Adult Contemporary Band WORLD5 To Be Distributed In China
Having recently seen chart positions in the top 5 on a variety of internet based radio outlets, the band WORLD5, which has their debut album titled "Global Experience" being officially released in the United States on May 1st, now has the approval of the Chinese government to have their music distributed in their country, which also includes Hong Kong and Taiwan. The official release date will be determined at a later time after the official release in the west. "The Chinese government keeps tight control of the music industry through ownership of their broadcast media, the screening of lyrics for commercial music and direct control of performing sites" explains Raimund Breitfeld, songwriter and drummer of World5. "All lyrics, the bio and everything about the band were translated into Chinese and screened. Most of the songs heard on Chinese radio these days are uplifting ballads and gentle love songs. The music of WORLD5 is a blend of adult contemporary pop rock and ballads; the lyrics are definitely never offensive." In addition, the band has also agreed to terms for distribution in Japan which will be made available soon after the May 1st release date. Breitfeld notices a vast difference in how music is treated in the two countries. "There is a long tradition for western bands in Japan and many have become big in Japan. They are far ahead with music downloads on mobile devices, while China discovers new music visually through music videos and other media. The Chinese listen to music extremely with their hearts, while listeners from the west are also more technically minded" Breitfeld explains. The Chinese and Hong Kong music industry can draw a potential of audience of 1.4 billion from citizens in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Chinese communities in large cities around the world. Japan has a buying population of 126.5 million, making it the 11th most populous nation. Over 140 million mobile singles were sold in Japan in 2008, an increase of 26 per cent on the prior year (RIAJ) and is currently the World's second largest music market for downloads. "We love the way people listen to music in Far East, and with 'Global Experience' we will certainly be accepted by most of the listeners" Bretifeld states. # # # ABOUT WORLD5: The band WORLD5 consists of five close friends: Raimund Breitfeld (Gothenburg, Sweden), Don Bruner (San Diego, CA), Stephan Goessl (Munich, Germany), Steffen Goeres (Wellington, New Zealand), and Roland Childs (San Francisco, CA) who all have performed live together over the years but later found homes in separate countries. Having great chemistry and the advantage of the internet, the band is able to collaborate and create musically while communicating via Skype. The band's debut album "Global Experience" was produced by 16-time nominated and 4-time Grammy winning producer Randy Miller (Burt Bacarach, Destiny's Child, Kelly Rowland) Email: maelstrompr@gmail.com.

Aurovine - New Online Music Platform Promises Better Deal For Artists
Band to Fan music startup Aurovine.com has announced an innovative launch day initiative called download store day. Bands are being asked to give away a studio track, rare demo or live song to 'liberate' them from the bootleg community. The bands can give it away free or sell it on a pay what you want basis with proceeds going to a nominated charity. Many bands have been bootlegged over the years either with or without the band's consent. In many cases this has extended the fan base and increased interest in the bands work. The only downside of course is that the band did not see any financial returns. Aurovine's idea is for artists to liberate these recordings officially and take some control over them. The website has some radical ideas for the way music is distributed. They aim to promote bands through syndicated genre charts and promote ethical transactions by asking bands to put minimal basic prices on their work and letting fans pay what they think the material is worth. This seems to be a far fairer approach than services such as Spotify. Aurovine's system sees bands rewarded fairly whilst fans get to set the price paid. The Founders of Aurovine believe that fan empowerment is the most powerful solution to online piracy. They believe the large majority of genuine music lovers want to pay for their music and they want to set and pay a fair price. "We've already had some well known artists contact us with reference to our download day idea and fans can look forward to some rare music surfacing on Aurovine during our launch period." said Director Ken Foster. A large majority of fans approached during Aurovine's market research period said they felt alienated by the major labels dictating prices and not moving with the times in terms of technology and the digital domain. On the face of it, Aurovine's philosophy makes sound business sense and it will be interesting to see if a company with an independent ethos can take on the digital heavyweights with established business models. Bands and fans can register at aurovine.com to find out more. Download store day will take place on May 11th 2012. The nominated charity is still to be announced.

