Heavy Metal Band VIA Signs To Unable Records

In the ultimate case of saving-the-best-for-last, Unable Records has rocked the American metal scene on the final day of the year. Violence in Ascension, the veteran metal band also known as VIA, has just inked a one album deal with Unable Records, a division of the Unable Music Group. The agreement calls for a full-length album, likely consisting of 10 brand new original songs, to be released later in 2016.

VIA, who recently adopted their long-form name Violence in Ascension, are a well established staple in the East Coast metal scene. Since early 2012, VIA has released both an EP and a full-length album; the latter (From the Ashes - 2014) while signed to the North Carolina heavy metal label Dark Harvest Records. During that time the band has played a relentless show schedule, hitting stages from South Carolina to New York And as far west as Ohio, where they played the main stage for fans at Cleveland's famed Rockapalooza. VIA has shared the stage with notable bands such as Texas in July, Attack! Attack! and The Devil Wears Prada.

For the crew at Unable Records, VIA represents a breath of fresh air; a band that not only packs an unbelievable amount of raw talent, but backs it up with unmatched dedication and persistence. They are the definition of what it means to never give up, and Unable Records is proud to now call them part of the family. The new album, and the extensive tour schedule that will undoubtedly follow, will embody that heart, that dedication, that character. Metal fans should expect nothing short of a masterpiece - a masterpiece that exudes energy, confidence, charisma and attitude.

If speed is any indication of the excitement behind this project, Unable Records and VIA must be through the roof. Fans won't have long to wait for results, as the band's tracking sessions have already been booked - for January 2016! The album will be recorded, mixed and produced by the well known engineer/producer Jason Ruch, at Unable Music Group's 0x1 Sound Studio in Cherry Hill, NJ. Mastering will be performed by James Forbes (Metal Blade, Roadrunner, Warner Bros., Sony) of Vortex Music Productions in Clearwater, FL. The album will be released, distributed and promoted worldwide by Unable Records, in both digital and CD formats. Metal fans the world over are about to learn about struggle, sacrifice and perseverance - about Violence in Ascension. In mid-2016, VIA will ascend.

Heavy Russia: Young Metal Act "Gravity Rain" Announce Crowdfunder For "Artifacts Of Balance"

Taking their origins from a country with a truly deep musical heritage, acclaimed young Russian metal act Gravity Rain are engaging their fanbase to support them in finishing their upcoming album “Artifacts of Balance”.

Gravity Rain made its debut in May 2014 with the 3-track EP “The Shining Silence”. Carefully crafted, well produced and showcasing an eclectic mix of influences including Tool, Devin Townsend, Staind and Type O Negative, the release was well received in heavy music circles. Natalie Humphries of Soundscape Magazine said “for a first EP, it’s an impressive offering”.

Gravity Rain is skillfully balanced between an abundance of melody, clean, solid vocals and a fine feeling for music itself, yet retaining the power and groove of metal at its core.

The recording of the new album is almost finished; the funds will go towards for mixing, mastering, proper promotional release and tour. Enticing pre-order packages and special benefits will be provided exclusively for funders. "Artifacts of Balance" is on its way and it's no doubt an upcoming album that is worth to be a part of.

Guitarist, Adrian Galysh, has enlisted Styx stickman, Todd Sucherman, to contribute drums and percussion to his new record, “Tone Poet”. Todd Sucherman brings to the record both world-class drumming and vast experience. Experience which includes session credits for over 1000 radio and TV spots, as well as touring and recording with legendary artists such as Brian Wilson, Spinal Tap, and of course, Styx.

Galysh, described as “A virtuoso of modern electric and acoustic guitar techniques” by 20th Century Guitar magazine, has been dazzling California audiences for over a decade, whether he’s backed by his band or as sideman for ex-Scorpions guitar legend, Uli Jon Roth.

“Tone Poet” is Galysh’s fourth solo album, but will be the first to include both instrumentals as well as a number of vocal tracks, ably sung by Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Royal Hunt).

With “Tone Poet”, Galysh’s tasteful guitar work and compositional style are still front and center, but will now have one of the industry’s most respected drummers laying down the grooves. So respected that 2012 saw Todd Sucherman win multiple categories in DRUM! Magazine’s reader’s poll, including  #1 DVD (Methods and Mechanics II), #1 Clinician, #2 Rock Drummer, #2 Book (Methods and Mechanics Transcription Book).

In addition, Modern Drummer’s 2012 reader’s poll clocked him in at #2 DVD (Methods and Mechanics II), #3 Prog Drummer, ranking next to Neil Peart and Mike Mangini!

An exciting year for sure, and a great follow up to 2009 which saw Todd Sucherman on the cover of Modern Drummer, and winning the reader's poll for #1 Rock Drummer, #1 Educational DVD with "Methods and Mechanics" as well as #1 Clinician in DRUM! Magazine - all while touring the world with the multi-platinum Styx and performing drum clinics and recording sessions from coast to coast.

According to Adrian, “I’ve known Todd for about 10 years. We were neighbors in Los Angeles before he moved to Texas. We’ve discussed working together for a long time, but due to his busy tour schedule and the distance (I still live in LA), we weren’t able to do it till now. Todd is a really tasteful drummer, very musical, with a ton of chops - totally in league with the likes of Colaiuta, Smith, and Bozzio.”

Galysh continues, “Tone Poet is my most mature album. I’ve written a very melodic, musical, collection of tunes, that includes my progressive hard rock influences, classical and world-music influences. Todd’s playing is right in sync with where I am at, musically.”

Not Just Another Metal Band

Armed with a crisp new sound up-and-coming rock band The Rift, signed to Holodigm Media, packs a punch with their debut CD. The band has a great deal of raw song writing talent and their music combines the musicianship of heavy metal rock with great pop hooks. Founding members/brother John and Aris Anagnos have been playing music together for years and are the heart and soul of the band.

Although The Rift has only been together for two years, they share great chemistry on stage having made them a quite popular live band. They have earned a reputation that has allowed them to share the stage with bands such as: The Misfits, Exodus, Yngwie Malmsteen and Midnight Theory.

The Rift has worked with several Producers including Geza X (Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Black Flag, The Avengers and The Weirdos) and Paul Roessle (Screamers, Nina Hagen, 45 Grave,Mike Watt, Twisted Roots and more), but it wasn’t until recently that the band found the sound they had been looking for, thanks to Crooked Creek Studios and Producer Chuck Bennet who took the band’s sound to the next level.

When asked, lead singer Aris Anagnos states his personal musical influnces are the likes of Led Zeppelin, Metallica, 30 Seconds to Mars and Atreyu. Other members of the band include Tyler Holsclaw, Matt Melamed, Tesh Hatharasinghe, and John Anagnos. Most of the other band members state their influences are almost identical, making the band very consistent and well suited for the alternative/hard rock music that they play.

Their self titled album The Rift is now available on iTunes
