L'illon Releases CD, Warrior Angel Instrumental: Love Frequency, To Promote Feel Good Music

Music artist L'illon has just released her newly transposed CD now retitled, Warrior Angel Instrumental: LOVE FREQUENCY, showcasing her signature Lucid Pop sound in an instrumental 528 Hertz frequency.

The uniqueness of this album not only lies in L'illon's ability for composition of feel good music but also highlights the frequency at which this album is set, namely the solfeggio and Fibonacci number 528 - dubbed the Love Frequency.

The Love frequency is the "Miracle" note of the original Solfeggio musical scale. Research has shown that this core frequency was used in the past by high- priests and healers in ancient civilizations to manifest change and produce abundance.

According to Dr. Leonard Horowitz, a Harvard grad and award winning author, "the 528 Hz is a frequency that is central to the musical mathematical matrix of creation. More than any sound previously discovered, the "LOVE frequency" resonates at the heart of everything. Furthermore, this frequency is reported on having a healing effect on one's damaged DNA". Accordingly, biochemist Steve Chemiski mentions, that the 6-sided clear clusters that support the DNA double helix vibrate at a specific resonant frequency - 528 cycles per second.

Now taking science into account, L'illon's album not only produces a great modern vibe but also has a positive and healing effect on the full spectrum; the mind, spirit and body.

In listening to L'illon's LOVE FREQUENCY album, one can be renewed, reenergized and rejuvenated by her music while driving in a car, relaxing at a spa, flying on an airplane or exercising at a health club. All venues around the globe, from yoga studios to cinemas can now enjoy L'illon's 528 Hz music.

L'illon's LOVE FREQUENCY album will be available exclusively online in 240 countries worldwide, 21 online stores and via http://www.lillonlucidpop.com/warrior-angel-instrumental-love-frequency/

Aminita Satori Releases "Where Language Fails" As Intellectual Stoners Rejoice

Aminita Satori is an eclectic, driven, and charismatic artist with a truly unique background. Originally from Chicago, Aminita enjoyed a successful career producing soundtracks on major TV ad campaigns for companies like McDonald's, Budweiser, and Verizon.

However, this wasn't it. This wasn't art. After a decade in the advertising world, Aminita grew disillusioned with the business and walked away for good. Succumbing to a five year writer's block, Satori's interest in music was rekindled in early 2011 upon discovering the lecture archives of late psychedelic philosopher and author, Terence McKenna.

Aminita Satori's latest studio effort, "Where Language Fails" is an ambitious collection of 20 tracks that blur the lines between genre definitions and ideas. Elements of psychedelia, chillwave, electronica, and hip hop can be heard throughout the album. Also recognizable, are influences from forward-thinking artists such as Bonobo, Flying Lotus, Toro Y Moi, and Thievery Corporation.

SleepingBagStudios.ca states, "Aminita Satori has a real gift for the blending of ideas through incredible switches that feel audibly natural, warm and inviting…the hooks run constantly and deep on Where Language Fails proving ultimately that music can express what's inside of us better than words ever will." Jamsphere.com writes, "…there seems to be hallucinatory imagery ingrained into the shifting soundscapes in the album, teasing the listener as it unfurls, leading one into a psychedelic frenzy or calm, as any strange narcotic could."

Southwest Psych Rockers Strings Of Atlas To Release 5 Song E.P. Co-Produced By Charles Godfrey "In A Better World" Is Scheduled For Release May 15th 2015

"This session was one of the most challenging of my career" states Atlas Cage, guitarist/ songwriter for the psychedelic urban punk band as they put together their 6th studio release. "Up until now, all of my musical ability had been self taught, so I had never used scales or vocal techniques such as singing to the melody on keyboard using sounds rather than words."

Having recently graced the cover of Mix Magazine,Sonic Ranch's engineer/ producer Charles Godfrey (Devil Driver, Sublime) was brought aboard by the band to bring out the sound they were looking for. "The songs came out great" Godfrey states. "There is a high energy that feels like a mix of Queens of the Stone Age, Alice in Chains, and White Zombie. Everything you need to have a great listening experience is there."

Dedication has always been in the forefront for Cage and former Archetyped bassist Edward C, putting all of their efforts into the upcoming E.P. Godfrey quickly took notice of this at the beginning stages of their recording sessions. "Either you're in it for all the long hours or you're not. It's not easy to be in this industry with current demands, it takes a lot of drive AND sacrifice."

Strings of Atlas has opened for such artists as Nick McGalis and Guitar Slim, and have also had their music featured in three short films and a soundtrack for the movie "The Edison Bomb." "Cage is also known as a stunt man and has been invited yearly to the G4TV show "Ninja Warrior" (now known as American Ninja Warrior). Strings of Atlas has been featured on many internet and interactive radio outlets such as iHeart Radio, Spotify and LastFM among other national radio outlets.

CD Release: Monty Alexander 'Uplift 2' JLP

JAZZ LEGACY PRODUCTIONS CD RELEASE: UPLIFT 2 Monty Alexander

Jamaica is known for the undulating sounds of reggae, but it also contributed mightily to the jazz continuum. Dizzy Reese, Ernest Ranglin, and Harry Beckett are from Jamaica, but perhaps the island's best-known jazz export is Monty Alexander, a pianist that's been enthralling jazz fans for decades. Alexander's 2011 album Uplift topped the JazzWeek chart twice that year—and when JazzWeek charted the most-played CDs of the year, Uplift was #5. Between that CD and Harlem-Kingston Express Live, Alexander has officially dominated the US Radio Charts with three # 1 spots, all in the summer of 2011. Harlem-Kingston Express (Motema, also 2011) was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Reggae Album category.