Artist To Watch: Gay Rapper/Rocker Releases Singles Showcasing Talents
Pittsburgh's ANOTHER ONE FOR THE FIRE, fronted by 24-year-old "Cocky" Alcabez, released two singles on his Reverbnation and Bandcamp pages this week. The first, a mainstream, radio-ready hip hop jam entitled "Give U What U Want" is a solid introduction to what he's all about - fame, dough, and anything but the ladies. "Noone Likes You" is drastically different: A cutting edge, punk rock infused tantrum about the struggles of joblessness and morbidity within the Steel City. Website link

Barleyfields Records Makes Debut With "After All" On Leap Day
The St Louis, MO based musical group Barley Station is proud to announce the release of their first album, "After All," under their new label: Barleyfields Records. The album will be available via major digital outlets such as iTunes, Amazon, Verizon, Napster, etc. Physical copies will be made available via CDBaby.com and through CD Baby’s physical distribution partners. The album contains the critcally favored single "I Found You," which the Music Dish Journal described as "Rootsy alternative country at its best: catchy guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and a contagious harmony with simple but cool, happy go lucky lyrics [that] make this a likeable and great track that’s easy on the ears and warming to the heart." About Barley Station: Barley Station is one of those rare triple-fronted and multiple songwriter-vocalist bands (two male, one female) whose music combines the roots of Americana, Pop/Rock, Country, and Folk and puts them in a blender with a dash of amaretto pouring out a tasty glass of sound. The result is a distinctly alternative blend that draws deeply from its roots yet looks forward to the future. Reverb Nation artist David Namerow exclaims: "Barley Station cuts cleanly and crisply through the genre clutter with grooves that slice directly to the heart with honest power. Finally, music with teeth, heart and soul!” I Am Entertaiment Magazine put it this way, “Barley Station's eclectic brand of rock, country and folk music will give fans of those genres something to talk about. Unlike many bands, Barley Station isn't just creating music and calling it alternative, they've really mixed things up on AFTER ALL, making it a truly alternative rock album. Barley Station prides itself upon featuring two, three, and occasionally four-part harmonies, driving rhythms, and contagious melodies. The songwriting covers the gamut of emotions moving from upbeat bright material to darker or introspective moods. The sound is punctuated throughout with alternative country, bright pop/rock to progressive folk and alternative pop/rock sensibilities. Local recording artist and performer, Deborah Wedekind, who lives in the North Houston area, is currently featured with a photo, on the Singer Universe website's home page at: www.singeruniverse.com, as a National Top 5 Vocalist Finalist for January 2012! Her original song, "Psalm on Danny Boy", placed her in the Top 5 due to Deborah's beautiful vocals, haunting lyrics and unique arrangement. She also won a Top 5 spot nationally with Singer Universe in their December 2011 Best Vocalist contest, for her unique arrangement of "I Dreamed a Dream", recently made popular by British singer Susan Boyle. In Deborah's more Adult Contemporary version, she creates a stunningly beautiful counter melody in the orchestral strings which depict the longing and suffering of the lead character, Fantine, while creating a lighter vocal line that flows "…with much more of a Pop feel" than prior versions. Deborah recorded her CD, Clear Skies Ahead, which released in November 2011, with Producer, Troy Warren, Jr., at Absolute Sound studios in Houston. Troy ranks Deborah's CD as his top project in over 30 years of working in sound production. Since its release, here is what This is Kingwood has to say about Deborah: "...Deborah could and probably should be lumped in more with classic artists like Astrud Gilberto (Girl from Impanema), Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney and Lena Horne. She's that good. Her silky smooth voice stays somehow young and fresh while exhibiting a classically trained experience one can only gain from being, well, that good. If you get a chance to check out one of her local performances, do yourself a favor and make the effort, you'll be glad you did." Additionally, Deborah's original sexy-Latin arrangement of the classic, "Till There Was You", is currently in the Broadjam.com Top 10 Latin songs chart worldwide, and on Feb. 19th, 2012, it reached #2 on the Top 10 Latin Jazz world chart. Review of "Cutting Edge Released....LIVE!" by SKOPE Magazine
