Killer Tracks Delivers The Music For A NASA Moon Video

Killer Tracks, a Universal Publishing Production Music Company, supplied the otherworldly soundscape for a new video from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) mission that reveals Earth's nearest neighbor as it's never been seen before. Titled Tour of the Moon in 4K, the video features breathtaking flybys of more than a half dozen sites on the Moon's surface produced from data gathered by LRO and set to the ethereal rhythm of Never Looking Back, a track from the Killer Tracks library composed by Frederik Wiedmann and Joel Goodman.

The video presents incredibly detailed renderings of the structure and features of the Moon's exterior, including the Orientale Basin, a nearly 600-mile wide impact crater formed 3.8 billion years ago. The reason the imagery looks so real, according to David Ladd, the producer at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, is it's a full 3D model of the Moon built entirely from actual LRO data, rather than being just an artistic approximation. Ernest T. Wright, a science data visualizer at NASA, constructed the lunar imagery from several data sets. "That's why this video is so fascinating and awe-inspiring," Ladd says. "We are getting a look at the lunar surface and information about what is under it in an all-new way."

Ladd searched the Killer Track library for music for the piece and says that Never Looking Back reflected the same sense of "awe" provoked by the videos. "The choice of music can make or break a project," he observes. "It can engage the audience or turn them away."

Never Looking Back was written and produced by Wiedmann and Goodman earlier this year for their trailer music company ICON, which licenses its music through Killer Tracks. Wiedmann, who won an Emmy Award for his score for the animated series All Hail King Julien, describes the track as electronic ambient and notes that it features unusual instrumentation. The theme is carried by a guitarviol, a handmade hybrid of a guitar and a violin, played with a bow. "It has a modern sound and epic feel that evokes mystery and a curiosity for the unknown," he says.

NASA released Tour of the Moon in 4K on its websites and social media platforms. It's topped 2 million views on NASA's YouTube page and has been featured on CNN, Space.com, Thrillist.com, EarthSky.org, Mashable.com, BGR.com and TheSun.co.uk, among other sites. "It will also be used at science conferences, in schools, museums and at public outreach events," notes Ladd. "It's meant to educate, inform and inspire. We not only want to share and explain science information, but we hope to encourage others to engage in scientific pursuits and arouse a passion for exploring our universe."

Composer Joel Goodman says that when he and Wiedmann were working on Never Looking Back, they had no idea it would be employed by NASA, but adds they are delighted to be part of the unique project. "When we compose music, we often don't know how it will be used; we start with an idea and see where it takes us," he says. "We're often surprised by how others interpret our work. That's one of the great things about music."

Killer Tracks Launches BLOCK and Sound Pocket Labels in the U.S.

Killer Tracks, one of the world's leading producers of pre-cleared production music, is introducing two new labels to the U.S. production market featuring the work of some of the best up-and-coming music talent from the UK and beyond.

BLOCK, created in partnership with renowned urban and hip-hop management firm London Boy Entertainment and launched in the UK by Universal Publishing Production Music, draws on the urban scenes in England and the United States to produce hip-hop flavored tracks crafted for television, film, radio and advertising. The label's initial plans are for a series of releases featuring work from artists on the LBE roster including Tiago, Alan Sampson, ADB and Charles Drew.

Sound Pocket Music was created by a team of top British music supervisors with deep experience in television, independent film and advertising. Its releases feature specially commissioned tracks spanning a range of genres and styles including orchestral, cinematic, acoustic, pop, electronica and emotional. Soundtrack composers/producers on its roster include Aaron Wheeler (Being Human), Louise Dowd (The Chatroom), Sam Hooper (The Fallen), Ben Parsons (Kings of the Wild), Lennert Busch (Room 8) and Stephen McKeon (The Clinic).