Born in Kingston 1944, the young Alexander took to the 88s as something of a prodigy. One night at age five he had observed a pianist play "White Christmas" in his home at a Christmas party. His mother recalls seeing young Monty playing that same tune with both hands the very next night. At age eight he took classical piano lessons but he'd already began loving the American jazz and Great American songbook pop (Tony Bennett, Nat "King" Cole) he heard on the radio. As a teenager, seeing Nat "King" Cole and Louis Armstrong perform had a major impact upon him. He'd also become interested in Jamaican music—Alexander would play with Clue J & His Blues Blasters, substituting for their regular pianist Aubrey Adams when he became unavailable. While few could conceive of it at the time, this band would prove to be a major watershed in Jamaican music history, incubating the talents of not only Alexander but Ernest Ranglin, Rico Rodriguez, and Roland Alphonso, all who'd go on to become prime movers in Jamaican ska, rocksteady, and reggae. By the end of 1961, Alexander's family relocated to that land of opportunity, the USA, where he further honed his skills. While playing with Art Mooney's orchestra in Las Vegas, he was spotted by a couple of high rollers, namely Frank Sinatra and Ermenigildo "Jilly" Rizzo, singer/show business legend and Sinatra's pal/aide and New York City club owner, respectively. Rizzo hired Alexander to be the house pianist for Jilly's Saloon, a notorious hang-out for show biz types, jazz musicians, and assorted other hip clientele. Not only did he accompany Sinatra when he performed at Jilly's, but Alexander met a jazz legend there that became both a friend and employer, vibes master Milt Jackson (of the Modern Jazz Quartet, who had a parallel solo career). Other singers Alexander has shone behind include Mary Stallings, Ernestine Anderson, Natalie Cole (who asked Alexander to accompany her on her tribute album to her father Unforgettable), Tony Bennett, and Bobby McFerrin. Furthermore, he played with ace of the bass Ray Brown and trumpet titans Dizzy Gillespie and Clark Terry. From the 1970s on, Alexander took the jazz world by storm with a series of internationally well-received albums on the European MPS and American Concord and Telarc labels.

Monty Alexander's distinctive sound emanates from two sources—firstly, he's infused the inspiration of iconic pianists Oscar Peterson, Nat "King" Cole, Ahmad Jamal, and Errol Garner with Jamaican sounds past and present. Secondly, and perhaps most crucially, Alexander indubitably loves what he is doing and he communicates that to listeners in an engaging, infectious manner. Talk about having one's cake and eating it too—Alexander has mastered that concept for the best of both worlds. "I play for me but I also play for the audience…I am even more satisfied when I make people happy." Alexander has no truck with elitist "artistic" notions—while he doesn't pander to listeners, he doesn't place himself "above" them either. "Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong—these artists reached out to the audience." Alexander's latest for Jazz Legacy Productions, Uplift 2—a sequel of sorts to 2011's Uplift—virtually epitomizes his philosophy and approach to jazz gloriously. Reunited with bassist John Clayton and drummer Jeff Hamilton—with whom he made some of his very best trio recordings in the mid-1970s—Uplift 2 bursts out of the gate with two tunes that, in lesser hands, might come off as corny or clichéd—"Battle Hymn (of the Republic)" and "When the Saints Go Marching In." But to Alexander, this "familiarity" presents an opportunity he relishes. "I like to take old wine and put it into new bottles," he says. "It's not so much the song, but what you do with it." Alexander's trio takes these warhorses and renders them with impishly affectionate humor, invention, and gregarious swing. Clayton and Hamilton are the thunder and wind to Alexander's summertime cloudburst. When asked about the chemistry of this configuration of musicians from long ago—every so often we'd get together"—Alexander affirmed, "We just clicked from the get-go."

Which is not to sleight Alexander's "other" trio on this set, Hassan Shakur on bass and Frits Landesbergen on drums. After a tantalizingly angular intro, this Alexander trio swings the standard "St. Thomas" like it was both the first time and maybe the last time they'd have at it—it's jovial and assertive, breezy and volatile. Ahmad Jamal's "Night Mist Blues" is a panorama—deep noir mood, rippling piano (echoes of McCoy Tyner?), richly pensive blues feeling, Dave Brubeck-like urbanity, restless but almost celebratory reminiscence, and Shakur and Landesbergen support and stimulate like nobody's business.

"At the end of the day," Alexander says, "it's about touching somebody's heart." Uplift 2 succeeds in that spectacularly, while it also takes up residence in the mind (including that region that controls the tapping of your foot). Without fanfare or pretense, Monty Alexander continues to celebrate the aspects of directness and delight in jazz. "It's a joy and a privilege to come out of the gate and get to the point!," says Alexander. Need proof? Listen, learn, and love.

Jazz Trombonist/Arranger Earl McIntyre Releases New CD, Brass Carnival & Tribute! Via Live Premiere Concert

Award winning Jazz Trombonist/ Arranger Earl McIntyre is known for his rich tones, incredible brass arrangements and diverse repertoire making him a “go to” for performances and arrangements ranging from classical to jazz. His new release, Brass Carnival & Tribute!, showcases many of those attributes and more in this groove eclectic set.

