The Features & Kerchief Play JJ's Bohemia On November 14th, 2015

Surpassing its initial D.I.Y. movement and becoming a more defined sound, Indie Rock has evolved. Moreover, music lovers around and between the typical big market outlets are rapidly advancing the support of live music nationwide. Following years of breakthrough acts with shoe- string budgets and unique social media strategy, an overall unyielding attitude has fueled the raw performance of the indie rock character we know today.

One of the country's many small clubs whose reputation serves the indie rock scene is JJ's Bo- hemia in Chattanooga, TN. They've hosted shows for nearly a decade featuring local unknowns and national touring acts alike, such as Alabama Shakes, Deer Hunter, Portugal the Man, Of Montreal and many others.

JJ's will continue its support of quality acts of all sizes by hosting The Features with 825 Records' artist Kerchief on Saturday, November 14th. Commercially known from their licensing placements for Ford and the Twilight Saga's soundtrack, The Features' extensive touring history since 1994 has landed them on major stages around the world. They are currently touring the na- tion promoting their upcoming album, which can be pre-ordered via Pledge Music now.

Kerchief, an indie rock trio fronted by former Vanity Theft guitarist Britt Hill has called JJ's a home for her new project since relocating to Chattanooga from Dayton, OH. After releasing her debut album, Machines And Animals, this past Summer, Kerchief has stirred up indie rock crit- ics and blogs with her unadulterated drive. Following a 20+ city summer tour, Kerchief's second single "Jack London" has garnered attention from the likes of OUT Magazine, Nooga.com, Ghet- toblaster, Curve Magazine, and Music Connection. All of whom have agreed Kerchief's Britt Hill has a well-bred attitude brimming with substance, both musically and lyrically.

Catch The Features with Kerchief at JJ's Bohemia in Chattanooga, TN. Saturday, November 14th. Doors open at 9 pm (All shows 21+).

Maverick Musician Touring The USA, Guerrilla Style

Indie Soul Rock Singer-Songwriter Shanta Paloma has spontaneously set out on a national tour to bring music to people of America, where they are at — their venues, their streets, and their computers. With unconventional strategy, she is stopping in approximately 20 major cities across the USA to play her music wherever she can. Some shows and festivals are scheduled. Others are on the fly. Armed with a guitar and a GoPro action camera, Shanta has been videotaping her journey and releasing a rockumentary series.

This adventure is being shared via Paloma’s Youtube Channel: www.Youtube.com/ShantaPaloma and her website, www.ShantaPaloma.com.

According to Shanta, the whole project is a demonstration not only on following one’s bliss, but also on how the music industry has changed so drastically since social media networks and online distribution. Paloma said, "The music industry rules keep changing as fast as it takes us musicians to catch on. Being an independent singer-songwriter means being our own PR reps, booking agents, marketing firms, managers, promoters, sound guys, roadies and web designers. And that can take away resources from making quality art. Now, more than ever, we artists must create something out of nothing because there are the rules that never change — share good music. Why can’t it be just as simple as that? I believe in sharing resources and my songs are what I have to offer."

Maverick musician Shanta Paloma embarked on her unconventional tour on October 4th, 2015, in Boston, Massachusetts. Solo, she is driving northwest, down California and then back to New England, via the southern route. For up to date information on where and when Shanta will be touring, visit her website often: www.ShantaPaloma.com. Out Magazine & 825 Records Premiere New Kerchief Music Video & Single

While Kerchief's LP Machines and Animals bears no title track, the sophomore single "Jack London" lends a fitting summary of the entire 11-song debut. Formerly of the indie band Vanity Theft, Britt Hill cuts through with the poetically relatable and compelling edge that has grabbed the attention of critics and fans alike since the album's mid-summer release.

A dynamic composition tensely contained by its recurrent low-end hypnosis with a cumulating burst from a boundless wall of sound set the perfect tone, tying an underlying story of a creative person's journey from angst to ease. Distinguished drum patterns contributed by producer Matty Amendola, alongside Hill's experimental melodic guitar arrangements, will have audiophiles hitting the repeat button while satisfying the first-time listener with its engaging hook.

