New Rhythm Del Mundo's EP Reworks When Doves Cry

Artists Project Earth (APE), the charity that campaigns for ocean plastics and climate change awareness is releasing a new EP as a tribute to Prince, covering his worldwide hit, When Doves Cry. The four-track EP featuring APE's Afro-Cuban collective, Rhythms Del Mundo, is available to download from Friday 21st April and features a talented young musician, 16-year-old Jazz Flowers.

American songwriter and producer, and APE founder, Kenny Young produced the EP, the profits of which will go towards APE's Plastic Oceans Campaign and in addition, to Green 4 All; the charity that Prince had secretly contributed to the funding of. "As great admirers of Prince's work we decided to record one of his most famous songs and thought that it would be a fitting tribute to have his favourite environmental charity also benefit from the sales," commented Kenny.

Recorded at Lazy Moon Studios in Oxfordshire, UK, the four-track EP includes three versions of When Doves Cry: a Cuban mix (mixed by Mike McGreal and Kenny Young); a modern African mix (mixed by Mike McGreal and Kenny Young); and a trance EDM mix by ManMadeMan. The fourth track is a new song titled ‘Ocean' which is an Afro Cuba mix, synonymous with the sounds of Rhythms Del Mundo. All the RDM tracks feature Jazz Flowers, an up-and-coming singer from Woodstock, Oxfordshire.

"As a charity we strongly believe in creating a better world through the use of music and arts. So far we have released six albums with our Afro Cuban collective, Rhythms Del Mundo, who have donated all profits to climate change adaptation and mitigation and ocean conservation projects worldwide. Our seventh album, 'Plastic Oceans', is due for release in the summer and features, Ed Sheeran, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Beyonce, Mumford & Sons among others'" concluded Kenny.

Rhythms Del Mundo is a globally-acclaimed Afro-Cuban collective of musicians who have collaborated with some of the biggest names in music across the world, including Coldplay, Amy Winehouse, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Green Day, The Rolling Stones and many others. Rhythms Del Mundo have released 6 albums selling over 2 million units and many millions of downloads. The sales from the albums have enabled APE to support over 370 climate change and ocean related projects around the world.
