Hot off the back of taking second place at the national Dance Rites celebration held at Sydney's Opera House, Koomurri Dancers launch their fourth album 'Sacred Land' on December 15th 2015, through Australian Aboriginal label Deadly Records.

Sacred Land is a traditional didgeridoo album with tracks in aboriginal language and features Russell Dawson throughout the songs. Russell is a Kamilaroi man who dances for his culture and his people. He loves to share the traditions of the Aboriginal people to keep the culture alive for future generations.

Koomurri have been performing across the world for over 30 years. A key entertainment group, anyone walking through Sydney's Circular Quay will most certainly witness Koomurri in action as they have performed the strip seven days a week entertaining the bustling local commuters and tourist trade for many years.

Yuin People is performed by Russell Dawson on didgeridoo and tribal song-man Cecil McLeod and is a dedicated album of traditional songs of the first nations people from the South Coast of New South Wales. Yuin People is a mix of traditional aboriginal song-lines from the region with the last part of the album features traditional song mixed with contemporary beats.

All Yuin people share in common ancestors who spoke as their first preferred language, one or more of the Yuin language dialects, including Djiringanj, Thaua, Walbanga, or Wandandian.

The traditional songs on the album have been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years.

MusicDish Review: Armonite's "Suitcase War"

Performed by Paolo Fosso and violinist Jacopo Bigi, this piece incorporates both traditional and psychedelic features. It is incredulous in its ability to combine Indian traditional elements with rock style features creating an amazing new sound.

Beginning with a metronome like beep, the start of this piece helps to establish a recording studio atmosphere. This allows for the video to come across as raw and unique style.

The video special effects of the shaking when the drummer uses the double pedal adds to the transient like atmosphere portrayed by the music. Paolo Fosso's decision to include the motif of Stravinsky's Firebird in this piece is ingenious. It adds different tonal colors to the already well known and amazing theme from Firebird and helps to attract a wider range of listeners. All in all, "Suitcase War" is a great example of how the artists of today are achieving ways to create tremendous music by combining different musical genres.

New Album By Ajay Mathur Produces Three Award Nominated Singles

Shanren Present "Drinking Song" Video Shot in Southwest China

Earlier this year, Beijing-based indie folk band Shanren (literally "Mountain Men"), traveled across China's Yunnan province to take in and film the rich indigenous musical traditions. The band members, whose own songs mix folk melodies with rock and world music influences, visited rural villages of Yi, Lisu, Nu, Tibetan, and Wa minorities. While joining the villagers in song and dance, they found the music so tied up in the drinking culture-downing copious amounts of the local equivalent of moonshine, fiery homemade liquor distilled from rice or sweet corn-that they turned the boozy footage into the video for their "Drinking Song." 2,000 miles southwest of Beijing and home to 26 of China's 55 official ethnic minority tribes, Yunnan is thought to be the inspiration for the fictional Shangri-La of James Hilton's novel Lost Horizon. As the home province for three members of Shanren (the fourth is from neighboring Guizhou), the remote and colorful province, tucked between Tibet and Southeast Asia, continues to inspire artists. Based on a Yi minority folk song, the lyrics to "Drinking Song" translate to, "you have to drink whether or not you want to."
