"This session was one of the most challenging of my career" states Atlas Cage, guitarist/ songwriter for the psychedelic urban punk band as they put together their 6th studio release. "Up until now, all of my musical ability had been self taught, so I had never used scales or vocal techniques such as singing to the melody on keyboard using sounds rather than words."
Having recently graced the cover of Mix Magazine,Sonic Ranch's engineer/ producer Charles Godfrey (Devil Driver, Sublime) was brought aboard by the band to bring out the sound they were looking for. "The songs came out great" Godfrey states. "There is a high energy that feels like a mix of Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains, and White Zombie. Everything you need to have a great listening experience is there."
Dedication has always been in the forefront for Cage and former Archetyped bassist Edward C, putting all of their efforts into the upcoming E.P. Godfrey quickly took notice of this at the beginning stages of their recording sessions. "Either you're in it for all the long hours or you're not. It's not easy to be in this industry with current demands, it takes a lot of drive AND sacrifice."
Strings of Atlas has opened for such artists as Nick McGalis and Guitar Slim, and have also had their music featured in three short films and a soundtrack for the movie "The Edison Bomb." "Cage is also known as a stunt man and has been invited yearly to the G4TV show "Ninja Warrior" (now known as American Ninja Warrior). Strings of Atlas has been featured on many internet and interactive radio outlets such as iHeart Radio, Spotify and LastFM among other national radio outlets.