Born in Brooklyn N.Y. Earl received his very first musical training from his father, Eldon McIntyre, Sr. (a very gifted amateur musician). His father was passionate about music and saw to it that Earl and his brothers became proficient at playing brass instruments thus starting Earl’s journey into music. While attending the High School of Music & Art, he studied trombone with trombone greats such as John Clark, Jack Jeffers, Alan Raph and Benny Powell. It was during this period that he also developed relationships with composer William S. Fischer and tubaist Howard Johnson. He then when on to study Bass Trombone at Mannes College of Music with Simone Karasick and tuba with Thompson Hanks. As Earl’s thirst for knowledge of music grew, he started studying music arrangement with Slide Hampton and Bob Brookmeyer, as well as, studied privately with the famous brass teacher Carmine Caruso.

Soon after his studies, McIntyre’s musical journey flourished as he began playing with the likes of Gil Evans, the Apollo stage band, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, Lester Bowie, The Band, Stevie Wonder, McCoy Tyner, Carla Bley, George Russell, Lou Rawls, Jeffrey Osborne, Deniece Williams, the Count Basie Orchestra, the Ellington Orchestra, the Thad Jones -Mel Lewis Orchestra (with whom he was associated for over 20 years) Slide Hampton, George Gruntz, the Mingus Big Band, Cecil Taylor, David Amram and the list goes on.

While credited for Trombone, Tuba and Arranger on countless award winning albums, Brass Carnival & Tribute!, will be Earl McIntyre’s very first offering of his own. When asked about his influences he responded “They say as an artist you spend your career trying to get back to your roots and I guess that's true in my case. The Tribute! band allows me to honor great musicians and family members in my own way. By dedicating and/or naming compositions after these people I hope to ignite the occasional spark of interest in them. Perhaps it's the influence of another hero/employer as well. Charles Mingus did this often and so did Thelonious Monk. The other ensemble, Brass Carnival does the same sort of thing with musical genres but as a larger ensemble.” says McIntyre.

Brass Carnival has instrumentation similar to a Salvation Army brass band coupled with Latin percussion. The influence of various kinds of vibrant carnival music colorfully painted on a Jazz canvas. Tribute! is a smaller group that pays tribute to Earl’s many influences such as Soca, R&B, Funk and various other grooves.

Brass Carnival & Tribute! will be available via MySpace, CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and more. Join Earl McIntyre on Saturday, March 9th, for his Brass Carnival & Tribute! Still Grindin Productions Releases "Superheroes" Feat Juan Rogelio, Big Boy Plat & The Real John May

"Superheroes" offers the first peek into the upcoming release The Futuristic World Suicide. Produced by D. Still and Thee Lost Symbol of Still Grindin' Productions, the song descends upon the metropolis with a triumphant fanfare, the type that conjures up images of caped crusaders looming large over crime-infested cities. The fanfare is cut short in favor of shiny synth riffs that sparkle and dance throughout the track. Juan Rogelio, Big Boi Plat, and The Real John May are a trio of lyricists that form a six-armed swagger beast full of boastful bars and cinematic scenarios. High-pitched chords ride a tambourine wave and a drum sequence that knocks for several city blocks, providing the perfect accompaniment for these emcees to examine their unusual abilities. It even spills over into where the vocal hook should go, so that there isn't a memorable chorus, but a comparison of superhero powers and seeing where orators fall on that list.

A pair of remixes offer alternate moods and both of them work well. The first remix features a dark bass line that wobbles and wiggles its way through static slaps and added percussion. Warm keys light the path for the other elements to follow. The Matrix Mix strips the production bare to low, menacing tones and metallic toms that reflect off the walls. Percolating electronic pulses gurgle underneath the surface and make tiny explosions, resulting in sonic splashes all over the beat. It's clear that Rogelio, Plat, and May have partnered themselves with stellar producers, which make their lyrics sound all the better. While they may not possess superpowers in the comic book sense, there's no denying their chemistry on the microphone. If you can imagine Batman driving through Gotham and digging the scene with a gangster lean the entire time, then you have juststumbled upon the vibe that "Superheroes" attempts to approach.

Old School And Modern Hip Hop Fusion From 7even's Hip Hop Album Release

7even was raised in Dallas, Texas. At a young age he was influenced by Hip Hop and started expressing himself through music. This passion for music was created from the pain the he endure as a child. It all led him to what he's become today with the help of artists' influences such as UGK, Scarface, Outcast, Tupac, Biggie, Public Enemy to Nas KRS to E-40 and Jay-Z. The bigger their influence the more he studied them. His belief is 'what doesn't kill you will make you stronger'.

7even, the artist began in 1993. He used to belong to a group called SAP. He used the word 007 which meant he was the James Bond of the ghetto. That name stuck and now everyone knows who 7even is.

7even is set to release his newest project titled "The Uprise of 7even". In this CD, 7even takes us on a journey from a humble beginning and tells the story of the rise to fame and fortune. Even though he shows the glamorous side, 7even never forgets his humble beginning keeping him grounded to his roots. He shows audiences his true self – no gimmicks – no fiction. "I think it's important to show the listeners your true self. As for me, I have always been a character and everyone that knows me knows that. I can turn any situation into a good one", states 7even.

The lead single off of this CD is titled "Hey Girl". This phrase is a comfortable way of getting the girl's attention without showing disrespect. The stage is set in Miami Beach. All of the women are walking with their sexy swagger while 7even sits in a lounge area having a drink. He watches and begins to really notice how good they look. He shouts out, "Hey, girl. You need to holla at me with your fine self". This song is a fun upbeat and sexy with a cool mix of singing and rapping. The rhythm is hot, vocals are outstanding. It's a great hip hop song. This is the way it's done. All the songs flow beautifully including the contents of the CD with "Hey Girl" being the first track.