"We are very excited to bring these two labels to the U.S. as each represents a slate of artists who are pushing boundaries and creating new sounds," said Andrew Donahue, Killer Tracks Director of Marketing. "BLOCK is a great source for authentic, high quality urban beats. Their writers are working with high profile recording artists and labels around the world. Sound Pocket represents talented, young British music supervisors and composers who bring fresh energy, and know how to write for the screen."

LBE Managing Director Sef Naqui calls the partnership with Killer Tracks an opportunity to introduce the label's artists to storytellers worldwide. "It creates the potential for great media coverage for our incredible artists," he says. "And for Killer Tracks clients, it means access to music from the next big urban artists before they break."

Killer Tracks has enjoyed tremendous success in introducing independent labels to the U.S. production music market. Last year, it launched Volta Music, a boutique trailer music label that has generated music placements in the Showtime series Billions, ads for ICON Motorsports, Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights, and the video game WWE2K.

Killer Tracks will be showcasing new releases from BLOCK, Sound Pocket Music and the rest of its premium catalog at NAB (Booth SL 7616) April 18-21 in Las Vegas. On April 20 at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., Blue-eyed soul singer Luke McMaster will also give a special live performance at the Killer Tracks booth showcasing songs from his album, I Feel Alive, the latest release in Killer Tracks' groundbreaking Artists Series.

MarilynMusic Upgrades Their Website While Continuing To Bring Exciting New Talent Into The Fold

MarilynMusic is happy to announce we have just upgraded our website, incorporating a great looking new audio player that provides a more user friendly experience. Like everyone else we had to abandon Flash, and rewrite the site using HTML 5. The new player has a very convenient seek function and volume controls. In addition, our licensing page has been streamlined, simplifying the process. We encourage all of our fans to visit MarilynMusic.net, check out the site, and let us know what you think.

We have recently taken a step in a new direction by adding several Country songs to our catalogue. "You Loved Me Best" and "By Your Side", feature the great country singer/songwriter Sera Burus. "Coulda Fooled Me" and "Don't Let Em Kick The Hick Outta You" are two fun, crossover Pop Country hits that just need the right country artist. So we're heading down to Nashville to meet with and record some up and coming talented country singers.

We've also just added several tracks featuring a great new young artist named Brennyn Lark, who is currently starring in "Les Miserables" on Broadway. " Brennyn is an amazingly mature and gifted talent with real superstar potential," says MarilynMusic's Casey Conrad.

We've also been working with New York singer/songwriter Jay Stolar who has a great solo career including a Billboard top 50 charting song and over five hundred thousand views on You Tube of his song "My Own Way". "His tremendous stage presence, along with a powerful and commercial voice make him an artist we wanted to work with," says Michael Gaines of MarilynMusic. " "I saw him perform at the Hotel Cafe in L.A. and he had the whole club on their feet, singing to his music." Gaines says. He can be heard on two new Gaines/Conrad songs, "I'm Gonna Hold You" and "Can You Love Me Better."

MarilynMusic continues to expand our catalogue, writing and producing the best songs, working with the best talent.

SongCat Forges Ahead With New Alliances: Partners With Grammy-Winning Engineer Miles Walker And The Annual 'International Songwriting Competition'

Groundbreaking song demo and music production studio SongCat LLC, is amping its innovation of the modern music industry with a number of newly announced initiatives, alongside its latest customer survey—which continues to demonstrate its overwhelming satisfaction in the marketplace.

Founded in 2014, the firm offers burgeoning and established songwriters, lyricists, composers, musicians, performers and artists access to its hand-picked team of professional session musicians and audio engineers to produce full-bodied tracks—from arranging through mastering.

SongCat™ also provides such services as songwriter demos, music production, audio mixing & mastering, and session singers & musicians. It is the only online production studio to offer a money back guarantee, based on independent reviews.

NEXT UP: GRAMMY WINNING ENGINEER & GLOBAL ISC COMPETITION

Among new alliances, SongCat has forged a collaboration with five-time Grammy-winning Engineer Miles Walker, while it is now also integrally involved in the acclaimed annual International Songwriting Competition.

