MusicDishTV Presents Robert Nix's "Walk Down The Street"

Robert Nix's video for "Walk Down the Street" is one that's difficult to explain, but incredibly pleasing to watch. He is a post-contemporary composer, but his music is so much more. The video follows Nix as he records the various instruments in the song, creating a fully experimental and pop-rock fusion track. He throws in some cut scenes of himself walking aimlessly through his home-city of Toronto to represent the theme of his song; being lost. The cinematography supports the theme as well, as the dissonance of the shaky camera certainly makes the viewer feel a little lost. The compassion in his voice and power in his presence in the video allows the video to almost attain a sense of spirituality.

All in all, this is a fantastic video from top to bottom. Robert Nix is a mastermind and he displays a true love for his craft. Teaming up with filmmaker Rohit "Badmash" Thakur was a terrific decision and "Badmash" certainly fulfilled his responsibilities.

MusicDishTV Presents "Big Deal" By Patrick "P.A.T." Barnett

Patrick "P.A.T." Barnett's "Big Deal" is a well-produced video and song that is clean cut and smooth at the same time. This young rapper delivers the goods in a manner that all can understand and without all of the obscenities that we've grown accustomed to in hip hop. "Big Deal" is definitely a big deal. It's a slowly paced groove that is inspirational with words that have a message with a punch behind them. Barnett spits his rhymes so clearly that even your grandmother could understand them and would be proud. The video itself is filmed in black and white, and is chock full of shots of a young rapper trying to make it - in the studios, in the streets, and wherever he can. Sometimes, inspiration comes from strange places, and Barnett encourages listeners not to give it. He uses a nice jazz and hip hop blend for the mix, adding a nice hook to complete the package. The young southern emcee has also been the recipient of many awards, and his material is increasingly sought after in the underground music scene. Email: tv@musicdish.net

Video: Robert Lauri - Bahia Dream

Robert Lauri - Bahia Dream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWHBsP28uZg

Eclectic Artist Robert Lauri encompasses a wide variety of musical genres on his latest record 'United Souls'. One of his preferred styles is to mix hip hop with traditional music, whether it's classic or folk-roots music. The result is always convincing and his music is sure to surprise the ears of those who are listening to him music for the first time. Robert Lauri is also one of those experienced artists who know when and where to push their music, adapting it to the changing times and the new technologies.

'Bahia Dream' is a chilly up-tempo trip hop tune. The style is fresh and modern but the accordion gives you the impression of being catapulted on Paris' Champs-Élysées. The video gives us a shot of Mother Nature's many beauties.

The complete album 'United Souls' is now available on the download stores.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGqNUEy8VOI

Anguillan born singer-songwriter Jahmings Maccow is presenting his new music video for 'Free The Pain'. The song is available on iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/man-redemption/id319093101

Maccow grew up in New York City, where he hooked up and played with various New York bands in The Big Apple. Now based in L.A., one of the the projects that he's planning to embark upon is a world tour that will bring him and his band to Asia by the end of 2010.

His standing against commercialization of the music began in the '80s and it has since then developed into a pure vintage reggae sound, very similar to the music of the Jamaican superstar, Bob Marley. His stories, the way he sings about social issues, love, and pain, are all coming deeply from the heart of a man. His songwriting is not something built to impress; it touches you because of its simplicity and its authenticity.

Rachel McDonald - B.A.L.T.I.M.O.R.E.

Rachel McDonald - B.A.L.T.I.M.O.R.E.

B.A.L.T.I.M.O.R.E is both a tribute to McDonald's home city as well as a dance anthem. A bouncy beat and smooth bass line make this tune perfect for the club. McDonald's voice shines here with a rich depth of tone and maturity that belies her youth and the breakdown is infectious. This song makes you dance.

Rachel McDonald is not only an extremely talented singer and songwriter; she’s a woman on a mission: bringing soul back to urban music. As her musical influences are Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Chaka Kahn, Yolanda Adams, and Fergie, she certainly seems to be on course.

Kaya - Rat Race

Kaya - Rat Race

by Jon Peritz

"The new music video for Rat Race, from the UK based soul/hip-hop outfit Kaya is an in your face no nonsense dance party with a message. Shot in a single small room blanketed in old posters and graffiti, the video shows the band in their natural element. Rappers Aina and Natty rhyme about the inequities of the tax structure and the importance of working for the love and not for the money. This song has a sticky hook tied together with catchy horn lines and a number of clever verses that the band performs as they act out their words. Aina sings about working a 10-6 job as she sits, clearly frustrated, behind a desk crowded with papers and a fax machine. She vows there to turn over a new leaf. Kaya released the video for Rat Race to warm us up for their new record due to drop in August 2010."

Blurred Vision - Another Brick In The Wall (Hey Ayatollah, Leave Those Kids Alone!)

Canadian rock band Blurred Vision is gearing up to release their debut album. The remake of 'Another Brick In The Wall' by Pink Floyd, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Babak Payami, has been produced to show solidarity to the people of Iran, who are fighting for their freedom of speech against their fundamentalist regime.

The video shows images from the fights that occurred after the 2009 Iranian presidential election, that many Iranians claimed was altered and highly influenced by the cleric leadership of Ayatollah's and by the government in general. Most of those images have been captured by people on the streets, as the social media and news agencies were restricted during protests. Protesters were and are seeking a more democratic participation and freedom of speech.

The song is available for download on iTunes. 50% of all sales will be donated to Amnesty International.

MusicDishTV presents: Ivory Tower Project "My Name"

Watch the video on MusicDishTV: Ivory Tower Project - My Name

The Ivory Tower Project offers an excellent classic rock, infused with many important social issues such as alienation and escapism but also simple feelings like love. The anthem of the group but also the true meaning of their name, is to go beyond the every day's reality that makes us alienated. The Ivory Tower is that very best place of refuge from the daily routine where you are 'free' to express yourself.

'My Name' is the opening track of RED HOT, their last full-length album released on Guerrilla Records. The track enhances their style, very close to 80's rock, but the video shows captions of modern New York City, with its crowded streets and people always on the run. Symbol of a fast-growing world that can forget about the most simple and innocent emotions.