7even is always looking to better himself. He looks at idols such as Michael Jackson to help him stay on track, stay focused and driven. He evolves both personally and professionally. He will take a song and make three variations of it for different audiences. He is also keeping up with new technology along with standing by the true and trusted ways. Tony Adamo Meets Tower Of Power Meets The Headhunters

By Scott Yanow
L.A Jazz Scene/ All Music Guide to Jazz/ The Jazz Singers

A new CD that has recently been recorded is being described as “Tony Adamo meets Tower of Power meets The Headhunters” set to be released in early 2012. This unique set teams together singer and spoken word artist Tony Adamo with drummer-producer Mike Clark, several members of the Headhunters and special guests. The drummer says of the project, “The three elements on the CD are rhythm and blues (we married some old ideas with some newer surprises), a heavy blues saturation and some straight ahead bebop. There is even some avant-garde music and a duet with drums and voice.”

In addition to Tony Adamo, the lineup of musicians include Rob Dixon on tenor, alto and keyboards, trumpeters Derrick Gardner and Pharez Whitted, guitarist-keyboardist Gary Mielke, organist Delbert Bump, guitarist Steve Homan, bassist Brett Palm, percussionist Bill Summers, Mike Clark on drums and co-founder of Tower of Power, Doc Kupka on bari sax.

The musical friendship of Adamo and Clark began about six years ago. Tony, whose warm deep voice is perfectly at home in a variety of settings whether it is soul or swing, is a creative improviser with an accessible yet unpredictable style. His style is friendly, personable, very musical, and open to spontaneity as can be heard on his two prior recordings, STAIGHT UP DEAL and WHAT IS HIP. Mike Clark says of Tony, “He sings with soul and also does spoken word along with the singing. He is not afraid to address issues that are pertinent to what is going on in the world. He will often have a sketch for a song and then, when we are in the studio, he spontaneously fills it in and improvises, sometimes taking the music in a completely different direction.”

Mike Clark is one of the most in-demand drummers on the scene today. Earlier in his career he played with vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson, trumpeter Woody Shaw and tenor-saxophonist Joe Henderson. After beginning an association with Herbie Hancock that resulted in him becoming the drummer with the Headhunters, he became well known as a funk drummer although he remains very active in jazz. Among his recent projects have been leading the straight ahead acoustic group Integral Blue which includes Randy Brecker, Donald Harrison and Christian McBride; touring with guitarist Scott Henderson and bassist Jeff Berlin in an electric band performing Wayne Shorter tunes; and recording with keyboardist Michael Wolff’s quartet. In addition he co-leads the Headhunters with Bill Summers. The Headhunters recent CD release is called PLATINUM.

Tony says “The music is in a different and new genre.” Mike Clark is also enthusiastic about the project which is the first time he produced a singer. “We were all really glad to play together and it translates. The music tips its hat towards the days in Oakland when Tower of Power reigned. It has elements of James Brown and some real modern funk. All the music was so swinging and so funky that it was very enjoyable for us and we are very glad to be putting out the music soon.” Tony Adamo’s new CD will be released in a few months and it promises to make a strong impact on the music world.

REVIEW: Cutting Edge Goes To College

One of the most original & creatively driven bands in the universe, Cutting Edge, ‘Goes Back To College’ to figure out this constant love-hate relationship we have with each other in this thing called life. What Cutting Edge has brought to the table on this new record are songs about anti-war, relationships, government control, equality of women, love & loss, temptations and can’t forget good times. Staying true to being extremely eclectic, Cutting Edge has put all of this material together to make up one BIG EXTRAVAGANZA of DIVERSITY! Cutting Edge believes in variety within their music and you will definitely get your fill of that on ‘Goes Back To College’.

Right from the cover art, I’m observing an image of your girl-next-door in a sexy school girl outfit holding a book called ‘Love and Romance By Cutting Edge’. This good-girl, bad-girl character is dressed as if it were the 50s maybe and on the back women hanging out together in their lingerie appear to be of that same era also. So right away, you’re getting the idea that this picture paints a portrait of a throwback to pure innocence vs. naughty sexuality. Cutting Edge has most certainly got your attention by stimulating your sense of sight but what will follow in the area of sound. Here is the love version of their hit song ?Love Police".

http://soundcloud.com/cutting-edge-1/08-love-police

Well, let me first tell you that there are 15 tracks but it wouldn’t be a Cutting Edge party without some club-friendly remixes. Ricky Ric is back with 4 blazing hot tracks: Dance Radio Mix for “21st Century Woman”, Officer Busty Mix & Radio Mix for the song “Love Police” and the first ever Latin Radio Mix for “Body Talk”. You’ll also experience a Guiseppe D. Mix for “Love Police” & “She’s Got A Brain” and a Chris “The Greek” Mix for the song “Every Time I Try”. These DJs are spinning out catchy dance beats that will make you bob your head and move your body. If you’re not getting’ your groove on then something’s wrong because Ricky Ric & company are bringin’ it & makin’ it happen!

The CD opens with a song titled “Venomous Love Affair” that has almost an exotic vibe that really moves with David Pesnell incorporating his unique chat-like vocals. “21st Century Woman” is for all the strong, independent women out there while “Puppet of the Beast” is telling the government to back off. “Puppet of the Beast” comes with a hard rock/heavy metal approach that includes that distinct Pesnell vocal delivery once again. Track four, “Losing You”, is an emotionally-sung ballad that is incredibly touching and really tugs at your heart strings. On the song “Every Time I Try (Live)”, you hear a great intro building up momentum for the listener as She’ Best delivers a soulful vocal performance that is combined with a solid rock beat. “She Wore Red” appears on this album and you can find out plenty more about this buzzworthy gem right here: http://skopemag.com/2011/10/10/cutting-edge-she-wore-red.

