Cedar Falls-based alt-rock band, The Blue Danes have released their debut album "Invisible and Untouchable" on Chicago label Loki Valhalla Productions. Formed after the breakup of the local alt-rock band Toast, ex-bassist Shaun Courbat and ex-guitarist Frank Hansen partnered with veteran drummer Skip Lowe to form The Blue Danes. From Phoenix to Wisconsin: Midwest Soul Xchange Debut Album

The Midwest Soul XChange, a collaborative effort between long-time friends and Chippewa Falls, Wis. natives Ryan Summers and Nate Cherrier, will be releasing its debut album on November 24. 'New American Century' is an eclectic powerhouse of influence.

The Midwest Soul XChange describes their sound as Americana infused with folk, progressive rock, and pop influence. With a passion for acts like Kula Shaker, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and many more, the project is a vehicle to meld those stylings into a coherent, exciting new product. Even though Summers lives in Marshfield, Wisconsin and Cherrier lives in Phoenix, Arizona, the two were able to collaborate in Phoenix during the recording process.

Many times during the creation of 'New American Country,' the Midwest Soul XChange did have to collaborate over a great distance. "What comes to mind is a theme of 'flying blind with precision," Summers explains. "When you can't sit in the same room and hash out a song, you have to wait for the other person to record, upload, and see how the recording fits. It can be challenging if it wasn't what you were expecting, but also exciting."

"There were a lot of happy accidents..."

'New American Country' features eleven new original songs from the two performers. With such a broad spectrum of influence, however, the XChange is somewhat difficult to classify into a genre. 'Americana' is a suitable blanket for the effort, since it doesn't "pigeonhole them into one specific genre." The Midwest Soul XChange often classifies their material as "American Melancholia."

"We tend to write with a national/autobiographical sense," Cherrier detailed. "We consider the tales of our history as well as the harsher realities of today." The core recipe for that creation? The duo considers it a "sprinkling of protest, a dash of sass, a pinch of progressive, and a light glaze of folk."

Not Just Another Metal Band

Armed with a crisp new sound up-and-coming rock band The Rift, signed to Holodigm Media, packs a punch with their debut CD. The band has a great deal of raw song writing talent and their music combines the musicianship of heavy metal rock with great pop hooks. Founding members/brother John and Aris Anagnos have been playing music together for years and are the heart and soul of the band.

Although The Rift has only been together for two years, they share great chemistry on stage having made them a quite popular live band. They have earned a reputation that has allowed them to share the stage with bands such as: The Misfits, Exodus, Yngwie Malmsteen and Midnight Theory.

The Rift has worked with several Producers including Geza X (Dead Kennedys, The Germs, Black Flag, The Avengers and The Weirdos) and Paul Roessle (Screamers, Nina Hagen, 45 Grave,Mike Watt, Twisted Roots and more), but it wasn’t until recently that the band found the sound they had been looking for, thanks to Crooked Creek Studios and Producer Chuck Bennet who took the band’s sound to the next level.

When asked, lead singer Aris Anagnos states his personal musical influnces are the likes of Led Zeppelin, Metallica, 30 Seconds to Mars and Atreyu. Other members of the band include Tyler Holsclaw, Matt Melamed, Tesh Hatharasinghe, and John Anagnos. Most of the other band members state their influences are almost identical, making the band very consistent and well suited for the alternative/hard rock music that they play.

Beyond Words Dance Company will be performing an original first act inspired by "Alice in Wonderland" and the music of From Behind The Clouds. The second act will consist of all of the dances from their 2011-2012 competition repertoire. Kate choreographed the dancers movements to all of Adam's original music. "I was simply inspired by Kate. I was at a musical crossroads when a friend showed me some of her work on video. Seeing what Kate was doing made me want to write...BIG TIME! I think she's incredibly talented and I'm honored to be a part of this production. My earliest musical recollections can be traced back to the harmonies on Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumors' and the dreaminess of the synthesizers on Gary Wright's 'Dream Weaver.' Scheduled for release in Europe early Summer 2012, the album is currently in post-production at legendary Ocean Way Studios, Hollywood, CA. The much-anticipated LP is produced by Christian Olde Wolbers (Arkaea, Fear Factory); Orlando Villasenor and mastered by Maor Applebaum (Halford; Yngwie Malmsteen). A North American release of the debut album from Sylencer is also expected later in 2012 and an aggressive 2012-13 tour schedule is in the planning. World5 To Release Global Experience May 1st 2012

Collaborating between five band members spanning four countries with a 4-time Grammy winning producer in a Houston recording studio, and having recently received two number-one slots on prominent internet charts and a Gold Award for their promotional single and video, the band World5 will be releasing their debut album titled "Global Experience" later this spring. "I think the album is a cool blend of different styles." states 4-time Grammy winning producer Randy Miller. "The songs have the common thread of the individual members of the group bringing their own artistic visions to bring about the globally diverse sound of World 5 . It was a great experience to mix and master this album using technology to overcome time and space to bring all of our musical ideas together. The video to the single has also garnered much attention as a feel-good story that has gotten over 20,000 views on YouTube, Vimeo and other outlets. "We already had such a great response from the song but when we released the video the song has gotten so much more attention" states drummer/ percussionist Raimund Breitfeld. "People from all around the world can easily identify themselves with this storyline in the video."