The single, joined by its accompanying music video directed by Andy Strohl, premieres on OUT Maga- zine’s website today, with a broadcast debut on THECOOLTV network to follow. Kerchief's sound, pre- viously characterized as "fortified by straightforward lyrics that still leave spaces for a listener’s imagina- tion" (by June Tunes Digest), intuited the intention behind the cinematically produced video. Unexpected twists and turns with unprecedented artful attention won't be allowed to go unnoticed.

"Jack London", slated as a firm follow-up to Kerchief’s 20 city summer tour, is sure to serve the indie rock culture of discovery and whet the appetite of any true music connoisseur.

Indie Act Automatik Eden Garner Rave Reviews For Both Ep And Video With Their New Release "Gold To Straw"

http://mi2n.com/press.php3?press_nb=179836

Produced by Sean Beavan (NIN, Gwen Stefani), Automatik Eden Follow-up Their Self-titled CD with a Strong New Video and Five Song EP

Los Angeles, CA – One doesn't have to work in the music business to know how competitive and difficult it can be navigating the constant flux of an industry that is ever-changing.

Many musicians are looking for a way to carve a path into a trade that is relentless. Of course it only makes sense that the best way to gain notoriety is to have the necessary talent to do so. Fortunately Cela Scott and David Crocco of Automatik Eden possess that rare talent.

Add to this mix the creative abilities of a top-notch producer such as Sean Beavan and you have a sensation waiting to happen!

Cela and David also have strong credentials. Cela (composer, vocalist, guitar) attended the esteemed University of Southern California's BFA Acting program and landed a spot in the coveted conservatory school.

Her acting and singing career has taken her to many a featured role including a principal part in the latest pilot for the Star Trek series, Star Trek: Renegades. It should also be noted that AE's captivating tune, "Captain of My Soul" is the title track for the project.

Besides being a gifted instrumentalist and song-writer, David (vocals, guitar, bass, drums) has also worked behind the scenes…his post-production engineering skills have been utilized by many a music icon including the likes of Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Nickelback and System Of A Down.

Whilst listening to the beautiful lyricism of "Gold to Straw" one might be tempted to make comparisons to other impressive female performers – a little Chrissie Hynde mixed with a touch of Lana Del Rey – but make no mistake, Automatik Eden's music is distinctly their own. Just ask the well-known Los Angeles music magazine, Music Connection.

The journal stated: "In the dreamy, eerie outing, mixed by Sean Beavan (NIN), you can practically hear the song in a David Fincher soundtrack. AE seem to have the potential to exceed their influences."

The accompanying video for "Gold To Straw" is also considered somewhat of a work of art. Filmed by acclaimed director, Christopher Jelley ("La Nature Morte d'Un Flic"), the sensual and dreamy atmosphere is a throwback to the golden era of European film directors such as Bertolucci, De Sica and Fassbinder.

Cela and David sum things up well, by saying: "The common thread to the artists we love is that they found a way to be original and approach their music more as an art form than a formula. That is our tactic." states David. Cela adds, "The music and musicians we admire had a vision and expressed a way of life…a certain freedom on a higher level."

The two strive to keep an open dialogue with their audience. They make a sincere effort not only to provoke and test, but to inspire. With their strong musical foundation and great perspective, success for Automatik Eden can only be just around the corner.

Their CD is available on iTunes. Official web site: www.automatikeden.com

Noughts and Exes to Release Album Globally

http://mi2n.com/press.php3?press_nb=179459

Noughts and Exes is set to release their self-titled album to the US & Global Markets on December 1st. "Noughts and Exes" will be available through CD Baby, Amazon and iTunes with a special Cyber Monday launch. Noughts and Exes is the critically acclaimed indie folk rock band out of Hong Kong that TIME Magazine named one of the "Top 5 Bands to Watch" in 2011. Noughts and Exes is the brain child of Joshua Wong, who first started the band in its original incarnation in 2007. They went through several lineup changes and have settled on an eclectic international mix of talented musicians. Wong is originally from Australia and moved to Hong Kong at age 16 after visiting and being positively impacted by the culture. He started playing music a few years later at age 19 because he wanted to start a band that stayed around in the ever changing Hong Kong music scene. Noughts and Exes came to be in large part because the culturally diverse nature of the Indie music scene lends itself to the collaborative process.