Track seven “Agony And Ecstasy” has a lot of cool mojo going on where you’ll just rock out all night long. “Love Police (Live)” is honestly one of my favorites on the CD because it’s just so damn funky and it also rocks. This live version gives off such an inviting & fun atmosphere where you’ll want to be a part of all the action & excitement yourself. The “Love Police” have arrived and they will arrest you if you are not livin’ it up and having the time of your life. Taking no prisoners along for the ride, it is safe to say that the Cutting Edge ship has landed!

I have to add that Jeff Carolus adds smokin’ hot solos and stellar guitar playing throughout the eight original tracks. I am highly impressed with Jeff’s skills on the guitar; enjoyable all the way through! The singing of She’ Best on “Losing You” & “Every Time I Try (Live)” and Ashley Skye on “21st Century Woman” really stood out to me. A series of three drummers really caught my attention as well: John Platero, Raymond Johnson and William Zimmerman. Zimmerman also plays the role of main songwriter along with the late Liza Pesnell. David Pesnell did an excellent job himself with his one-of-a-kind vocals while also producing the album alongside J. Fassler.

This group Cutting Edge is on pace to make major, BIG-time NOIZE in the music world so either get on board now or get lost in the dust! I would highly recommend this record to anyone out there and you can buy ‘Goes Back To College’ right here:

Ain’t no party like a Cutting Edge party ’cause a Cutting Edge party don’t stop! You heard it here folks so get ready because Cutting Edge is coming to town!

Legendary Saxophonist Releases Plunky & Oneness 2012 Collectors Box Set

Url: http://www.plunkyone.com
Sound: http://www.plunkyone.com/audio/PLUNKY-Drop.mp3

J. Plunky Branch offers music for old fans and new with an impressive 5-disc compilation, Plunky & Oneness 2012 Collectors' Box Set, a retrospective of the best of his last 20 years' 12 CD albums. Long known for his versatility, saxophonist-producer Plunky has exceeded the bounds of eclecticism in this extensive library of songs organized into genre-specific CD's: Urban Groove, Cool Jazz, Love Songs, P Phunk and Afro World, packaged into a box set.

This is a collection of songs by one of the most prolific and enduring groups of the last 40 years. The band originated in the early 1970's as Plunky & Oneness of Juju, an avant Afro-jazz ensemble, and they developed by constantly exploring a wide range additional genres of Black music including R&B, funk, smooth jazz, reggae, hip-hop and neo-soul. Plunky and the group has continued to record and tour extensively and recently had a new break-through when Plunky's song "Drop" received national radio airplay and became a dance club hit.

Plunky & Oneness 2012 Collectors' Box Set is a virtual music library of the best of Plunky's last 20 years' releases. The compilation includes more than 80 songs on five CD's plus a bonus disc that contains background information, pictures, travel journals and videos.

The original 12 albums recorded and released between 1988 and 2008 were each unique but similar in that they all contained multiple types of music, as Plunky consciously continued to demonstrate the "oneness" or common characteristics inherent in all Black popular music forms. The songs on the new 2012 compilation CD's are organized by genre, taking into account that listeners are likely to utilize music albums in accordance with their moods, activities and settings.

Whatever your mood, this collection offers music to enhance and uplift it. Disc 1 Urban Groove has saxy instrumentals for dancing or just grooving (and includes Plunky's smash hit "Drop"). Disc 2 Cool Jazz is smooth tracks for a mellow atmosphere. Disc 3 Love Songs' sensual music sets the mood for romance. Disc 4 P Phunk is all hard-core funk to move your mind and body. Disc 5 Afro World explores African rhythms and other world beats.

This is a massive compilation of music for Plunky fans and for collectors of original urban, saxy, cool, funky, love inducing, Afro-jazz and more. The five CD set, plus bonus disc will be packaged in a regular DVD case and have a list price of $39.99, with deep discounts offered for pre-release orders and downloads. National release date for the box set: November 3, 2009.

New CD From Brenda Janz - "You Carry Me"

Canadian born, Brenda Janz, recently released her first solo album "You Carry Me". As an immensely gifted singer and passionate communicator she has been an inspiration and blessing to many in concerts and various recordings over the years.

Her voice is not unfamiliar to a broad audience, and is most notably recognized by her duet with Brian Doerksen in the song "The River" from the CD & DVD "Today" (Integrity), as well as many others.

Produced by Philip Janz (Brian Doerksen, Kathryn Scott, Andy Park), these 12 mostly self-penned compositions are sure to bring comfort and encouragement in the midst of everyday "life" challenges with songs like "Mama’s Prayer", "I need You to hold me" and "He carries all my sorrow". http://philipjanz.com/brendajanz.com/web_audio/Mama's_Prayer.mp3

In Brenda’s own words:

"This CD was ultimately born from accounts that have shaped my life, right from the early years. The title of this project gives testimony to that equation: ‘You Carry me’."

