"The Young Lioness of Africa" Releases Debut Album
Wiyaala, the young lioness, leads the pride towards peace and unity with her new self-titled album, out worldwide on November 24th.
Following success with her singles "Make Me Dance", "Rock My Body", "Africa", and the World Cup anthem "Go Go Black Stars..Goal!", Wiyaala announces her self-titled album. The new LP, "Wiyaala", is distributed on the Djimba World Records label under exclusive license to JTV Digital. It is officially released worldwide on November 24th through all major digital retailers: http://wiyaala.lnk.to/lp
The album, sung in a mix of English and local tribal dialects of Sissali and Wale is an update on the "clash of civilizations" between the cultural traditions, social order and practices of West Africa and the impact of the "West". Wiyaala does not seek confrontation. She has a positive message.
In the songs Siiko, Bunsun and Sun & Moon, Wiyaala gently chides, that in the haste to acquire the benefits of the digital life, her people should not forget their roots: "Come, lets go back! Embrace the things we left behind, and add them to what we have now."
ABOUT WIYAALA:
Wiyaala, from the Upper West of Ghana, is a personification of modern Africa: creative, brave, strong and beautiful. Her name, literally translates to "the doer" in Sissala, her tribal language and perfectly describes her approach to life. Frequently compared to Angelique Kidjo and Grace Jones, Wiyaala’s music is truly Afro-Pop fusing her African roots with contemporary world Pop music.
Wiyaala has four nominations at the 2014 All Africa Music Awards (AFIMA), Revelation of the African Continent, Best Reggae, Ragga, Dancehall Song for Rock My Body, Best Female Artist West Africa and Most Promising African Artist of the Continent. The ceremony is expected to take place in Lagos in December.

Noughts and Exes to Release Album Globally
Noughts and Exes is set to release their self-titled album to the US & Global Markets on December 1st. "Noughts and Exes" will be available through CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes with a special Cyber Monday launch. Noughts and Exes is the critically acclaimed indie folk rock band out of Hong Kong that TIME Magazine named one of the "Top 5 Bands to Watch" in 2011. Noughts and Exes is the brain child of Joshua Wong, who first started the band in its original incarnation in 2007. They went through several lineup changes and have settled on an eclectic international mix of talented musicians. Wong is originally from Australia and moved to Hong Kong at age 16 after visiting and being positively impacted by the culture. He started playing music a few years later at age 19 because he wanted to start a band that stayed around in the ever changing Hong Kong music scene. Noughts and Exes came to be in large part because the culturally diverse nature of the Indie music scene lends itself to the collaborative process.
Bigger Picture
The current Noughts and Exes lineup consists of Joshua Wong, guitar/vocals (Australia), Gideon So, keyboard (Canada), Alex Bedwell, drums (UK), and Alix Farquhar, vocals/percussion/glockenspiel (UK). The essence of the band is truly an international mish mash - and it works beautifully. The band members all bring their own life experiences to the table and the Third Culture aspect of Hong Kong contributes almost as another voice. These four talents from all over the world converged in a city that is rich in Asian heritage and has a major Western influence - not wholly one or the other. The climate was ripe for Noughts and Exes to become a part of the growth and excitement of the Indie music scene; writing about their lives and cultural observations to tell stories of people all their own. Now they are sharing with the rest of the world.
"We have always wanted to get our music are wider international audience, firstly because we just believe in the music and would love to share with as many people as possible, but also because we really believe there is some great independent music coming out of Asia and are excited to share that with the rest of the world." (Joshua Wong)
Heart to Hearts
The band has indeed started reaching the rest of the world - their performance video "Hearts" was filmed in Hong Kong’s Times Square to showcase the Indie music scene. It was shot with the help of numerous other musicians and gives good insight into how a coming together of talents can work in the face of challenge. The piece was never meant to be a commentary on how public artistic expression is stifled in Hong Kong, but it has become just that, with over 70,000 hits on YouTube in the first week. The global launch of their new album ties in perfectly with the international point of view Noughts and Exes has. They know that telling stories of people has nothing to do with where you live - it’s all about reaching out across the miles and touching mankind.

International Sensation Finds Artistic Freedom and Gives Hope to Youth of a Nation
Myanmar's #1 Pop artist is now making her presence known in the United States. Ah Moon (Lung Sitt Ja Moon) grew up in the terribly poor and conflicted Burma. She found her spirit to survive in singing, playing piano, violin and acting at an early age. Through the years of brutal military rule, to now a (somewhat) democratic society, she never stopped pursuing her dream to become an international artist.
Her first project, the Me N Ma Girls, attracted scores of international press stories, and even a critically acclaimed documentary film (Nikki and the Tiger Girls). Now her focus is on her solo career. Her recently released, solo album 'Min Pay Tae A Chit," is comprised of both Burmese and English songs. In a matter of weeks, the album is selling out across the country of Myanmar. Her most recent video release, "Cheap Sunglasses" has received over 11,000 YouTube plays in a little over a week.
Ah Moon's is an affable young woman of 23 years, speaks 5 languages, and is extremely active in charity organizations. Specifically admirable are her efforts with the World Wide Orphans Foundation, support for Myanmar's Orphans, and the homeless shelters throughout her country. Ah Moon can be looked at as a true role model to the young women of Myanmar.

