Award Winning Singer/Songwriter Halie Loren Has New Music Video In Production

Award winning singer/songwriter Halie Loren is in production for a new music video in collaboration with HOCA STUDIO and director Thang Ho in Atlanta, Georgia this week for her original song, "Noah", off of her latest album, "From the Wild Sky", produced by Troy Miller (Jamie Cullum, Becca Stevens, Gregory Porter).

"Noah", an emotionally poignant ballad about loss and hope, is a follow-up to her first video from the album, "How to Dismantle a Life", the buoyant and charmingly wry first single which came out to worldwide praise in Summer, 2018.

"I am so excited to be working with Thang Ho on a song that means as much to me as "Noah" does. The imagery we are creating to communicate this song's story and heart is inspiring and moving me so deeply. I have seen past works Thang and his great team have worked on, and they are truly stunning. I can't wait to see the results of this collaboration!", says Loren.

Much of the production team hail from SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design - Atlanta). Department heads for this production include Writer/Director/Producer Thang Ho, Co-Producers Hahn MJ and Awais Bashir, Director of Photography Vishvesh Bakshi, and Art Director Roxy Flores.

The full video release will be out in the upcoming weeks. In the meantime, Halie Loren's musical discography is available on all streaming outlets, including Spotify, Amazon, and Apple Music, and her CDs are available everywhere through JVC/Kenwood/Victor Entertainment in Asia and Justin Time Records and White Moon Productions throughout the rest of the world.

New Zealand-based Contemporary Jazz Band GroovExpress Rumbles To #1 On Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Albums Chart With 3rd CD Amsterdaam

Like the mighty locomotive train that is its namesake, 8-piece band GroovExpress, made a mighty leap from #9 to #1 on Billboard magazine's Contemporary Jazz Albums chart for the week of September 15 with its third release, Amsterdaam. The soul-jazz fusion band's latest album had only been on the charts for four weeks before landing at the top of the chart. Led by producer/composer/engineer/guitarist Mykeljon Winckel, GroovExpress has been steadily building a loyal fan base over the last six years with its previous releases and live performances. Leading with first single "Geraldine," Amsterdaam jumped over more established American acts such as Dave Koz and Boney James to claim charts top honors.

Winckel could not be more pleased or surprised. "It was wonderful news to see a life-long dream come to reality," he ecstatically states. "This is awesome and amazing news, I knew when the album was completed we achieved something special, but number #1?!"

Impeccably radio-friendly, "Geraldine" and Amsterdaam are well on their way with their missions to garner GroovExpress deeper entrenchment into the international contemporary jazz world where guitars and saxes reign supreme.

GroovExpress is Mykeljon Winckel, guitars and vocals; Ernest Semu, Rhodes, Wurlitzer and piano; Anthony Hunt, organ and clavinet; Trinidad Sanchez III, electric bass; Isaac Sanchez, drums and percussion; "The Angel City Horns" (leader Chris Tedesco, trumpet and Flugelhorn; Robert Kyle; saxophones and flute; Jim McMillen, trombone) with additional percussion by Larry Salzman.

MJ and his "down under" cohorts were as influenced by annual jazz festivals as they were Casey Kasem's weekly radio show "American Top 40." A fusion of the two was an inevitable reality – Chicago crossed with the CTI crossover jazz productions of Creed Taylor. All of this is sunnily evident in the 11 tracks of Amsterdaam which additionally includes the evocative "Oriental Journey" and "Just Before the Light," the McCartney-esque "In My Heart," one vocal tune "All Night Long," a clever mashup of Robben Ford meets Eric Clapton titled "Blues on the Outside," and the Steely Dan influenced "Thin Blue Line" (‘The Dan' being especially inspiring to Mykeljon in his 5 years of music conservatorium study).

So, if you ever wondered what's goin' down at the intersection of L.A. Express & Oblivion Express, climb aboard GroovExpress for a smooth cruisin' adventure!