What others are saying:

"For almost 20 years, Brenda has moved me as a singer and worshipper . . . but to finally hear a whole CD with her is an amazing treasure! She sings her story with passion and moved me to tears with her powerful voice and words of truth. Like good wine served at just the right time, ‘You carry me’ will delight all who listen!" Brian Doerksen: Songwriter, Recording Artist www.briandoerksen.com

"Captivating vocals. Inspiring lyrics. I wake up in the night with these majestic songs playing through my mind. And I smile." Phil Callaway: Author and Speaker www.philcallaway.ab.ca

"Brenda Janz has the kind of voice that makes you say ‘I wish I could sing like that.’ A wife, a mom, and a veteran worship leader who brings all that to her latest musical offering, Brenda delivers honest, unpretentious songs from a tested and faithful heart." Paul Baloche: Songwriter, Recording Artist www.baloche.com

"Brenda has one of the most intensely beautiful voices I've ever heard. She sings with a passion for both Jesus, and the broken, in a way that will touch your heart in profound ways. Her writing is personal, yet inclusive. Her delivery is powerful, yet intimate. 'You carry me' is a beautiful album - an album you'll come back to time and again." Kathryn Scott: Songwriter, Recording Artist www.myspace.com/kathrynscottmusic

----------------------

A note from Brenda:

"This CD was ultimately born from accounts that have shaped my life, right from the early years. The title of this project gives testimony to that equation: "You Carry me".

To be honest, I’ve never really had big dreams to record my own album. But what I have always found myself doing, without really giving it much thought, is singing!

Song has always been the most natural way of expressing my feelings to God. So it made sense for me to sing about grief, joy, gratitude & relationships; singing through every season of life, whether happy or sad.

Over the years, I’ve written about many "life" experiences that I’ve encountered and consequently walked through, with God. It hasn’t always felt that way; there were many times where I certainly was "doing my own thing". God is with me, still.

So the album is simply a collection of prayers, reflections, and worship.

I sincerely hope you, the listener, will be encouraged to draw from the Father’s presence, through these "life" songs. He is near, very near; no matter what circumstances may bring." - Brenda Janz http://www.brendajanz.com/Album.html

Our Time's 6/23 'listen' CD Features Carly Simon, Daryl Hall, More

Giving Voice to a Group of Children Often Ridiculed or Silenced By Stuttering

Carly Simon, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Duncan Sheik, John Forte and Others From the Worlds of Pop, Rock, Broadway, Hip-Hop and R&B to Appear on a Remarkable CD, 'LISTEN'

Songs Written By Children Who Stutter Bring Artists Together in a Calling for Compassion

June 23rd Album to Benefit 'Our Time' Organization

Featured on NBC NIGHTLY NEWS with BRIAN WILLIAMS

On June 23rd, a remarkable album, eight years in the making, will be released. 'LISTEN' is a collection of 15 original songs, written by children who stutter, and recorded by iconic artists including Carly Simon, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Duncan Sheik, John Forte, Mandy Patinkin and many others. In addition, Jon Bon Jovi donated the use of his studio, so that his state-of-the-art facility could support the recording process. Superstars from the worlds of pop, rock, R&B, Broadway, hip-hop and more joined together to contribute their time and talents to a cause bigger than stuttering – a call for compassion and acceptance, and for respect of one-another's differences.

In a world where everything -- from news to conversations to decision-making -- happens so fast that we can hardly catch our breath, 'LISTEN' implores us to stop and do just that. Children who stutter are often ridiculed or ignored for not being able to express themselves quickly enough. They've finally been given a safe haven via 'Our Time'.

Our Time is a non-profit organization centered on a one-of-a-kind Arts program that provides children who stutter with an environment of unconditional acceptance…a creative forum, where they can express themselves through art, music, writing and theater, slowly and without risk of being shamed. Founded by Taro Alexander (who has stuttered since he was five years old,) and fueled by the incomparable energy of Musical Director Everett Bradley, Our Time Theatre Company is a free resource for these children and their families. There is no place quite like Our Time.

Their 'LISTEN' album will be released on Sh-K-Boom Records, and proceeds will benefit Our Time. Featuring songs written by Our Time Kids aged 8-18 under the stewardship of Everett Bradley and Associate Musical Director Carl Danielsen, 'LISTEN' is inspiring proof that these children simply need a few good people in their lives, and they can flourish. It's also evidence that kids who stutter are eloquent, brilliant, creative young minds, if they're given a chance to articulate themselves at their own pace. On June 23rd, this CD will give voice to a group of kids who usually don't get listened to.

The album includes 'Magical Place,' a stunning reverie written by Our Time's pre-teens, aged 8-12, and sung by Our Time kid Julianna Padilla. The lyrics say everything you need to know about the shame these children feel, and the newfound hope they get from being a part of Taro Alexander's organization: "There is a magical place called Our Time, when you step right in, you will be loved. There's freedom here in this place…no one makes fun of you. You will be loved."

From the anthemic 'You Don't Know Hurt', performed by Carly Simon, to the soulful 'Nothing In This World', sung by Daryl Hall and John Oates…from John Forte's rap on 'Perfect Place' to Duncan Sheik's pop groove (featuring Holly Brook) on 'All I Want Is Love', to Mandy Patinkin's 'Breathe In', the album delivers an astonishingly polished and diverse array of songs and styles, performed by artists who care. Though these are not 'kids' songs', the fact that the tracks were written by young children makes the achievement of 'LISTEN' all the more impressive. Check out a five-song sampler here: http://www.sethcohenpr.com/player/listen/

Other artists who recorded for 'LISTEN' include Blue Man Group, Ann Hampton Callaway, Michael Cerveris, Amanda Kravat, Adriane Lenox, Norm Lewis, Kelli O'Hara, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Nicki Richards, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Sherie Rene Scott, Stomp, Mary Testa, Michelle Weeks, Lucy Woodward, Cast Members from Spring Awakening, and the youth of Our Time. Our Time's Taro Alexander and Everett Bradley provide vocals as well.