Cutting Edge's new live album, has received a glowing review from Jimmy Rae of Skope magazine: Are you ready for the best thing since sliced bread??? Well then, you’re in luck my friends because Cutting Edge is their name and ‘RELEASED… LIVE’ is the album that will electrify audiences everywhere! Seriously, if you dig live recordings then this one is definitely for you. In my opinion, this record is right up there at the top of my list for one of the best live albums I’ve ever heard! From start to finish, you know right away that Cutting Edge was specifically designed to perform live ‘n’ exciting music for thousands of screaming fans. All 14 tracks display a crazy amount of energy where the fans are totally into it and Cutting Edge is feelin’ it. The overall excitement that surrounds the band and the people is really something special to hear. ‘RELEASED… LIVE’ is an in-your-face rock party CE style that will leave the listeners in amazement. Cutting Edge is one of the most eclectic groups out there amongst Major & Indie acts. The lead vocals will grab you with meaningful & catchy lyrics while you will also witness smokin’ hot guitar playing/solos, powerful drumming, excellent backup singers along with some cool horn parts thrown in. You might also like the politically-driven songs where the Cutting Edge views are addressed in a cool ‘n’ direct manner. This kind of material is much needed for today’s world and CE says it best on “Abuse of Power” where they sing “Do we have a justice system?…It’s time to find a solution”. Great question to bring up and an answer is surely in desperate need…don’t ya think? I couldn’t help but move to the exhilarating, live sets on ‘RELEASED… LIVE’ where the music will just take over your body. You’ll hear the epic chart topper “Your Love Is My Oxygen” and the fan favorite “Love Police” that is sure to drive you wild along with many other CE rockers. Cutting Edge is simply on fire and this new release proves it. Ain’t no party like a Cutting Edge party cause a Cutting Edge party don’t stop! You heard it here, if you’re looking for one of the best live bands on the planet and one of the best live albums around then Cutting Edge, ‘RELEASED… LIVE’ is your ticket! And as Cutting Edge says on one of their songs “Let Your Body Rock…let your body roll” because only REO Speedwagon knows that I “Can’t Fight This Feeling”any longer. The Cutting Edge spell has got a hold of me and it won’t let go! Indie label Whipped Cream Records based in Monterey, California announces the release of Escape Club's new CD titled 'Celebrity' featuring 11 new songs through Redeye Distribution of Haw River, North Carolina. Escape Club has five previous Top 100 songs on Billboard, including #1 "Wild Wild West." Escape Club, founded by lead singer Trevor Steel and guitarist John Holliday in the U.K., are known as a Rock band that has sampled Deep Purple in the past. Against that stereotype, Trevor and John wrote a beautiful ballad for a grieving widow, titled "I'll Be There." The song soared to #8 on Billboard and has been updated for the new album as track 11, "I'll Be There (The Sequel)." The rest of the album rocks with tracks such as "Say Hello," "Celebrity," and "God's Own Radio" featuring great guitar and cool lyrics for the second decade of the new millennium. The new Escape Club album is available February 7 online at iTunes, Amazon, and Best Buy, as well as at the best Indie Record stores in your neighborhood. Redeye Distribution can be contacted at http://www.redeyeusa.com/ (1 877 REDEYE 1). Escape Club is expected to support the release with a U.S. tour in the summer. The band looks forward to performing again, as "Playing live was always one of our strengths," Trevor says, "All those years ago it's what got us started in the London clubs and it's something we've missed very much." The new album 'Celebrity' was sent to Adult Alternative rock stations in the U.S., and the single, "God's Own Radio" was arranged to be delivered via the 'A Taste Of Triple A' radio sampler. The sampler is sent to 260 key radio programmers and features the Escape Club single as Track 1, Disc 1, as well as on the CD cover. Promotion for the new 'Celebrity' album also includes online media with viral videos produced by the band introducing new songs, concert performances, and behind the scenes moments. REVIEW BY CELEBRITY NEWS: "Love Police 'LIVE'" By Cutting Edge
It has been almost 20 years since I have heard a kick-ass party track like "Love Police". From the moment the band kicks in, the audience is pumped and the party has begun. You can hear the interaction between the band and the audience and it keeps you pumped from start to finish. The thing that sets Cutting Edge apart from the other bands is not only did the original version of "Love Police" hit the top 20 about 12 years ago, but two dances remixes by the band and remixers Giuseppe D. and Ricky Ric also charted. The band released the original version of the song and before it moved off the chart, released the Giuseppe D. remix and then prior it moving off the chart, released the remix by Ricky Ric. "Love Police' was on the charts for almost a full year. Now, 12 years later, the band releases the new live version of "Love Police" that captures the excitement of a Cutting Edge concert. The live version of "Love Police" and the whole new live