Anders Helmerson "Quantum House Project"

Anders Helmerson is the artist who has been known as a prog fusion composer and cult keyboard player since his sold-out first album "End Of Illusion" (1981).
He has previously released 3 albums, the most recent Triple Ripple was released in 2011 where he collaborated with German drummer Marco Minneman and American bassist Bryan Beller.

What has happened since then?
One thing: Anders has put his electronica behind and plays acoustic grand piano in collaboration with his new trio. This new outfit came as a surprise to many with what it have conceived and many fans was disappointed but he has now gained many new listeners. He still underline that the type of music he is composing now does not differ much from before although the timbre is different.

And due to this timbre the music he produces has suddenly become accepted in the jazz venues. The setting grand piano, drums ( played by Christian Grassart ) and electric bass ( played by Thierry Conand) makes the outcome feel more jazzy and organic. The music is energetic and loud but at the same time lyrical sensitive.

The new trio, named by Anders as "Quantum House Project" is now playing live shows in UK and France. Following by the successful live show at Vortex Jazz Club in London, UK on 4th September 2018, the new album will officially be released on Saturday 3rd November 2018 at PizzaExpress Jazz club in Soho, London, UK at 1PM for a new album release launch party with Anders solo grand piano teaser performance as the background music for the industry networking.

The trio gigs will follow at full live shows after the album launch in later dates, including Paris-Prague Jazz Club on Saturday 26 January 2019 and more gig dates will be added and gig bookings to the clubs are now open via his management at Manager@AndersHelmerson.com

The name Quantum House eludes to the modern science of quantum mechanics that has been a source of inspiration for Anders when he wrote he music and titles as Superposition and Entangle reflects his philosophy in terms of how nature influences the creative process of writing music.
Prior to the album version, the single Entangle in now on the major music download and streaming services such as iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Google Play and so on.

The new album "Quantum House Project" will be on sale for worldwide distributions on 3rd November 2018.

INVISIBLE FORCES By The Whispering Tree Tops The Charts As The #1 Album On Folk Radio For September

Franco-American folk rock duo, The Whispering Tree were the most played artist on the International Folk DJ Chart for September 2018 and their new release, Invisible Forces was the #1 album, with four songs in the top 20. Big Takeover Magazine called the project "a socially potent commentary of humankind's modern times."

At the heart of The Whispering Tree are singer/songwriter Eleanor Kleiner and multi-instrumentalist Elie Brangbour. Together, they craft richly immersive folk-rock brimming with evocative lyrics and a panoramic musicality.

Invisible Forces, the fourth recording by the fiercely independent twosome, was self-produced, fan-funded and recorded at Elie and Eleanor's home studio in Beacon, NY and at Old Soul Studio in Catskill, NY. The album explores a deeply personal and political landscape, with messages of hope, despair and social consciousness.

The song, "Fat Cat" which was #5 for September, has its origins in Elie's French background and the old-time gypsy jazz tradition back in his hometown while the satirical, anti-capitalist sentiment of the lyrics is firmly rooted in the protest songs of the folk revival and music of folk legend and longtime Beacon resident, Pete Seeger.

Watch the video for "Fat Cat" here: https://youtu.be/_XQsEGHimv4

Other highlights include the impressionistic "These Houses,"(which was #2 for September) a song describing urban decay and the haunting beauty of abandoned places; the revelatory "Heavy" which elegantly connects New Orleans-style jazz with 1960s rock and pop harmony vocals; the darkly foreboding environmental ballad, "Garden;" and the sweetly rousing protest song of social change, "Bells" which was inspired by the struggle to legalize gay marriage.

Watch the new video for HEAVY here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2tX2xtXwDU

Since its 2007 inception, The Whispering Tree has issued two albums and two EPs, and toured nationally and internationally. The duo has also earned prime critical acclaim from The Big Takeover Magazine and Keyboard Magazine, among others. Other marquee career moments include being Kerrville New Folk finalists; Philadelphia Songwriter's Project winners; and Eleanor and Elie having the honor to lend their voices to Pete Seeger and Lorre Wyatt's album, A More Perfect Union.

