Junior Wright Releases New Single "Blood", Blends Chilling Lyrics With Bold R&B Melodies

Multi-talented singer-songwriter Junior Wright has released his newest single "Blood". Stylishly blending classic pop and spoken word, "Blood" tells a gruesome story of a fight between a married couple, haunted by images of gunshots and bloody hands. The lyrical unease is contrasted with a catchy dance anthem, all highlighted by Junior's smooth and emotional vocals. Overall, "Blood" breaches the boundaries of traditional pop and R&B with its sinister themes, achieving an emotional depth successfully illustrating Junior Wright's innovative approach to the genre. The song can be heard at: https://juniorwright.lnk.to/blood

Don't Say It's Tony Adamo And The Headhunters

Mike Clark, legendary drummer and former member of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters band, can now add another name to his illustrious music career as the Funk Wizard of Manhattan. In addition to producing his new discovery, singer/nu-hip spoken word artist Tony Adamo's CD, Clark brought in four members of the Headhunters - Bill Summers, percussion; Rob Dixon, horns; Richie Goods, Bass; Derrick Gardner, trumpet - to play and finish out the recording. Final mix day on Tony Adamo's new CD is in late July 2012. Mike Clark producing Tim Ouimette mixing and pushing buttons. It is a really new concept--Oakland Funk and New York throw-down meets vocal/hip spoken word.

Tony Adamo @ #4 On Jazz Charts

Vocalist Hipspokenword artist Tony Adamo's "9 MILES of BLU" jumps up to #4 on Allaboutjazz Top 25 downloads. "9 Miles of Blu" is produced by legendary drummer Mike Clark (yes the drummer who played with Herbie Hancock for many years. Adamo reaches into the pre-rap turf of Gil Scott-Heron here with this seductive too-short flash memoir about how he discovered jazz and its legendary envelope-pushers—Dizzy Gillespie, Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, John Coltrane, Miles Davis. There’s energy and honor and wonder in Adamo’s words, especially in the fluid alliterative syncopated way the words reflect the inspiration that jazz gave him—as an artist, as a human being. In the tumultuous and stressful times in which we live, everyone needs a form of release/relief. There are those who prefer a little jazz, those who like a nice hot bath, and then there are those for whom the only answer is our higher power. Even then, we need something or someone to help remind us that God is there for us, and the song "We Welcome You to Come" does just that.

One of the tracks from the CD "Songs By Grace LaJoy," the strength of this track is its simplicity. Featuring vocalist Zenobia Smith, the message is strong and clear with a straight forward delivery. Unadorned, but meaningful, its lyrics remind you to let go and let God: "We welcome you to come / Come and bring your burdens. / Come and bring your pain."

The track starts off nice and slow, luring you into the mindset of turning your cares over when you've done all you can do and life has you weary and weak. About midway through, it really builds, adding a choral backup before returning to the initial tempo. The musicians on this track do a great job with the piano, bass, synthesizer, strings, and drums. The vocals are big and the song is like a personal invitation to you to accept its message. This is a nice, "wave your hands in the air" song that will definitely strike at the core of your faith, reminding you that you are not alone.

New Music By Songwriter Grace LaJoy Calls For Forgiveness To Change The World

Can you forgive that trusted person in your life who betrayed your confidence? Forgiveness is never easy but it's something we all know is the right thing to do.

Author, speaker, songwriter and spoken word artist Dr. Grace LaJoy brings this timely subject to light through original songs and spoken word on her new CD "Songs By Grace LaJoy." The project was inspired by LaJoy's acclaimed spoken word piece "I Forgive You," which has been endorsed by leading motivational speaker Les Brown.

"'I Forgive You' just resonated with my spirit," said Brown.

The featured vocalist on "Songs by Grace LaJoy" is international gospel artist Zenobia Smith. She has shared the stage with Mahalia Jackson, Shirley Caesar, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Edwin Hawkins, Clifton Davis, Bobby Jones and minister Daryl Coley.

"I couldn't imagine releasing a gospel CD without adding 'I Forgive You,' which relates a powerful message in these times," said LaJoy, whose books are published under the name Grace LaJoy Henderson. "But I think all the songs on the project will empower people to develop a closer walk with God and to live at a higher level."

LaJoy said the standout track on the CD is "We Welcome You To Come." The song, which is about accepting God's love and forgiveness, has already been attracting the attention of pastors. Many have requested to perform it in their church services.

Pam Bryant, co-pastor of Jesus is the Answer Church in Kansas City, is a believer in the song and its power to make a positive impact.

"'We Welcome You to Come' will bless churches all over the world," said Bryant. "I will definitely be using this as a ministering tool in my congregation."

Other tracks on the CD include: "Higher Than This Place," "Don't You Know," "He'll Give You An Answer," "I'm Ready," "In The Bible," "God Knows Me," "How Do I Let Go" and "I Forgive You."

Along with her music and spoken word, LaJoy has authored 11 books, including "Sexual Purity and The Young Woman," "Writer's Breakthrough: Steps To Copyright and Publish Your Own Book, and "More Than Mere Words: Poetry That Ministers."