album ("Cutting Edge Released....LIVE!) takes you right into the party of a Cutting Edge concert that is non-stop excitement. Just when you think the band has peaked and is reaching the end of the song, "Love Police"; Cutting Edge explodes into the Ricky Ric dance remix and the party continues nonstop. From rock to dance, I don't really know of any other bands that could have pulled this off and Cutting Edge does it with ease. As my friend DJ Booker says, "He does not know of any other indie band in the world who can get on the same stage as Cutting Edge; they are the best and this live album catches it all". You can capture the whole live experience of a Cutting Edge concert and all their hit songs, including "Love Police" right from your own living room. The Cutting Edge live track of "Love Police" is something everyone should give a listen to, but by far the new album "Cutting Edge Released....LIVE!" is the best live album I have ever heard from any indie band. Very few major artists have pulled of the recording of a live concert like Cutting Edge and it EXPLODES IN YOUR FACE. I do not know of any other 'indie' band that can do a live album that features hit songs that have charted; from last year's "Without You" and "If The Walls Could Talk" which charted on the Billboard Hot Single Sales Charts, to the hit songs "Your Love Is My Oxygen", "Judas of D.C." and of course, "Love Police", it is all there for the Cutting Edge experience. Cutting Edge Released....LIVE" is the ultimate live album that will keep you glued to the headphones for hours on end. Another writer here is doing a review of the opening track "It's Time" and he says, "It's ten thumbs up all the way". Five Stars out of Five on this one! The album "Cutting Edge Released....LIVE" and the song "Love Police" can be found at 101distribution.com or on iTunes - Steve Bjork is a freelance writer for Celebrity News and various other entertainment magazines.

Whether its chasing bear through the mountains or throwing back a bit of old Lightning, he is all about laughing and having a good time. His trademark hat and long hair lets ya spot him from far off. Sorta gives ya a chance to decide to buy him a drink or quickly make yer exit. He is lover of old time blues and Southern Rock and this colors his style in most things. You can usually find him banging out some tune he just pulled out of his .. um.. "made up", or singing some Ole Time Southern Rock. His soulful renderings touch ya in a way that you start thinking "Maybe hippies aren't all bad." Uncle Otis – The Other Guitarist - One of the lynch pins of the band. Otis brings his mix of Southern Rock flair and "super slide" twangs to the flavor of this old timey dish. He keeps Remus on track and has a taste for good tequila. So if ya see him out and about, buy this man a shot. Francesca Deletroix – Backing Vocals - Providing backing vocals for Remus and the band. She is a sultry and mysterious woman that came from parts unknown.. She won't tell us about her past, and we don't really want to know. All I can say is that she has the dulcet tones of a dove and carries a razor in her stocking. Jefferson Alligator Garfish Guard – Drums - Gator, as he is known in certain circles, has been bashing the living hell out of drums for most of his life. Whether its flying over the bayou in a swamp boat, or busting out beats in high, and low, class clubs. This man keeps the rhythm and drives the night. Cousin Moze – Lead Guitar - He is the lead banger in this here shindig. His style of jazzy, bluesy, leads push the sound of the band to incredible heights. He's a quiet one, until ya give him his gitfiddle. Then WATCH OUT! Professor Cletis “Underfoot” Norwood Tucker (no relation) - Bass Guitar - The professor hails from the bustling borough of Red's Junction Colorado, home of Red's Cat House. No one knows where he was born because baby Cletis was found in a basket at the back door of RCH. The sign that was attached to him said simply, "will work for food." The employees at the Cat House, having no children of their own, adopted the baby professor and raised him as a village does. From his early days of playing rattle in the cat house band, Cletis showed an aptitude for rhythmic invention. Because xylophone and squeaky toy seemed too rudimentary for such a gifted infant, the professor moved on to guitar. Pleased with the melodic possibilities of this new instrument but unsatisfied with the low expectations for rhythmic accuracy, Cletis quickly and wisely shifted to bass guitar. The professor had found the love of his life. www.artistpr.com/theremustuckerband

New England Garage Bands Featured Interview With Quasi-Rock Band A Raven's Sorrow
Music: http://www.arsband.com/interviews.html
Jeff Glazier and Jason Percival, the founders of the quasi-rock band A Raven's Sorrow, were recently featured in a live videotaped interview with Jeff Royds of New England Garage Bands. In the more than 30 minute interview, Glazier and Percival explained their music and their philosophy on life.
