ArtistMax To Present Three-Day Artist Development Sessions At LA's Legendary Village Studios

ArtistMax is pleased to announce a special three-day weekend artist development session, to take place June 12-14, 2015 at the world-famous Village Studios in West Los Angeles. Presented by GRAMMY®--winning engineer, producer and author Ken Caillat, (Fleetwood Mac), Sleeping Giant Entertainment and ArtistMax, this intensive development session will provide talented, aspiring artists with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals necessary from the pros for a successful career as recording artist, performer and entertainer in today’s music industry.

Intended as a next step from songwriting and performance schools, ArtistMax offers a real life chance to train with the top music professionals behind the GRAMMY-winning artists of today – top engineers and producers, vocal coaches, image consultants, makeup artists and managers to the stars – at a legendary studio where hundreds of multi-platinum albums were created.

"Many new and up-and-coming artists, songwriters and entertainers don’t know where to go to get professional training and advice to prepare them for today’s competitive entertainment industry," says Ken Caillat. "ArtistMax was created to give these future stars the insight and tools necessary to lead them on the path to success and help them to avoid the proverbial school of hard knocks."

Colbie Caillat adds, "If Artist Max was available when I started performing, it would have made things so much easier for me and the growth of my career. Things like finding the right manager, researching producers and mixers, working with a stage coach, figuring out how to dress and present myself in a way I felt comfortable while standing out and looking like an artist, knowing the equipment I like to use on stage and using in-ear molds and learning how to maintain a healthy lifestyle with an insanely busy schedule. All the information I needed to learn back then is now all in one place -- ArtistMax. From the creative side, to the business side and everything in-between."

The ArtistMax weekend session will explore the keys to becoming a successful artist, including tips from behind-the-scenes expert coaches to stars like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Katharine McPhee, John Legend and many others. Sessions will explore topics including vocals, songwriting, publishing, production and production tools and arrangement. Individual breakout sessions will offer a more in-depth approach with each instructor which focus on the attendee’s needs. One-on-one programs will also offer vocal lessons, personalized image consulting, songwriting assistance, publishing essentials and arrangement assistance.

A special preview event of this June session, "An Afternoon of Artist Development," was recently held during the NAMM Show at the Hilton Anaheim. The event included appearances and panel discussions by a number of noted artists and producers, including GRAMMY®--winning artists and songwriters Colbie Caillat ("Bubbly," "Try," "Brighter than the Sun,") and Toby Gad (Beyoncé, "If I Were a Boy," John Legend, "All of Me").

Registration and auditions are open for the ArtistMax Development Sessions at Village Studios for June 12-13th as well as other dates during the summer. Space is extremely limited. Brooklyn-Based Music Incubator Signs Kerchief To Artist Development & Distribution Deal

(Brooklyn, NY, February 2015) With a well-bred attitude brimming with substance, both musically and lyrically, Kerchief is a welcome departure from what a listener might commonly find from a "twenty-something" female artist on today's Top 40. Kerchief (born Brittany Hill) hails from Ohio, but currently lives in Tennessee, brings a middle America sentimentality and work ethic to her most recent meticulous recording work with producer Matty Amendola.

After calling it quits with her band of seven years, Vanity Theft (Vigilante Music/Adamant Records) Hill's main focus was writing; Towing inspiration from the journey that has led her to where she is today. With five releases, two acclaimed web shows, and worldwide touring history with Hunter Valentine, Taking Back Sunday, and Sick Of Sarah, going solo was a cathartic experience that traced illustrations of what she was going through at that time.

"This album is a chance to connect with all those working so hard to make ends meet and make sense of life, and to remind them to cherish the moment," said Hill. "One day you'll look back and remember what it was like to want to work so hard for something you believed in, and you'll wish you were back there facing the unknown, but doing your best."

Throughout the upcoming album, Hill is commanding attention, asserting herself with the confidence that she needs to be heard. Listeners will not take long the answer the call.

"Machines & Animals" offers tracks that expertly weave Hill's smooth voice with the edge of her songwriting and lyrics. Guitar riffs bite into bass lines that ebb and flow with emotional vocals, taking inspiration from a personal journey. Heavy drum beats and layered guitars articulate the feelings behind stories of the pursuit of finding purpose in life's daily struggles, reflecting an evident influence from ‘90s alternative rock.