Walker's exhaustive list of mixing and engineering credits includes countless hits and multi-platinum records around the world. He has worked with the likes of Ne-Yo, Beyonce, Rihanna, Wiz Khalifa, Iggy Azalea, Depeche Mode and Usher. Walker earned a Magna Cum Laude degree from the world-renowned Berklee College of Music. For SongCat, he will provide Grammy-standard mixes for its clientele.

"We couldn't be happier to have Miles on board as part of our prize-winning team," says Chris Erhardt, CEO and producer of SongCat. "Our productions are mixed digitally to the highest, radio-ready standards by our in-house audio engineers, however, some clients now need more than we have previously been able to offer. Miles is certainly among the leading industry pros when it comes to mixing."

The International Songwriting Competition's (ISC) partnership with SongCat gives the annual contest a valuable teammate in offering its five-dozen prize-winning acts the opportunity to have their demos and/or rough songs professionally arranged, engineered & mastered with pro musicians. ISC's mission is to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels and to promote excellence in the art of songwriting.

Erhardt adds: "We are excited to partner with such a respected leader among songwriting competitions. With ISC's global reach, we now are able to help its winners reach the world with their songs, which already have traction in storming the global music charts, much like this year's winner Vance Joyce."

SURVEY SAYS…
SongCat has also recently completed its latest Client Satisfaction Survey, which it conducts every 6 months as a benchmark of its services. In May, it surveyed responses for 115 produced songs—garnering a stellar average rating of 4.65 out of 5. The survey also revealed that 96% of its produced songs were ranked "higher quality" than any of SongCat's potential competitors.

"While these ratings exceeded our expectations, we can always improve upon our services," Erhardt says. "We've added new session singers and musicians so we can now create the same standard for country and rock as we have for pop productions. As we continue to survey the needs of our customers, we are only going to grow stronger as the go-to destination for complete production services."

Are You A Professional Musician Or Talented Composer? Help Xhail Find You

Xhail, the next generation of production music, is currently recruiting talented composers and professional musicians for publishing deals that provide real income opportunities licensing music for TV, film, video, advertising, video game and other media productions.

"Xhail technology is a bridge between professional music creators and customers," said Mick Kiely, CEO of Xhail. "Composers need to sell their music and customers need music for their productions. Xhail is the solution for both as it creates a new income stream for composers and gives customers a fast and flexible way to incorporate professional music into their media productions – a true win-win."

Xhail introduces a new model for production music. In the past, customers would sift through endless stock music library files searching for the right style, length, fit, feel, instrumentation, and arrangement for their media production. This could be a long, tedious, and expensive task with little control over the final product.

"Xhail is a fantastic piece of software that really bridges work flows between the visual and musical mediums," says Alex Sherwood, Director at Giant Animation.

With Xhail, music compositions are deconstructed into "stems" or parts, which the technology matches to descriptive tags input by the customer to create a unique musical cue. The customer can then freely exchange parts, add or subtract parts, arrange and mix the piece, and sync it to video, all in real-time through an easy-to-use online portal. Once complete, the customer pays a license fee for the finished piece to use in their media production.

Each time a composer's work is licensed to a customer, Xhail pays the composer. The more a composer's work is licensed, the more they make.

"Since Xhail is based on real recordings by real musicians, it requires a wide range of compositions in virtually every conceivable musical genre," said Kevin Whyms, Xhail's Lead Composer. "It's this deconstruction of music down to single instrument performances that provides opportunities for talented musicians with compositional skills who have the ability to record their performances and want to earn money with their music."

"Absolutely incredible. A breakthrough technology that opens the doors of the Production Music world to great instrumentalists," adds Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Carlos de Andrade of Visom Digital. "Musicians have been waiting for this!"

Professional and talented composers and musicians with examples of their work and the ability to create quality recordings of their music are encouraged to apply at http://www.xhail.com/composers-musicians/.