In the interview (and video) that was recently published in the MusicDish e-Journal, Glazier acknowledged that while his music is not for everybody, they definitely have their fans. Commenting on the interview and his music, Glazier said, "It's a way of expressing things that can't be put into words. If, through my music, I can get close enough to expressing my feelings about certain subjects, then I've accomplished my goal."
A Raven's Sorrow has released a set of demos for two albums, "Chrysalis" and "Hail Suicide" and is currently producing the full "Chrysalis" album. Along with Percival and Glazier, the band is comprised of fellow member Joseph Cox.

The Fab Faux Return to Washington, D.C. for May 22nd Concert at Lisner Auditorium
The Fab Faux will return to Washington, D.C. for the fourth year in a row, with a May 22nd concert at Lisner Auditorium.
The May 22nd event, a presentation of HK Entertainment, will feature a 'Glorious Hodgepodge' of Beatles music, as The Fab Faux are joined by Creme Tangerine Strings and Hogshead Horns.
For those of us who never got to see The Beatles in concert, we're fortunate to have The Fab Faux dedicate themselves to faithfully recreating some of the most extraordinary music ever written.
The Fab Faux brings together the talents of five of New York's most respected musicians: Will Lee of Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Vivino, formerly of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Rich Pagano, who has performed with Rosanne Cash and Ray Davies, Jack Petruzzelli, who has toured and recorded with Joan Osborne, Patti Smith and Rufus Wainwright, and Frank Agnello, whose musical credits include Phoebe Snow, Marshall Crenshaw and Joey Molland of Badfinger.
The Fab Faux are now in a league of their own, consistently performing music that The Beatles themselves never played live. Beginning with a pair of concerts at Webster Hall in late '07, the band has reached a new level of fan support as well as media awareness, with growing coverage including ABC-TV World News Tonight with Charles Gibson, NPR, Rolling Stone, Associated Press, Reuters Newswire, NY-1 News, The New York Times, NY Post, New Yorker, NY Sun, Hollywood Reporter, Time Out NY, The Nation and much more. An NPR Morning Edition segment (http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18342562 ) praised the group as a "Collective that's about attention to detail." A Front Page feature in The Hollywood Reporter noted: "After nearly 10 years together, (they) find themselves in the midst of a surprising leap from club fringe to center stage..." Critics have weighed in, and have described the band as nothing less than "Brilliant" (AP). A live concert review in THE NATION.com described their show as "Almost magical." The Fab Faux celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a sold-out concert at New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall, and delivered a 36-song marathon performance that began with 'Magical Mystery Tour' and ended three hours later with 'Hey Jude' -- with the audience of more than 6,000 people on its feet. Their 10th Anniversary 'Psychedelia!' concert was The Fab Faux's largest headlining concert ever, their largest-ever sold out concert, and their largest NY concert-to-date as well.
