HRI: UNArts - Haiti - Hope For Humanity Campaign

Website: http://www.unarts.org
Music: http://www.apatow.org

The international community is now engaged in the systemic collapse of Haiti, following the devastating earthquake, this last week. As the world struggles to respond to this humanitarian emergency, the cost of negligence and neglect of the worlds severely impoverished populations, is finally being grasped by world leaders.

* ReliefWeb: Haiti: Relief Operations Overview.
* Pan American Health Organization: Haiti: Relief Operations Overview.

With 3.5 Billion people or half of the worlds population living in severe poverty, the United Nations Arts Initiative "Hope for Humanity" Campaign, will target the completion of objectives outlined in the "Stand Up Against Poverty - 2009: The Next Level" Initiative.

"STAND UP 2009 was a starting point that engaged the use of technology in a Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube world. But as noted, the issues on the table need to go far beyond a tweet or a post of support on Facebook or MySpace. We need real time communication of prioritized issues, engagement of top experts and formation of background discussion groups for review and analysis, compilation of peer reviewed supporting information for communication to the decision making level, media, etc., etc. Through this advocacy approach, consensus building, grassroots strategic planning, and response are achievable at the speed of an email."

All attendees will have the opportunity to share their words or music and find their place in the mix.

While at the fest, writers can also attend Pro Instruction classes, workshops, Q & A sessions and other personal tid bits, all about the craft and business of songwriting.

An Open House is held by participating recording studios, publishers, song pluggers and other music related businesses where writers can drop by without an appointment to ask questions, exchange samples or discuss what part they play in the business of Music. Register your music related music business for the Open House or if you're a festival attendee, stop by and check out some of the industry.

Google Search Low Tech Red Neck

Website: http://www.moltenmike.com

Michael Desselle (the artist formerly known as Molten Mike) writes in an email from 1/17/2010: "Google Search low tech red neck for info on my soon to be released red hot country single and upcoming full length video "LOW TECH RED NECK".

This is a full on hillbilly view of the cyber age, and it's troubling how close this song describes....well....ME!!!

This tune had legs before it was mixed. Honestly, I have never felt the overwhelming response to an original song I have crafted....ever! This one has touched a nerve. If ya'll like humor in music, and I hope you do, then you might be a low tech red neck."

"This tune has a punch line at the end of every other sentence with smooth vocal harmonies, Blazin hot "Telecaster", Country guitar licks, and smokin "Country Fiddle" along with scorching "Pedal Steel Guitar"... This song has more hooks than June Carter's tackle box! Saddle up, it's gonna be a helluva ride." continued Michael.

"Michael has been holed up at ESP studios working on his 6th full length CD "I'm All In". We have already released 2 singles "One Little Love" a country wedding waltz, and "Thank A Soldier" which is a tribute to all the people who are Active Duty or Veterans. "Thank a Soldier" is in it's 2nd printing already. Mike performed this song at the Daughters of the American Revolution at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, and also at the Military Museum (twice) in Largo Florida. said Randall Ierna, BMI publisher.

"Other songs ready to be released soon are "Wouldn't Treat a Dog Like That", "Going Back to Tennesee", "Some Cowgirls" and "That Old Time Music"". continued Randall.

"We plan to release the singles over the "interweb" as downloads and all the usual outlets will be offering the songs. In addition we will have a new website up soon to download any or all of Mike's portfolio of over 60 songs." concluded Randall.

Michael Desselle has produced 5 full length CD's: "Chameleon", "All Blues", "The Movie", "Blues Meltdown" and "Genuine Bluesman"

MusicDish Presents: Haze by Blake McKibben

Writing, performing, and producing his own music is innate for Blake McKibben, and the musical styling of his debut "Haze" is beautifully complex and intimately expressed to its listeners. McKibben does quite well in sharing his competence as a rock-and-roll, pop, and electronic artist within this one track rather than limiting himself to only one genre. This title track is emphasized poetically through McKibben's raw and soulful vocals as he tells a story though his music.

Pop Artist Anouschka's New Album Released To Benefit Wildlife Conservation In Africa

Website: http://www.anouschka.net
Music: http://www.myspace.com/anouschkatunes

Pop/Rock singer/songwriter Anouschka released her latest EP, "So Why?" on June 4, 2010. All proceeds from the EP's sales will finance the artist's goodwill mission to Africa to study as a Game Ranger/work with wildlife conservation over the next two months. The album features the songs "One Of The Finer Days," "Silently," the title track "So Why?" and "Lust" (which includes an alternative version that Anouschka says "can only be described as "a performance by my alter ego Lay dee Berlin".

"So Why?" is indeed a work that is close to Anouschka's heart, as she conceptualized and completed the entire project herself from writing and performing the music to designing the very unique cover art. Although she also produced the album, she acknowledged that it could not have been done without Harris Johns, the renowned audio recording engineer who worked with trash metal bands, in whose Berlin studio the album was recorded. Johns is widely known for his work with popular trash metal bands such as Halloween, Coroner, Tankard, Sodom, Volvod, Creator, and others.

Anouschka's second EP, "My Kind Of Heartbreak," was listed on the Americana charts for two months, earning rave reviews from the likes of M. Hillbom, Musikcritic (Musiklivet, Sweden), who noted "Eclectic and very good Americana... She has been compared to Rickie Lee Jones, Jewel, and Phoebe Snow. My girlfriend is reminded of Carole King and Buffy Sainte-Marie while I hear a little Lucinda Williams. The music is eclectic. Jazz, country, rock and blues are mixed in an extremely competent manner".

Despite critical acclaim for her previous releases, Anouschka is certain that "So Why?" is even better. "I've always written and produced my own albums, so there's nothing new about that, but this is the first time that I've been able to digitally record the vocals. The songwriting is a top notch balance of orchestration, musical composition and lyrics. I wear a lot of different hats to get to the finish line, but I'm managing the give the major labels a run for their money on my own with respect to quality, and that's a great feeling."

Performing in venues like the Stampen Blues Club in Sweden and the Babylon Theatre in Berlin, Anouschka regularly does jam sessions where she can improvise an entire song on the spot- playing, leading, and performing vocals.

"So Why?" was released for global distribution through Berlin, and will soon be available through major online retailers such as iTunes, Amazon.com, eMusic and Napster. It is also available for purchase at the store on Anouschka's website at http://www.anouschka.net/html/store.html.