Join the Xhail conversation on Facebook and Twitter.

Meet Bros Anjjan Rally And Remix On The Success Of Kyaa Super Cool Hain Hum

Mumbai based, award wining bollywood music director trio 'Meet Bros Anjjan' recently gave the Bollywood industry three blockbuster hit tracks for the Balaji Motion Pictures produced film, 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum'. In conjunction with the release of the movie, Meet Bros Anjaan remixed 'Teri Shirt da Button', which was one of the films’s highlighted tracks. Accompanying the remix is the music video filled with an all star cast. Indian Television celebrities like Karan Mehra from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Karishma Tanna, Host and Tv actress and Vivian from 'Pyaar Ki Ek Kahaani' and "Madhubala" are some of the familiar faces that can be seen enjoying the remix beats. T-series is currently hosting the popular video on their Youtube channel.

After the success of both the versions of "Shirt da Button" by Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher, Meet Bros Anjjan have come up with an upbeat version in their voices. Working for the popular production house was no small feat considering the esteemed producer of the film, "Ekta Kapoor". According to Meet Bros Anjjan, "She’s a very a tough person to sell to, she sifted through the 60-70 songs we played for her and included some of her favorites in the film.” The film included the songs "Teri Shirt da Button", "Hum Toh Hain Cappucino" and "Volume High", which have been quickly ascending in the music charts.

Meet Bros Anjjan have also captured the fandom of one of the film’s heroes, Rithesh Deshmukh. The actor was inspired to sing a marathi version of the film’s title track "Hum Toh Hain Cappucino". Thanks to a little creative thinking from Meet Bros Anjjan, Ritesh had the opportunity to sing some of the song’s pivotal parts in Marathi, his mother tongue. "He was a little shy first but then we convinced him to sing and make his debut with us", mentioned Meet Bros Anjjan. What resulted was a second version of the song, translated completely in Marathi by Ritesh himself and an accompanying YouTube video which Ritesh stars and sings in.

In a short time, Meet Bros Anjjan have achieved an enviable amount of success, as both first-rate performers and highly in-demand music directors. Meet bros and Anjjan have authored a number of hit songs, such as "Jogi Singh", and award winning compositions over the years for films such as "Do Dooni Chaar" and Rajshri Production’s "Isi Life Mein" for which they were presented with the Stardust award for "Best Standout Performance by Music Director". Additionally, they've scored for Akshay Kumar’s "Speedy Singh", UTV’s "Paan Singh Tomar" along with Sanjay Dutt and Raj Kundra’s ongoing SFL title track and now with Balaji’s "Kya Super Kool Hain Hum". Meet Bros Anjjan have once again succeeded in show-casing their creativity with this new body of work and are raring to go at the other 8 big banner films currenlty on floor.

Pro Soul Alliance Launches Music Production, Mixing, Mastering, Promotion & Distribution Services In China

China is a huge, emerging market for the music industry, but currently in it’s infancy, and still immature. Professional assistance is desperately needed due to crippling discouragement Chinese artists have, attributed to the pervasive downloading of music. There is also a huge lack of ‘official’ presence for foreign artists who are becoming very popular in China. partly due to the challenges of representing themselves in this daunting market. That means huge opportunity for those willing to support, develop and nurture music in China.

At the end of 2011, Pro Soul Alliance announced a new world class recording and production studio in Beijing as our first step. Now we are offering promotion, marketing, sales and distribution both within China and outside to our existing artists and Chinese artists through our local office in Beijing. Unlike other companies offering music services in China, we are based within China, and our local office is staffed with bilingual locals who know the market and culture, and have experience working with Chinese and international artists here.

Our company has been legally registered as a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise in China under the name ‘敬真堂(北京)文化咨询有限公司’ Which translates to ‘Respect Truth (Beijing) Culture Consultancy Co. Ltd.’