The Fab Faux commemorated the 43rd Anniversary of The Beatles' performance on The Ed Sullivan Show with a February '07 appearance Late Show with David Letterman. Check out their fantastic recreation of 'I Am The Walrus' here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lknCpGbsJc
In other news, band member Rich Pagano recently celebrated the release of his solo CD, Rich Pagano + the sugarCane Cups, a classic influenced rock and roll record of angst and escapism which has received rave reviews and notable coverage including EntertainmentWeekly.com, The CW Network, GOOD DAY NY and much more. Blurt Magazine described the CD as "one of the best albums of 2009." After years of working behind the scenes to make extraordinary music for and with some of the industry's most revered artists, Pagano decided it was time to work on a record of his own. Pagano is known for his expertise in producing, recording or playing drums live, with artists including Patti Smith, Rosanne Cash, Robbie Robertson, Ray Davies, Willie Nile, gospel icon Marie Knight, Joan Osborne, Levon Helm, Mott The Hoople legend Ian Hunter and of course The Fab Faux, among others. The CD features guest performances by Trey Anastasio, Ian Hunter and The Fab Faux. Visit www.richpagano.com for more info.
ABOUT THE FAB FAUX:
With a commitment to the accurate reproduction of The Beatles' repertoire, The Fab Faux treat the seminal music with unwavering respect, and are known for their painstaking recreations of the songs (with emphasis on the later works never performed live by the Beatles). Far beyond a cover band, they play the music of The Beatles so impeccably that one must experience it to believe it. Imagine hearing complex material like "Strawberry Fields Forever" or "I Am the Walrus" performed in complete part-perfect renditions; or such harmony-driven songs as "Because", "Nowhere Man", and "Paperback Writer", reproduced not only note-for-note, but with extra vocalists to achieve a double-tracked effect.
The musical virtuosity of The Fab Faux - in actuality five of the hardest working musicians in NYC - completely up-ends the concept of a Beatles tribute band. Far beyond being extended sets of cover versions, their astounding shows are an inspired re-discovery of the Beatles' musical magic, as The Fab Faux tackles the group's most demanding material live onstage in a way that has to be experienced to be believed.
Calling them, "the greatest Beatles cover band - without the wigs," Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke wrote, "the Faux invigorate the artistry of even the Beatles' most intricate studio masterpieces with top chops and Beatlemaniac glee." Approaching the songs with the intent of playing them live as accurately in musical reading and in spirit as possible, The Faux's breathtaking performances tend to dispel all concertgoers' previous notions of a Beatles tribute act.
The Fab Faux are a labor of love that was born in 1998 when neighbors Jimmy Vivino, guitarist/arranger for Late Night With Conan O'Brien house band the Max Weinberg 7 and Will Lee (who's played with all 4 Beatles), bassist for Paul Shaffer's CBS Orchestra on the Late Show With David Letterman kicked around the idea during an elevator ride in their NYC building. Rounding out the line-up are lead-singing drummer/producer Rich Pagano (Rosanne Cash, Patti Smith, Ray Davies, etc.), guitarist Frank Agnello (Marshall Crenshaw, Phoebe Snow, etc.) and ace keyboardist/guitarist Jack Petruzzelli (Joan Osborne Band, Rufus Wainwright). All five principals contribute vocals, making the Faux's soaring harmonies as resonant as their multi-instrumental chops, which are further enhanced by the four-piece Hogshead Horns (with Blues Brothers, Blood, Sweat & Tears and SNL band alums) and Creme Tangerine Strings.
The Faux's high energy shows have generated serious buzz not only at top NYC venues including The Beacon Theater, Hammerstein Ballroom, and Webster Hall - with Beatles fans, movie stars and world class musicians in attendance - but at major dates in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Park City, Utah (Sundance), Philadelphia and Toronto, among other locales. They've headlined 4 of the last 5 years at Liverpool's annual Beatle Week, playing before 35,000 Beatle fanatics - while in England, they had the rare honor of recording an original song at Abbey Road Studios - and also delighted the masses performing live on the Howard Stern Show. Benefit and corporate dates have included events for JVC, the N.B.A. and the Michael J. Fox Parkinsons Research Foundation.
"It's not just a cover band," says the Faux's Pagano. "This is the greatest Pop music ever written, and we're such freaks for it." Imagine the instrumental complexities of "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "A Day in the Life" performed part-perfect with an orchestra. The lush, multi-layered harmonies of "Because," and "Eleanor Rigby" sung note-for-note. The adrenaline rush of "Helter Skelter" and "Paperback Writer," delivered spot on...