Amsterdam Dance Event Rounds Up Record Breaking 23rd Edition

The 23rd edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has come to an end in the early hours of Monday morning. For the first time ADE welcomed over 400,000 visitors from more than 100 countries for an extensive day and night program featuring over 1000 events and leading artists and speakers from around the world. From 17 to 21 October there were more than 450 night and 600 daytime events spread over 200 locations, with over 2500 performing artists and around 600 speakers participating in keynotes, workshops and master classes on a variety of topics. The conference and festival program by day saw an increase in numbers attending with daytime activities exceeding more than 600.

ADE General Manager Richard Zijlma looks back on a ‘fantastic edition’. This was the last edition under his supervision, with new director Mariana Sanchotene taking over.

A major focus was the anniversary of 30 years of Dutch Dance. Celebrations included the premiere of a three-part VPRO documentary and the launch/presentation of a reference book featuring the scene’s leading lights. South Korea was the focus country this year, consequently much attention was paid to the rapidly growing South Korean music scene. Several conference and festival events illustrated that musically and culturally South Korea has a lot to offer the rest of the world. Other countries highlighted as one to watch were Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Columbia and Mexico, with special industry network sessions and a growing number of artists performing in the day- and night-time program.

A Growing Cultural Destination
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has grown into a five-day poly-cultural event hosting more than 2500 music artists across all participating clubs and concert halls. Undoubtedly the biggest electronic music conference in the world, ADE hosted a myriad of events from countless panels discussions at the main conference through to pop-up performances, audiovisual installations, film screenings, tech schools and charity events. Some of the diverse and exciting speakers involved in this year’s conference program included; Albert van Abbe, Bonobo, Bruce Carbone, David Guetta, Headhunterz, Imogen Heap, Jayda G, Jean Michel Jarre, Jillionaire, Kerry Trainor, Lena Willikens, Nile Rodgers, Orbital, Paula Temple, Ralph Echemendia a.k.a. The Ethical Hacker, Yann Pissenem, Xosar, Zoe Margolis, and more.

Dutch journalist, musician and event organiser Gert van Veen received the Amsterdam Dance Event Lifetime Achievement Award for his enormous and crucial contribution to the dance scene, the city and ADE, only the second person in the history of the event to have received the honour.

Tony Carlucci & Dynamic Destony Releases New LP "A New Day"

Dynamic Destony has just released their hard-hitting, exciting and energetic LP called "A New Day" which is available on all digital platforms.

This latest offering takes you on a high-energy journey of electronic dance fused rhythms, which are sure to get you moving to the beat. Listed on the album is also 'A New Day' song- The fast paced dance tune has glimpses of euro-pop dance, infused into a pumping beat. It also features strong prominent, impressive vocals, on both parts (Rosanna and Tony).

When listening to the new LP, you can hear a mixture of different dance eras of music. Not only that, other influences are often introduced too- 80's styles can often be heard, amongst trance hints, combined with harder techno beats too.

"A NEW DAY" is an LP which is sure to excite any house music fan. Its blend of styles and genres takes you on a journey into the depths of trance & EDM music. We feel it could also catch the attention and be appealing to those new to the scene too.

選 was Made For Loving You' has more of an 80's influence and includes a scorching electric guitar solo, the mixture is quite broad, yet it still possesses a fast dance vibe. Dynamic Destony has definitely put their own stamp on that remix. That's not the only track to feature guitar either, Burning Up The Dance Floor has a funky blues type sound, put together with a fast moving beat.

Striking a great balance, The LP manages to deliver hard beats, yet doesn't leave you tired. Infused into the whole project, its balanced nicely with popular samples of music, instantly familiar to your ears. In a way this counter-balances the heavier parts, giving a great high energy feel.

The 'A New Day LP' should appeal to a wide range of music fans, because it showcases many different styles and genres and it's mixed into a popular dance style. There's also a diversity of speed on the album too, with a slower ballad called Stars In Your Eyes- This offers a good balance, with a slower number. Whilst the song Orlando has a Spanish type of sound and style.

About:

DynamicDestony is a group that makes energetic and pulsating electronic dance music. They cover all styles of dance music and fuse it into their own unique sound.