Because China is a complex and daunting market for a foreign company, we are starting out with the following basic range of services:

For Chinese artists:
- Focusing on getting Chinese artists who are ready exposure internationally
- Getting international distribution and sales for Chinese music (iTunes, Spotify, Nokia)
- Promotion and marketing for Chinese artists overseas by connecting with interested markets and fans

For International Artists:
- Digital distribution for international artists in China (including essential mobile stores China Mobile, Unicom, Telecom)
- Promotion and marketing in China focusing on key social networking sites like Weibo, Douban, Youku
- Collaboration with Chinese artists and recording traditional Chinese instruments with local professionals

As we continue researching the industry and experimenting with new techniques for promotion and marketing music in China, we will also be offering licensing for Chinese music internationally in Film, TV, and online, expanding their revenue sources. We will also assist Chinese artists who are ready to create their own business and develop music career in China to maximize their profit and control. Of course we will also be able to assist international artists book shows and organize tours in China in future.

We have already begun assisting international artists Elika Mahony, and Hart as well as Chinese artist Abominati get exposure in China.

You can sign up right now for promotion, marketing and distribution in China with the ‘Professional Artist Management and Consulting Asia’ option on the Get Started section of our website at www.prosoul.com. For artists within China, we have a new website in Chinese with a helpful blog focused on the local market.

After "Chillin" At Coachella, And Meetings On The Paramount Lot MarilynMusic Heads Back To NYC To Work On Their Ever Expanding Catalogue

MarilynMusic's Michael Gaines and Casey Conrad braved crowds of over one hundred thousand people and one hundred seven degree desert sun to experience the unique three day music marathon, known as Coachella 2012. "We felt right at home during the entire 3 days, surrounded by nonstop music and an endless parade of partying people." said Gaines. "It's was like an amusement park but instead of rides there's great music," observed Conrad, who flew in from New York. Conrad's trip also included meetings on the Paramount lot with legendary producer Gene Kirkwood, ("Rocky," "Pope of Greenwich Village,") to discuss an upcoming film project with MarilynMusic. "It's great to be involved with Gene again whom I've learned a great deal from having worked on several of his pictures. Gene understands the crucial link between music and film, and has expressed great confidence in what MarilynMusic has to offer the movie business." said Gaines. Back at MarilynMusic's NYC studio The Vertical Room, Conrad is busy finishing the mix on a new track titled "Be My Muse" featuring singer songwriter Zane Carney. He's also lead guitarist for the broadway show "Spiderman Turn Off The Dark", as well as the band "Carney" with his brother Reeve who happens to also star as Spiderman. "Zane is a great guitar player and singer we've worked with before and we're excited to feature his voice on our tunes," commented Conrad. MarilynMusic's Casey Conrad is also in the middle of producing an album for singer/songwriter Joanne Perica. A close friend and collaborator on numerous tunes, Perica recently completed the song "Bones" with Sony/ATV artist Thom Crawford, produced by Sacha Skarbek, (Adele,Train, Jason Mraz) and featured in an upcoming film Called "For No Good Reason" with Johnny Depp. "Joanne's record is a strong emotional statement, we're taking our time exploring several musical genres and it will be well worth the wait," said Conrad." There are some very talented musicians on this record including Gary Haase, Karen Cole, Jeff Mironov, Zane Carney, Phil Hamilton... There may also be some truly great guest stars featured. Names discussed include singer/songwriting juggernaut Sera Burus, (recently signed to Sony by L.A. Reid). Perica's record is due out in the fall. MarilynMusic's Michael Gaines is back in NYC to continue his collaboration with Conrad on their ever expanding song catalogue. They also recently got together with good friend and colleague, well respected writer/prod Gary Haase and made a licensing agreement to offer a significant selection of tracks from Haase's catalogue on MarilynMusic.net. "We're excited to have a talent of Gary's caliber associated with MarilynMusic." Gaines concluded.