"From the writing process to pre-production, to the recording process with producer Matty Amendola, to the finished product, I feel that the songs became fully realized," said Hill. "I never had to bite my tongue. The songs were written from a raw emotional place, experimented with in the studio and brought to their full potential with Matty in Brooklyn, NY. This is the best thing I've done to date."

Amendola knew working with Kerchief would be a perfect fit as soon as he heard her demos. Working closely with engineer and Grammy Award winner Butch Jones, he created a sound that would bring Kerchief's debut album to life.

"What separates this record from the other indie rock out there, is that the songs themselves come first," said Amendola. "It's a rare quality to find an artist who's a real straight shooter and puts so much of her soul into her lyrics, while keeping everything simple and relatable.

After recording with producer Matty Amendola, he brought the full team on board from his music incubator 825 Records and signed Kerchief to an artist development and distribution deal. The first single "Milk & Honey" is slated for a March 24th, 2015 release. Full-length album "Machines & Animals" following in the Spring, as well as a Summer tour with dates to be announced.

Introducing: Complete Control Management

Two former management companies, The Ascot Club and Viceroy Media, have joined forces to start the management company, Complete Control Management.

Headed up by co-presidents Josh Neuman and Michael Cohen, the new company is based in Dumbo, Brooklyn, NYC and will manage the careers of established artists and producers including Tiësto, American Hi-Fi, Cary Brothers, Misstress Barbara, DJ Dan, Stacy Jones, Bill Lefler, WAX LTD (Xandy Barry and Wally Gagel), and Greg Collins, as well as new artists, The Downtown Fiction, Working For a Nuclear Free City, Shuttle and Classixx.

Formerly co-founder and partner of CRUSH Management where he signed Fall Out Boy and American Hi-Fi, Josh Neuman said of the new venture: "It's an extremely exciting time to be an artist manager and I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with such amazing people. In combining our skill sets and resources, I believe that we are going to be able to offer a very compelling model for artists to have long-term success in their careers. We have focused on bringing a team together who all have deep knowledge and experience in online and mobile marketing, as well as traditional artist development skills. Both companies have led the way with innovations in their respective genres: The Ascot Club being a co-founding partner and running the Hotel Cafe Tour, and Viceroy Media, with it's groundbreaking Tiësto/Armani Exchange partnership last year which included tour sponsorship, a clothing line and product endorsement. Combining forces was the logical next move for both."

Michael Cohen said of the announcement: "I couldn't be happier in welcoming The Ascot Club into the fold, and look forward to working closely with them and their artists as we explore exciting new ways to deliver their great music to their fans."

Complete Control will assume worldwide management duties for Dutch global superstar DJ and producer, Tiësto, as well as working closely with his former management company, Prime Time management and its existing staff, who will continue working on the artists day-to-day business.

Cohen and Neuman say of the Dutch team: "Having worked with our Dutch management team for the past two years, it was a no-brainer to combine forces with them into our global activities on behalf of Tiësto. They have done an unbelievable job up to this point in developing Tiësto's career from the clubs of the world to arenas, stadiums and festivals. As we all embark on the next thrilling phase of Tiësto's career together, we will be working closely with them to ensure we build the strongest infrastructure possible to support this business."

Wilfried Dam, Tiësto's business manager says of the working relationship with Prime Time: "I am very happy that we will be working in close co-operation with the team at Complete Control. We very much look forward to working together in the future."

Tijs Verwest, aka Tiësto, says of the merger: "The past year or so has probably been the most exciting of my career to date. Headlining festivals such as Bonnaroo and Coachella, and performing live with artists such as Tegan & Sara was a true highlight. I am happy to have such a great team beside me and am looking forward to presenting my new album to my fans around the world later this year. There will be some pretty big surprises."

Also joining the Complete Control team are Inge Colsen, who spent the past 8 years at NY PR and marketing agency Girlie Action. Inge will be heading up the companies online marketing efforts. Heaven MacPherson, previously with Red Bull Records, will be based in LA and oversee the companies producer roster and Stephen Mead, who joins from the UK online direct to consumer company Trinity Street, will oversee all online commerce activities, merchandise and ticketing.