Bigger Picture
The current Noughts and Exes lineup consists of Joshua Wong, guitar/vocals (Australia), Gideon So, keyboard (Canada), Alex Bedwell, drums (UK), and Alix Farquhar, vocals/percussion/glockenspiel (UK). The essence of the band is truly an international mish mash - and it works beautifully. The band members all bring their own life experiences to the table and the Third Culture aspect of Hong Kong contributes almost as another voice. These four talents from all over the world converged in a city that is rich in Asian heritage and has a major Western influence - not wholly one or the other. The climate was ripe for Noughts and Exes to become a part of the growth and excitement of the Indie music scene; writing about their lives and cultural observations to tell stories of people all their own. Now they are sharing with the rest of the world.

"We have always wanted to get our music are wider international audience, firstly because we just believe in the music and would love to share with as many people as possible, but also because we really believe there is some great independent music coming out of Asia and are excited to share that with the rest of the world." (Joshua Wong)

Heart to Hearts
The band has indeed started reaching the rest of the world - their performance video "Hearts" was filmed in Hong Kong’s Times Square to showcase the Indie music scene. It was shot with the help of numerous other musicians and gives good insight into how a coming together of talents can work in the face of challenge. The piece was never meant to be a commentary on how public artistic expression is stifled in Hong Kong, but it has become just that, with over 70,000 hits on YouTube in the first week. The global launch of their new album ties in perfectly with the international point of view Noughts and Exes has. They know that telling stories of people has nothing to do with where you live - it’s all about reaching out across the miles and touching mankind.

Hip Hop + Electronica + Indie Rock = Record Producer JDVisionquest3000

Los Angeles based record producer Joe Dancsak, a.k.a. JDVisionquest3000 has been making his mark in hip hop and electronic music lately, both on the west coast and in the Midwest.

By releasing a string of singles by Ohio rapper Nate Sylak through www.jdvisionquest3000.com, and using free social media sites such as Reverbnation, Dancsak has begun making a name for himself. Dancsak is currently ranked high in the Reverbnation Electronica charts for L.A. coming in at #44, and building an audience numbering over 100,000 in the process.

Dancsak has released 3 singles by Sylak, “Janie’s Song”, “One By One”, and “Superhigh”, all available at his website and Sylak‘s social media sites. Dancsak uses elements of electronica and indie rock music in his hip hop productions, lending a unique style to his sound.

The singles follow closely an appearance by Sylak, who is signed to Dancsak’s soon to be launched 3000 Music, on the Dr. Dre tribute album “The Chronic: A Millennium Tribute to the Songs of Dr. Dre”. Dan Hyman of the L.A. Weekly blog sited Sylak as the “…lone hero of the album…. This Sylak dude kills it, and he’s definitely worth a listen.” Hyman also wrote, “This Nate Sylak dude is easily the breakout artist of the album." The album was subsequently streamed off Dre’s Aftermath website, affording Sylak wide exposure.

In addition, Dancsak was quoted in Buzzbin Magazine’s feature on Sylak, “Nate Sylak Makes His Own Noise,” a story about Sylak’s increasing popularity in the Ohio region and the state of the music industry. Dancsak is quoted as Sylak’s producer and as an informative source in the music trade. Journalist Chris Wig writes “…His L.A. based producer, Dancsak, believes that this latest development in Sylak’s career is indicative of larger structural changes within the music industry. While the producer of an emerging artist can provide beats, production, and guidance, the artist provides the hard work..” In that regard, Nate doesn’t stop,” Dancsak said. “The gun slinging aspect of rap has turned into how much product can an artist put out and keep the quality level high while they do it….”