When you delve a little more into Tony Carlucci's background, you can see that he boasts a wide range of credentials, not only in music but other artistic avenues too; this surely accounts to his impressive ability to create his own music productions, and sound.

Laura Angelini Makes Birthday World Event

It was the best birthday ever for Southern California based singer Laura Angelini.

The energetic musician and humanitarian flew - on her own dime - in August to Puno, Peru as a volunteer with the Los Angeles-based Angels of Charity and Music (ACM).

She returned a week later, the first week of September, a changed woman.

During that time, Angelini and the rest of the 36-member all volunteer team - including doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists and non-medical support members - coordinated the sixth annual mission trip to change the lives of more than 250 Peruvian children through free surgeries to repair cleft palates; ear microtia; nose, throat, hand and feet deformities; and, gastrointestinal maladies.

"I could easily say this was a life changing experience for me," Angelini said, after returning home to Los Angeles. "I felt such beautiful, open hearts and such gratitude."

Angels of Charity and Music is a non-profit organization made up of dedicated musicians, missionaries, doctors, nurses and other volunteers. It was founded in 2010 by Andrea Vicich, also a Southland singer, who performs under the name Andrea Andrea and sings Spanish children's music for Disney and on her own recordings.

Angelini has volunteered for fundraising activities with ACM for the past five years, but this is the first time she has flown to Peru as a member of the mission team.

Last year, since the trip is annually held around the time of Angelini's birthday, she created a Facebook event whereby friends and family donated to ACM instead of buying the singer birthday gifts.

This year, in addition to performing for ACM's annual "Help A Child Smile Again" charity event at a physician's home in Downey, Angelini put her own money where her mouth and heart are and becam e a member of the mission team. The trip was from Aug. 26 to Sept. 1.

Angelini also was able to procure donations that paid for the anesthesia for the surgical procedures for the 253 children.

"Laura's support, both financially and as a volunteer was such a blessing," Vicich said. "We (ACM) pay for all of the medical supplies, and the anesthesia would be quite expensive if we paid for it ourselves. We were really blessed with that donation."

In addition to the annual Peru mission trip, during the rest of the year, ACM provides emotional, financial, spiritual and medical help to low-income families and children of broken homes, as well as orphans and youths living in the streets in the United States and Mexico.
The Peru trip is led by ACM's Medical Director, U.S. Surgeon and Ear Nose and Throat Specialist Dr. Terry Shibuya, of Anaheim; ACM President Julian Hanberg; ACM Director Al Sousa; and, Vicich.

Procedures performed during the annual trip would likely be otherwise unattainable as the cost for similar surgeries would be upwards of $40,000, according to Vicich.

Arriving in Peru was a bit challenging for many of the mission team members, several whom, like Angelini, hadn't dealt with what Angelini called "rugged weather." Temperatures ranged in the 30- to 60-degrees; whereas, the Los Angeles area team was coming from about 80 degree temperatures.

The altitude also was a vast difference as Puno — which is known as Peru's folkloric capitol, owing to its traditional music and dance festivals — has an altitude of 12, 556 feet above sea level.

"Most of us took altitude illness meds, so it wasn't too bad," Angelini said.

Once in Puno, the team was met by children and families eager to know if they'd be selected for the life-altering medical procedures.

"Due to time and financial constraints not all the families are able to receive care and some will have to come back next year to try again," Angelini explained.

Watching the skilled physicians and medical professionals give of their time to provide medical care to the families of Peru and being part of the mission team was eye opening for Angelini.

"I was amazed at how everyone worked together so well and how grateful the children and families were," she said.

She told of the excitement exhibited by children and parents when the team first arrived.

"One little girl — she couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old — came running up to me and hugged me. It was so touching," Angelini said, adding she saw the child again before the surgery, comforted her and again after the procedure and the girl again expressed her gratitude.

"It was such a beautiful gift, to see how we were there helping children and families and they were so incredibly grateful for whatever we did," Angelini said. "I couldn't have asked for a better birthday."
