLaughlin who manages BPS said, "This is not just a chance to celebrate our EP release with a few hundred close friends, but it is also an opportunity for us to say thank you to BPS supporters, including several local and Metro Detroit area businesses. We could host the event at any one of several well-known live music venues around Detroit, but we chose 59 West for its close proximity to our hometowns and its laid back atmosphere. We feel like this is the best all-around location for fans of all ages to really have a great time. It just has that sort of comfortable feel to it."

The FiiX Debut CD Release

The FiiX is a young Pop, Rock, EDM, Hip/Hop group from Orange County, CA. The FiiX will release their Debut LP, If The Walls Could Speak, on June 24 followed by a CD release party at The Vault in Orange (June 28). Intimate Sunrise Concert Welcomes the Dawning of Summer in the World's Largest Gothic Cathedral

June 9, 2014 - NEW YORK – The 19th Annual Summer Solstice Celebration by the Paul Winter Consort with special guests trombonist Chris Brubeck (The Brubeck Brothers Quartet/Triple Play), multi-instrumentalist Paul McCandless (Oregon/Pat Metheny) and world-renowned pipe organist Timothy Brumfield will once again welcome the summer on June 21st in the world's largest Gothic cathedral, St. John the Divine located at Amsterdam Avenue at 112th Street. Winter and colleagues will premiere a new work, "Morning of the Phoenix," inspired by the two spectacular 100-foot long bird sculptures, entitled Phoenix, by renowned Chinese artist Xu Bing that were recently installed in nave of the Cathedral. Beginning in complete darkness at 4:30 AM, musicians play for two hours as the sun gradually illuminates the Cathedral's stained-glass windows.
Immediately following the concert, the entire audience is invited to a tea and coffee reception in the Crossing of the Cathedral, during which members of the audience can meet each other along with the musicians.

"This may well be our most revolutionary event yet in the Cathedral," says seven-time Grammy-winning soprano saxophonist Winter, "given the unique spatial placement of the players, the visual dimension that will emerge, and the nature of our performing 'partners.' For we and the audience members alike will be 'consorting' with these two gigantic birds suspended above us."

The Paul Winter Consort first performed Summer Solstice in 1994 as a counterpoint to its popular Winter Solstice concert series, which attracts 10,000 audience members and is broadcast on 300 National Public Radio stations.

The Cathedral has recently mounted what perhaps is the most colossal exhibit of an artistic work that New York has ever seen. Over the course of two years, pioneering Chinese contemporary artist Xu Bing culled detritus from construction sites across the rapidly changing urban landscape of Beijing, and transformed it into his most monumental project to date: Phoenix (2008-10). An engineering feat, Phoenix is composed of a male and a female bird whose combined weight exceeds 12 tons.