Luna Chica Records International Launches With Diverse Roster, Progressive Business Model
Website: http://www.lunachicarecords.com
(Nashville, Tenn. - June 8, 2010) New independent record label, Luna Chica Records International, has officially opened its doors in Nashville with a fearlessly diverse roster of artists and a contemporary approach to traditional music business practices.
"In today's digital age, we have to completely switch gears when thinking about music and the business of music," says Brenda Cline, Luna Chica Records General Manager/A&R Director. "We are prepared to do that and we are doing that. We're not bogged down in rhetoric and red tape. We make decisions and move quickly."
With emphasis on targeted Internet marketing, digital distribution and online sales, Luna Chica Record's business model typically offers artists more flexibility and a larger percentage of established and emerging revenue streams than conventional record label contracts. Through its strategic partnerships, the label is able to offer a full range of artist services, including video production, artist and songwriter development, sales and distribution, record production, new media marketing, career consultation and more.
Luna Chica's debut roster includes all-star Country and Americana outfit, Burrito Deluxe, hard rock band Hip Kitty, Contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Tommy Job and the label's newest signing, Memphis rocker Ty Crook.
"We are going back to the way labels used to operate," says Cline. "They used to go out and scout talent and develop it. Artists used to be judged on their talent, not their age. Being uniquely different was an asset for an artist, and we think it still is. LCR will seek out unique, great music and give fans something that they want, not something they are force-fed. Artists understand our concept and find it very refreshing."
Founded by Colorado businessman and music entrepreneur Paige Cofrin, Luna Chica Records International is staffed by a host of music industry veterans, led by General Manager and A&R Director Brenda Cline. Cline, former owner of artist development company Artist Concepts and management and development company NashRock Entertainment, oversees all day-to-day label operations.

Mac Dividinz Gets Set Up With Sunset Urban With Their Debut International Release Of Hypersonic!
Website: http://www.macdividinz.sunseturban.com/
Mac Dividinz gets set up with Sunset Urban with their debut international release of Hypersonic!
Hypersonic is the debut CD by Mac Dividinz being released at Sunset Urban.
Some veteran rap and hip-hop aficionados have articulated many concerns over the direction of hardcore rap in the recent years and dating back to the early 90's. Their argument is that hardcore rap told a story with a heavy conscience in the '80s, and then rap segued to talking about their own bling while they dove in sports cars pitting east coast and west coast rappers proudly referring to their own selves as, a "thug" while smoking blunts surrounded by "bitches, hoes, and hotties shaking big booties." However, in today's world, rap can be very positive and uplifting with MCs and popular rap bands like the Roots, Too $hort, Public Enemy, Common, Eminem, Ice T, Blackalicious as well as other rappers that sing with that hardcore and style that is very much in your face. Mac Dividinz's debut album, Hypersonic, is no doubt hardcore and no doubt in your face from beginning to end of this CD. The Oklahoma-based rapper was a teen when he initially started rapping music while today; his songs have grown to be very accessible to any audience that loves rap music. He speaks about socio concerns in a very severe way.
For instance with the initial single being worked to the urban radio format to stations all over the world, "I Got This" communicates an accessible story geared to grab anyone from any socio environment. Hypersonic is not an album filled with songs with words that are making an attempt to save the world, "but he is no doubt sending a huge message to the world," says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Urban. (Don) Lichterman goes on to say that it's a "tribute to his (Mac Dividinz) talent and that he loves what he does with rapping his music" and that Sunset Urban is releasing a "serious rap album that is an unprecedented 67 minutes long CD." The Mac Dividinz debut album a quintessential down and dirty rap album that will overwhelm rap music lovers with the "in your face" style and "in your face" music theme. "(Mac) Dividinz is not reinventing the wheel so to speak," says (Don Lichterman from Sunset, "it is one the best rap albums from beginning to end in a very long time and I mean every song on Hypersonic is a top level." The overall beat coupled with his rap, is contagious, deep and is very strong music. (Mac) Dividinz has great melodies with catchy hooks on every song. The sixteen (16) songs on the Hypersonic CD is an entertaining example of down home hardcore rap music.
Born David Jones and raised in Oklahoma, USA, (Mac) Dividinz grew up with an eye on his artist career. As a teen, he followed the lead of his influences growing up by writing and performing on his own, until he eventually sent in the "raps" to (Don) Lichterman at Sunset Urban. Bothe Sunset and Dividinz feel this is the perfect fit considering the career of Mac (Dividinz) and with Sunset Urban, the hip hop and rap label at Sunset. "I was so impressed with his rap, it took me days to close that deal," says Lichterman whom signed the up and coming rap artist to his Sunset Urban Record label. The label had initially hope to get it out this year but considering the length of the full length CD and its sixteen (16) songs; it was worth waiting until the street day in 2010 on January 26th.