Here is USA TODAY's Exclusive preview from the cover of today's LIFE section:

More about Our Time's Founder and Director Taro Alexander:
Taro Alexander is an accomplished performer, teacher, and director who has stuttered since the age of five. His artistic impulses were encouraged by his parents at an early age and his interest in contributing to social change was influenced greatly by the work of his father, the late Bobby Alexander, who founded the legendary Living Stage Theatre Company in Washington, DC. Taro graduated from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and went on to be cast in his first professional role at the age of nineteen in the National Tour of Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers. After years of building a successful performing career, including four years in the cast of the Off-Broadway smash STOMP and appearances on NBC's Law & Order, Taro decided that it was time to realize his lifelong dream of utilizing art to transform the lives of people who stutter. He founded Our Time in the Fall of 2001. Mr. Alexander has been widely recognized for his work with people who stutter and has led workshops, master classes, and performances around the world from Dublin to Montreal to Glasgow to Chicago to San Francisco to New Orleans. In March 2002, he was honored by the National Council on Communicative Disorders at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, where he received the Charles Van Riper Award. In July 2005, he gave the keynote address at the National Association of Young People Who Stutter (Friends) Conference in Cleveland. Taro and Our Time have been featured on NBC Nightly News With Brian Williams, NPR's All Things Considered, The Today Show, WNBC, as well as in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Washington Post. He would like to thank the young people of Our Time for their courage and trust. He is honored to be married to the amazing Leigh Pennebaker. They are the proud parents of one son, with another baby due in late Summer, 2009.

Here's what Taro says about 'LISTEN':
This album gives voice to a group of children who are too-often not listened to. By validating the artistic spirit of children who have been marginalized by society, this album provides inspiration to us all, empowering everyone to have courage and recognize the value of their own unique voice. At the same time it celebrates the amazing power of listening, acceptance, and love.

We live in a fast-paced society that encourages conformity and is often unkind to those of us who are different, whether we stutter or not. "Listen" is about the voice of incredible value that lies within each of us, regardless of fluency. It is also about the miracles that happen when we slow down long enough to really pay attention to our fellow human beings. There is profound and transformative beauty to be found in the simple act of listening.

The young people of Our Time have shown me personally how to live out of courage instead of fear, determination instead of defeat, and kindness instead of selfishness. These are universal themes that I think will resonate with people all over the world. I hope "Listen" will encourage all of us to love ourselves, and each other, and embrace life to the fullest. As 17-year-old Our Time member Naudia Jones wrote in Breathe In, "breathe in the life you're living, reach out and take a chance, breathe in the life you're given, don't be afraid to dance."

More About Our Time's Musical Director Everett Bradley:
Everett Bradley is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter, producer, actor, dancer and has shared his multi-flavored art with New York City and the world, for over 20 years. He has done everything from touring and performing, in and out of the studio, with musical giants like Bobby McFerrin, Jon Bon Jovi, Quincy Jones, Carly Simon, and recently Hall and Oates, to being the first American to lead and direct the British percussive sensation STOMP. Mr. Bradley topped the charts in Europe with his dance classic "I Luv U Baby." Everett won the prestigious Theatre World Award for co-writing, co-arranging, and starring in the hit Broadway musical "SWING," which was nominated for the 2000 Tony Award for Best Musical and also received a Grammy nomination for best Broadway Cast Recording. Everett's first full-length CD, "AS IT EVER IS," received rave reviews from both Billboard and People magazines. His haunting ballad "Whadify" was featured in the closing episode of Dawson's Creek. His original holiday CD entitled "TOY," is a joyous, funky collection of new Christmas tunes. This self-produced album features duets with Richie Sambora (guitarist with the Jon Bon Jovi Band), song siren Ann Hampton Callaway, and trumpet great Chris Botti. This accomplishment has received rave reviews from the Washington Post, USA Today, and Christmasmusic.com. He has since created Envision Music Design with long time friend and colleague Gregg Parratto. Both Indiana University School of Music graduates are now actively producing artists recordings, TV and film, and advertisements as well as Our Time's "Listen" album. This summer, Mr. Bradley will be honoring an awarded invitation from the Civitella Ranieri Center where gifted artists from different disciplines and countries come together to pursue their work and exchange ideas. Everett will work on his one-man show "Ev/OLUTION in a 15th century castle in the Umbria region of Italy. Everett feels extremely fortunate to be working with Our Time Theatre Company for the past 7 years.

The History and Mission of Our Time:
Our Time Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been improving the lives of kids who stutter since 2001. It is estimated that more than 60 million people in the world stutter, and this commonly misunderstood speech disorder causes extreme emotional distress in kids who struggle not only with verbal communication but also shame, discrimination, and social isolation. At Our Time, kids who stutter transform this fear and shame associated with stuttering into confidence and self-esteem.

Through a summer camp that welcomes kids from all over the world as well as local New York City programming, Our Time is the only organization that uses the performing arts to turn stuttering inside out. Our Time serves young people who stutter, their young family members, and friends, ages 8 to 18, from a wide diversity of backgrounds. There is no audition for prospective participants and no performance experience necessary. The company is committed to offering its NYC-based programming free of charge and providing financial aid to all youth in need for Camp Our Time.

Our Time provides a creative community that fosters unconditional acceptance and allows youth who stutter to feel respected and validated. Youth collaborate with others who also struggle to be heard in the everyday world. Our Time participants are assured that what they have to say is important, and they will have as much time as needed to express their unique and valuable voices, free from judgment and ridicule.

One of the tragedies of stuttering is that those who are afflicted often come to believe that voicing their thoughts, feelings, and dreams is not as important as hiding their disorder from the world. The arts brilliantly combat this notion, providing a vehicle for expression for those who have been silenced.

Through Our Time's artistic programming, youth gain the courage and strength to not let their speech disorders limit their life experiences or quell their dreams.

Catsask.com Introduces The 30 Day Music Review Guarantee

While there are many online publications available for independent and unsigned musicians to submit their music for review, there are very few, if any, that guarantee the process of publishing the artists' music review at any given time.

Musicians generally spend incredible amounts of money submitting CD's through the mail in the hopes that someone will provide them with some form of publicity in a reasonable time frame. Quite often the packages they send out are tossed in the garbage without anyone listening to their music.

That's why Catsask Music & Entertainment (http://www.catsask.com), a top Online Music Publication with thousands of independent music lovers, today announced the launch of it's "30 Day Music Review Guarantee" service. A new promotion that gives emerging artists guaranteed press and exposure on Catsask.com's highly respected Online Music Publication.

Tish Meeks of 3 Kisses (http://www.3kisses.com) states "I consider it a privilege ANYTIME a reviewer takes the time to listen to our music, share their thoughts and offer us press. Even if the review is not totally favorable, I believe it is important to thank the reviewers. After all, they are essential to us! We NEED them! And just because a reviewer doesn't like one release, doesn't mean he won't like the next. Of course, when we get such cool reviews like the ones from Catsask, we enjoy letting them know how much we appreciate them"

For as little as $10 emerging independent musicians are guaranteed an online music review within 30 days of submitting a minimum of 3 songs and have the option of upgrading to an Interview Plus Package for only $25. The upgrade gives artists the music review guarantee plus a live phone interview, as well as one of their songs posted alongside the review. The artists review is then published on the Catsask.com website and both the song and interview are included in the Catsask CRuMP Radio Podcast. The song and interview are also published on Duss Rodgers' personal blog "The Music Biz Buzz" weekly blog podcast (http://www.dussrodgers.com).

"It's rare to find a music service today that pushes the focus towards the satisfaction and the awareness of musicians and artists that happen to pass through their online doors. I mean with so many music publications popping up throughout the internet and the music industry, it's harder for musicians to decide between, and really focus on, what can help them get some real and worthwhile exposure. I'm sure they've had enough of the garbage that just gets delivered as hype nowadays." says Founder and CEO Duss Rodgers, "We've made it our priority to provide the best possible service by putting musicians first. We think that with this approach, musicians will finally be able to get what they want, and need, without having to beg and work as hard to find it."

When asked how they propose to maintain the quality levels of the music they review, Duss Rodgers stated, "Well, we accept all submissions, however, we do preview the music before the agreement is sealed. If we find that the music simply won't make the cut then we'll contact the artist and let them know beforehand. We're not in the business of breaking hearts and killing dreams. If we can't find something positive to say about the music, we're just not going to include it for review."

Mitch Friedman Teams w/ XTC On New Quirk-Pop-tacular CD 'Game Show Teeth'

Brooklyn's Mitch Friedman has just released his fourth album of idiosyncratic, funny, original quirky pop - GAME SHOW TEETH.

Featuring Andy Partridge and Dave Gregory of the legendary British new wave pop band XTC, Friedman has created a playful, mature and varied album of 13 eccentrically catchy songs, full of wit and impressive wordplay. GAME SHOW TEETH is his most commercial and accessible effort to date, and shows an artist who has come to fully master his trade. Produced, performed and engineered almost entirely by Friedman, it is as accomplished and technically adept as it is musically vibrant.

Even Ray Davies, song-writing legend and lead singer of The Kinks, has become a fan of Friedman's unique skills as a wordsmith. Having attended a Davies song-writing course in England, Friedman took the advice of the sixties legend that every song must have a clear structure and composed "This Is a Song" - an amusing tribute to the simple formula that can be found in so many beautiful pieces of pop.

He sent the song to Davies - who describes Friedman as a "funny and interesting little man" - and the Londoner then played it for his students as part of his lesson on song structure. You can't get much higher praise than that! Be on the lookout for the surprising and innovative music video for "This Is a Song," which Andy Partridge praised as "a piece of minimalist perfection, and perhaps the invention of a new genre - Obviousism."

The variety on the record comes from the wide range of influences that have all had an impact on Friedman's sound. "I Have Never Lied" tips its surreal hat to fellow Brooklyn quirk-rockers They Might Be Giants (with whom Friedman also shares the acclaim of being the creator of an award winning children's record - 2005's concept album for kids, PURPLE BURT.)

It is a testament to his abilities that some of his musical heroes have become repeat collaborators. The aforementioned Andy Partridge and Dave Gregory of XTC have added their expertise for the third time to a Friedman record - with Partridge providing his jaggedly jazzy guitar licks to "Little Masterpiece," and Gregory contributing several guitars and bass to the hyperactively folky "The Man That Talked Too Much."

Other special guest stars include the ‘godfather of DIY/home recording' R. Stevie Moore, Joe McGinty (former keyboardist for The Psychedelic Furs, Amy Rigby, Martha Wainwright, and now musical director of New York City's Loser's Lounge tribute series,) and indie-pop songstress extraordinaire Andrea Perry.

Add in to the mix, the hilariously irreverent artwork and photography and you have an album that should amuse, entertain and thoroughly enhance any discerning pop aficionado's life.
